Shannon Park and Community Center

I got married at Shannon Community center over the weekend and the planning has been extremely stressful leading into the day of. Although I ended up having an amazing wedding at the end of the day, I want to highlight how stressful the planning process has been the moment we picked this place as our venue.First off, the city website redirecting to information about Shannon Community center is convoluted and sparse. They have an online reservation system that works on a "good day". The reservation system crashes constantly and is very limited in its capability and would require assistance from the park's coordinator. However, seeking for more information about this place with the park's coordinator is also a joke! The coordinator never picks up phone calls and only responds via emails that takes weeks to respond if not escalated. Within our email communication, the information provided is never helpful or direct. The emails with the coordinator mostly required us to have to engage in unnecessary back and forth correspondence in order to get information out of the coordinator. For example, when inquiring about how to use an off site caterer and the FAQs not giving step-by-step guidance for a daily permit with the Shannon community center reservation, instead of the coordinate helping us, she point blank told us to refer to the website (which was useless) and to contact the planning department instead since it was "outside of her job responsibilities to help". A second example is not giving us information upfront on what is available, included or excluded within the reservation as well as constantly backtracking on what is permitted versus not.When inquiring about the sound system within the center for our event, we were met with hostility even though the contract and reservation clearly indicating that sound system was included as part of the rental. It took over two days worth of back and forth emails just to get a user/operational manual on the sounding system for our DJ to prepare proper cords and equipment for our big day.And most notably... the park's coordinator is not professional-- in addition to avoiding phone calls, she would always be late to appointments or CANCEL appointments on us last minute. She is only professional when her boss is copied on emails or when we have to escalate the matter, which speaks volume to the unprofessionalism and lack of customer service skills at City of Dublin. What a SHAME that the constituents are funding the salaries of incompetent people that lacks passion for their job.Moral of story? Don't rent Shannon Community Center. You'll regret having paid 3-4 grand just to stress out and unhappy leading up to your hosted event.

We made the reservation online & it went very smoothly. We had many questions & called the Shannon Park #. Kim patiently answered all our questions & was very helpful. The picnic table area & restrooms were clean but the 4 bbq grates contained leftover ashes. We had to clean them out before we could bbq. The rental cost for the hours of use was reasonable. As we set up the area, other park people wanted to use the tables. The only recommendation we have is to request the park to place a reservation sign up so we would not have to tell these people that the area is already reserved. The weather & area were perfect & we plan to utilize the space again!!!

"Pleasant, Well-maintained Park."We used to come to this park all the time when our kids were young, and recently made a return visit with her grandchild. The park is pretty much as I remembered. There's a huge lawn area for the kids to run around on. They also do soccer lessons for little kids on the weekend.There are several large, well-maintained bathrooms, which even have paper towels! There's drinking fountains in that same area.There are two kids play structures. One is larger, perhaps for older kids, and a smaller one with swings close by. Our granddaughter loved to go down the slide. There's also a sandpit nearby where kids play in the sand.There are quite a few tables and benches, and even BBQs. You can also reserve an area for a special party.The park has a large parking area, so I don't think you'll have trouble with parking. There's also free parking on the street close by. The same area has the famous Shannon Community Center, where they have all kinds of kids camps and classes.So overall, a pleasant park, with lots of options for young kids to play. The day that I visited, the water splash area was turned off. Perhaps it goes back on in the summer? Some of the buildings are showing their wear, but Shannon Park is still a great asset to Dublin.

I am very critical of parks in general when it comes to them being clean but this place is very well kept up from the ground up to the community center and then some.We had attended a wedding of a member of the family and it's the perfect venue to book for large size weddings of over 200 people. They had a kitchen in there too for cooking food. Overall the whole experience was enjoyable inside the community center for the wedding and it's very wheel chair friendly.

Beautiful wedding and private party venue with plenty of space for over 250 Guests. Check out the features in person and be amazed. I love DJing here. Such great acoustics

**Review for the park**Highlights:- Walking distance from Boba Bliss if you want to pick up a yummy drink and are more comfortable enjoying it outside- Many shaded sitting spots (tables, benches, and even by the fountain) to enjoy said boba- Family friendly - great for kids to play on the play structure or run around the grass. Would also be a good place for hosting birthday parties or barbeques- Well-maintained restroom facilities- Also has great parking- Bonus: You may even spot a wedding at the community center behind the plants (I did once!)This local park is way more spacious than it looks just driving by. There's a whole back area with a little trail around many picnic tables under what looks like solar panels! Fancy. The mosaic-tiled fountain and modern art sculpture are also fancy. Overall a great place to visit.

this area is partly Shannon Park with a lot of greenery, some children's play area, and some benches to sit on. as with some land in the area, it isn't flat, not conducive for standard sports facilities.there's also the Community Center which is available for a fee for private events. it's not a dedicated place for community events.

Neighborhood park in Dublin off of San Ramon blvd. Good to have these little parks in the neighborhood. Met up with a couple of friends for a socially distanced lunch. Plenty of space to be spaced apart. A few people walking their dogs and a couple of parents with their kids. Still nice and sunny in California in January!

Attended a debutante celebration for my friend's 18 yr old daughter. The space is big for the event and you can get this place totally looking great ! My friend had this place looking elegant! You can have your event of your life from Weddings to birthdays or whatever you want to celebrate. This place has a lobby and outside is a park! There's a parking lot that can accommodate lots of vehicles! I would totally recommend this place!

A fantastic venue hidden away in Dublin. New, clean, helpful staff. Having a wedding there.
