Sharky's Chicken and Fish - Vallejo

I've been going to both this location and the Vacaville location for a while now and so this review is long overdue so here I am.I called in and ordered a 20 pc whole wing that also came with fries. Lemme tell you, their chicken is soo good! The chicken is so moist and whatever they season their chicken with is addicting. The fries were decent. The service here was decent nothing too crazy. The restaurant is in a kinda sketchy area... with a large parking lot. In general, this is one of my go to fried chicken spots. Definitely recommend checking this spot out. Try it out if you like. :)

To start off... Our family go-to was always JJ'S CHICKEN. My youngest son loves their wings and the way they seasoned them. Over the past couple years there has been a huge decline in quality. I.e. cooked food quality, size of wings.When my kids were younger we would get a 15pc whole wing order and there would always be some leftovers. The older they got I bumped it up to 20pcs. Their wings got smaller and smaller over time. As if new owners came in to increase profit. Look I get it. Keep the prices reasonable and just get smaller wings.... Not the way to go for me. Charge me more for better quality food and I'm okay with that. My last straw with JJ's, I ordered a 30pc knowing they always got the small wings. My family and I were starving after a long outing. Opened it up to eat, 100% BURNT! Wings, fries burnt! So burnt tasting I started to get a swore throat. My family and I stopped eating it!I'm not one to demand my money back or call and yell at them. I know they'll always get some business, but no more business from me! If you want the quality you're use to! Hit up Sharky's!! I also order the Cod meal and man that fish was awesome too! Keep up the good work guys! Thanks!

I would like to say I will try this restaurant but I will not go to their truck. I found them at the Cajun celebration a few weeks ago and before they were set up I had the chance to meet them and the lady's that work there. They weren't very friendly and they had some internal issues going that made it difficult to figure out what was going on. The lady who said she was the wife of sharkys owner seemed stressed and just wanted to left alone so I didn't get a clear answer on if truck was open or not that day. But if I come back I will try to go inside the actual building for food. I won't try the truck again. And I will look for the owner. Everyone speaks very highly of him.

Love it food was fresh and hot red beans and rice very flavorful fish fried hard everything was delicious

The customer service was amazing at Sharkys! They answered all the questions that I had about the menu and even gave their own personal recommendations! The food took a little long to get done but that's a good sign of just how fresh their food is. I ordered the 2 item combo with fried catfish and chicken wings. The fish tasted fresh and both item were well seasoned! Definitely would recommend this place for anyone in the area!

If I could give a 0 STARS I would. I ordered a shrimp po boy, four piece chicken wings and an extra order of fries came up to $42.61. Everything was nasty including the fries. How can you mess up on fries? The shrimp poor boy had a mustard sauce on it! It had an awful taste Who does that! The chicken was not seasoned at all and the fries was cold and hard. Do not waste your time going to this place this was my first and last time Going here. What a waste of money.

This has got to be the closest to Mississippi or Louisiana food since I was down south. Those hush puppies and shrimp po-boy put me down for a napp almost instantly that Idis hit hard. Compliments to the owners and cooks, felt like I was sitting at my cousin's in Louisiana. Cat fish was wild and tasty, I don't know what kind of seasoning they used but MAN was it addictive. I will be back to try the wings and alligator next time.

My dad asked me to pick up some fried fish for dinner so I did my Yelp search. I've always wanted to try Sharky's out and missed Vallejo Restaurant Week. I believe they have a location in Vallejo and Vacaville. I looked on Yelp for their menu and decided to go with the Red Snapper - 4 piece, and catfish nuggets (small). I didn't know that they both came with fries and bread (to soak up the oil in the bottom). I called ahead of time for pick up and they said it would be about 15 minutes. My total came out to about $38. Located at the same plaza of Starbread in Vallejo, this area gets a good amount of food traffic and for a Thursday afternoon around 7 there were people but it wasn't super busy. The workers were very friendly upon pick up and on the phone, the place was super clean, there's a bathroom and they also sell desserts from Marita's bakery-- lots of cakes and pies. They looked really good!!Peoples first question to me is their fish fry comparable to J&J's and Soultrans in Vallejo. My quick answer was yes as I ate it fresh. The fry and seasoning was really good and the fish quality as well, some places sometimes have more of a frozen fish taste or quality and my order did not. Would recommend this place if you're looking for a good fish fry, give it a try!

I ordered the med . family seafood gumbo with small sides. The gumbo had one tiny shrimp and one skimpy crab leg ...like where's the seafood and It was a bit salty. And no corn bread came with the order.We were kind of disappointed for our first order.

Greens:** The greens were good--well-seasoned but not spicy. A hint of spice would be nice, but loved it taste like fresh green leafy vegetables Potato Salad:** The potato salad was good, with a perfect amount of vinegar--not overpowering. I loved its crunchiness and large black peppers. mac and cheese was overly yellow and orange for my taste, It had a creamy texture and an okay flavor.candied yams were just right--lightly sweet, allowing the natural flavors of the potatoes to shine throughI appreciate the light use of seasonings, allowing for minimal sodium, salt, sugar, calories, and dairy worries.
