Strawberry Plains Patisserie

Last fall I was lucky enough to experience one of their cakes at a dear friend's wedding, and I've probably thought about it once a month ever since. It was peanut buttery chocolate goodness that will stop you in your tracks at any wedding reception. I witnessed another friend grab a handful of it off someone else's plate as she was exiting the reception just to have another taste. Best wedding cake I've ever had and I've been married twice. Five stars, two thumbs way up, gold medal winner.

I got a wedding cake from Strawberry Plains and it was exactly what I wanted! I'm not a traditional type, so I wanted something that was delicious AND still pretty, meaning that I didn't want fondant. Kate made it happen, including handmade frosting succulents to match the real succulents in my bouquet. Everyone raved about the cake, and in fact they ate every last bit, meaning that I will be ordering another (smaller) one in a year for our anniversary.

A slice of my childhood! I've eaten at least a dozen of Kate's cakes. Some were experimental, some were gifts to friends, and others were custom requests. Every bake I tried was stunning in flavor and in execution. Her german chocolate made my eyes roll in pleasure and her Charlotte Russe was crazy! She bakes with a ton of heart and captures a homemade bake consistently and craftily. So happy to see she's baking for everyone!

I've had the pleasure of eating Kate's delicious baked goods on many occasion and they are the best part of any birthday. Her attention to detail and lack of fear for even the most complicated bake make her stand out in the crowd. Pick a theme, an ingredient, a sentimental favorite- she will blow your expectations out of the water. Her mailed treats have gotten me through much of the COVID lockdown, and make me dream about the time when we can have large gatherings again and all come together to share some sweet delights.

I love Kate's rice cake for chinese new york. It's a fusion of traditional chinese rice cake with her own ingredient. A very nice treat for the special event!

Strawberry Plains never disappoints. Kate is extremely versatile and creative. On several occasions, all I had in mind were a few ingredients that I like and she was able to turn the key words into amazing cakes! If you are ordering cookies or bars during covid like I did, the packaging and shipping is always very thoughtful. Why this review doesn't have photos? I always couldn't wait to try them and you won't be putting them down to take a photo, trust me.
