They did such an amazing job with the design and the taste! We ordered the Ube tres leches and it was so delicious. Everyone at my daughter's party was so impressed, I'm sure Sugar Toof will never have a shortage of customers from past the boundaries of the Bay Area. I'm from the Hercules area but moved near Davis. Since my family still lives in Hercules and can pick the orders up for me, I order from here for special occasions. They always have the most delicious desserts and come through with the designs.

I was so sad when I heard Sunflower Bakery closed but to my pleasant surprise, Sugar Toof is run by their daughter who has the original caramel cake recipe!Caramel cake is one of the IYKYK types of things in the community. Even my dentist loves their caramel cake, we used to bring her one every time we had our appointments in the South Bay! Honestly, it is perfection. I love the light airy chiffon cake that's covered in a rich and creamy caramel frosting. I love how the top is fully loaded and wish the sides also had a thick amount but that's just because I have a big sugar toof :pEveryone at this bakery is so kind and welcoming, coming here feels like you've entered a small town bakery based on how personable everyone is.The glass display has so many tempting options but I restricted myself to a caramel cake and buko pie for my mom. I already raved about the caramel cake but I must say the buko pie is one of the best I've had in the states. I ate about half the pie myself. My mom and I are looking forward to coming back soon! If you're looking for a cake for a celebration or are just in the mood for something sweet, you should definitely stop by Sugar Toof.

We've been here when it was called Sunflower Bakery several time and years ago; we would buy cakes and sweet stuff for bday and family occasions. Since it has changed to its new name now, I tried calling ahead to request Sans Rival cake. I tried to call several times and each time the phone rang but no one answered. The couple of times when it was picked up, the person said they did not accept a weekend order ( I had called on a Wednesday). Disappointed, I just drove to Goldilocks in Concord. I will never go here for any cakes. If they know that their business demand will go up on the weekends, they should've prepared and staff accordingly! It's a missed revenue for them!

I love mom and pop bakeries and this Filipino one is a special place for me because the owners and cuisine are my people! I remember this place as "Sunflower bakery" with the famous caramel cake. It looks like they are the same place but with a new name and more delicious items.I had to swing by and try a sampling of the new goodies. They have a ton of yummy-looking items ranging from traditional Filipino pastries, (ensaymada, mamon, pan de sal, sansrival, egg tart- some with a modern twist of adding ube), a variety of cookies and cupcakes, their famous caramel cake, and some savory items like fresh sio mai and what- freshly baked empanadas?! Yes please! Highlights:-Oreo pecan cookies: 2 of my favorite ingredients in a cookie! This visit was delicious- cookie consistency was crisp on outside and chewy on inside and it was a good size. However I did come back a second time to get them again and they were a smidge thicker and overcooked so hope they get their recipe/bake to be more consistent next time.-Sansrival - such a texturally rich treat with the meringue wafers coated with buttery goodness and crispy cashews. I recommend freezing for an extra crunch!-Sio mai- huge pieces of fresh shrimp and pork dumplings. It comes in a box of 12 for $11. Once you steam them at home, they are delish. I added some of them to my soup!-Empanadas- these babies are freshly baked and ready by 11am. I got 3 beef and 3 chicken - they came with chimichurri and aioli sauces and they were very tasty! Flaky pastry, flavorful meat, and the sauces elevated the experience. It was also nicely presented in the box with a sprinkle of fresh herbs.I've shared these goodies with some of my friends and one of them is an empanada addict now. So happy to have a delicious go-to bakery near me!

What a hidden gem out in Hercules!I am such a fan and I've only been here once. Making a huge statement here...but the BEST pork siopao I have ever had. My goodness...the filling was perfection. It was also extremely huge and filling but I immediately regretted not buying more. This is a must.Picked up some other items also:Halo HaloCaramel CakeUbe Tres LechesBuko PiePolvoronEverything was spot on but I'm looking forward to trying their chicken siopao and siomai. You can ask them to warm it up for you also.Super friendly staff and extremely clean inside. Solid 5 stars.

Love all the sweets! If only I could eat everything without getting diabetes, I would. My fav is the ube crinckle, which frankly they should make in bigger batch because it's always sold out! Don't sleep on the chocolate crinkle though, it's equally good. Love the servers, friendly and not snob. You k ie what I mean when you go to some Filipino establishments, servers have that air. Employees here are totally the opposite. Friendly and approachable.

My family has been going to this bakery for the last decade, back when it was Sunflower Bakery. Their desserts have always been so delicious, while still having a comforting homemade feel about them. This year for my birthday, I asked for their signature caramel cake and leche flan, and they really delivered! The icing was beautifully done, and I was really impressed. As usual, both desserts were delicious. The caramel cake is light and fluffy without being too rich. The leche flan is creamy and sweet, just the way it should be!Some other desserts I enjoy from here are the cream puffs and the caramel cupcakes. If you're looking to support a local Filipino business and satisfy your sweet tooth at the same time, be sure to check them out!

Sugar Toof is amazing. They catered my son's bar mitzvah party at Crockett Community Center a few weeks ago. We got cake shots in four flavors and some panna cotta for gluten free guests. Not only were the desserts delicious, but Sugar Toof was so easy to work with: super responsive, and they made a beautiful table, and came and picked up everything at the end of the night. It was such an easy and lovely experience. I would recommend them to anyone for catering.
