I found Stagebridge five years ago when my next-door neighbor invited me to go to summer camp. I spent the most fun, intense, exhausting week of my adult life and have been hooked ever since.Stagebridge offers classes in the performing arts to adults over 50 (and their friends) Every day, and has recently added evening classes as well for those who still have to work ;-( Before finding Stagebridge I was an early retiree, relocated from across the Bay, and at a real loss for fulfilling activities and good friends. My life has been transformed in the most positive of ways since going to camp that first summer and then taking classes during the year. I got to fulfill a lifelong dream of performing West Side Story! I can't say enough good things about the wonderful people who teach at Stagebridge and the wonderful students who attend classes there. You could be one of them! Check out the website for upcoming classes soon to be available for the winter session.

I'll third a rec for Counter Attack! I was delighted by the story of the longtime waitress vs. the young whippersnapper. I laughed a lot and came away with a better appreciation of the folks who bring food to my table at the various restaurants I've Yelped about. Watching the enactment of a diner's rush hour left me exhausted (in a good way). The music doesn't hurt either. This is the last weekend. Check it out.

Counter Attack adapted from Candacy Taylor's book Counter Culture: The American Coffee Shop Waitress by the oh so talented local treasure Joan Holden is an hysterically funny theatrical event! Joan Mankin RULES! She is so very funny! Her facial expressions and body language say far more than words ever could. The play's language is witty and tight. Holden continues to delight! Sarah Mitchell outdoes herself as the young waitress learning the ropes from the more experienced. (Kudos for the casting!)The 'crowd' of customers contributes to the comedic experience! Sharon Lockwood directed this excellent night of theatre! Stagebridge is a fantastic theatre company dedicated to dramatically demonstrating that life does not stop or become less interesting when one ages! Everyone should see this show! Gather your friends! Bring your parents! Do not miss this show!

I've been attending SB classes for 4 years. As a fledgling playwright I began Monday play writing classes with Anthony Clarvoe and I've never looked back. The instructor, a noted playwright, is gracious, incredibly knowledgeable, and allows everyone time to discover their own rhythm. The 'students' are wonderfully supportive and gifted. As a result of taking these classes I have been fortunate enough to have my work performed on a number of stages. This is the best kept secret in the bay area. Whether you are seeking a fun experience, a new adventure, or wish to participate in writing, improv, singing, dancing, acting, radio plays, and oh so many other wonderful classes, this is the place to give it a try. Do the thing you've always wanted to do, your soul will thank you. You can't fail here, oh but the world should be so welcoming.

Stagebridge is the best thing that's happened to me since retirement. I started with acting classes in 2009 (wanted to act as a teenager, but life got in the way). Then got brave and tried musical theater. NEVER sang before (was told not to as a child). Then a singing class; then summer camp. Even dragged my husband in. We are both having a ball, being challenged, learning new skills. Now, would be lost without it.
