Amazing food, good service for a great price. I had the chicken gyro and it was spectacular! I would go back! It was delicious

I came here after a concert at the New Parish and man it hit. I got the chicken shawarma wrap and it was so flavorful, saucy, and satisfying. I appreciate that they weren't stingy with the sauce (which was very tasty) and the chicken itself was also very moist and flavor packed.I was expecting a food truck but they are now a brick and mortar store, but the location on here is the right one.

So glad I got to finally try this place. I heard about them during the pandemic and reached out. They said they were renovating and working on a new location. I got a message today saying that they were reopening and I went to give it a try. The food truck is still parked right outside and the cafe inside the actual restaurant is called Cairo Station. It was so nicely interior designed, and was very neat and clean. I was actually their first customer to be inside the restaurant since they opened. I highly recommend getting the Mix Plate, it has beef, chicken, and shrimp. I will say that it is more expensive than it should be BUT I didn't have an issue paying for it since it was their first day and I'm happy to see them in my local community. Over time, they may need to bring prices for the plates down a little but given the pandemic and the challenges of opening a restaurant--costs of doing business are higher than ever so I didn't have an issue. I plan to add this place to the spots I frequent in Oakland and really encourage you to give them a try.

The love is in the food and always has been! They've moved into a café space but they've maintained that food truck/hole-in-the-wall authenticity. You can't go wrong with the classic gyro sandwich. Me, I'm a fat boy so I just get all three (gyro. chicken and shrimp) in one . As for the deserts, the baklava is DELICIOUS--but the kunafa is where's its at! Don't pick one, GET BOTH! And if you don't know, they've got an in-house Turkish coffee that will smack any Starbucks drink or espresso shot. They are wonderful, welcoming people who appreciate their clientele. Try to come early, because it gets busier throughout the night.

The big sign outside says Cairo Station cafe so don't miss it! Super yummy food!! A little oily but the flavors are amazing. Friendly service, fresh juices.

Found this place around 1AM one late Saturday night and was thrilled with their food. I recall thinking, "this is the most amazing thing I've ever eaten." But that was likely due, in part, to not eating anything since lunch.Their menu looked pretty big, but due to the lateness they only had a few items available. The chicken schwarma was luckily one of those items. I had two and they were really flavorful.

Perhaps most people that eat here are drunk? They were out of lamb and shrimp, so we got falafel (chewy, lukewarm) and gyro (lots of lettuce, where was the meat?). I came looking for some good food on Saturday at midnight, but I was thoroughly disappointed.

The best late night food truck, if you are in the Oakland you have to visit this place for sure. Probably the best Mediterranean food in east bay.

I am patiently awaiting the re-opening of this truck. From what I heard from the owner, this truck will be making a comeback in the near future.It would probably help if Oakland had fewer broad daylight robberies, but... different topic for another day.

If their truck isn't running/open (and their listed number for the truck here and on the website currently doesn't work) then just check Cairo Station (it's their storefront) hours. It's at 1720 telegraph, # is (510) 410-7666. Just putting this info here because I got the truck rec, then almost gave up bc it seemed like the truck might be open but is also listed on google search as permanently closed, but didn't know until after I did some searching around that these two are one in the same.Got the shrimp falafel sandwich, chicken plate, and knafeh. excellent, especially the sandwich and dessert!
