The menu is huge! Talk about authentic Shanghainese cuisine! The service was quick, and we got our dishes right away. We were in and out for lunch in an hour. My favorite was this fish dish, which is easy to overcook, but they didn't! It was tender, flaky, and flavorful. The lionhead meatballs tasted great over rice. The only reason I docked one star is because the prices were a little high for a "dive-y" place (ie, menu specials printed and taped on the walls, disorganization, not super clean), but the food was delicious so I'm not complaining. My friend and I were fighting over who should bring home the leftovers!

I generally really enjoy Shanghainese food especially the salty pork veggie rice... When the rice arrived it looked wet... but was actually oily. Not much salty pork taste but very "green" taste. I could taste the Chinese book Chou in every bite as if the soak the rice in veggies purée. Not the best version I have tried in the Bay Area. The appetizer (coupled delight?) 父妻肺片 was very salty and small. The numbing oil was tasty but the meat tasted overtly marinated and very salty. The best dish was the meatballs. The salty egg yolk was wonderful. The texture of the meatballs was a bit mushy but passable. And all the while I had to shoo away a fly what was fixated on the meatballs...

Shanghai Delight is a small, modest restaurant located in a strip mall shopping center. My family and I arrived at around 11:30am on Saturday, which is right before the lunch rush. Thus, we were seated right away. However, it was pretty packed by the time we left. My family got a few items to share including the Shanghai style noodle soup, Shanghai style pork fried rice, fish fillet, and pork belly. Overall, the dishes that we ordered were simple, but done well. It felt homey and I wouldn't mind getting any of these dishes again. Of course, next time, I'll have to try some additional specialty items because the tables next to us had me craving more!

Ordered Sauteed Prawns, Filet Fish in Wine Sauce, Crabmeat Ball, Preserved Vegetable with Bean Curd Sheet, Bean Curd with Vegetables, Happy Family Clay Pot, Seafood and Tofu Pot, and Soup Dumplings. All the food was good, but my favorites were the clay pots, bean curd with vegetables, and vegetables with bean curd sheet. The service was quick and attentive. And the ambiance was casual.

The environment and service were decent. I ordered three dishes, and the disappointing one was a cold appetizer--Shanghai smoked fish. The fish was over-fried, making the meat too hard, leaving nothing enjoyable to eat. My favorite was the Sauteed Shelled Prawns; the shrimp were unexpectedly tender and delicious, resembling the texture I had in Shanghai. As for the Yangzhou-style bean curd and dry shrimp, it was just so-so. Essentially, it was dried tofu strips, shrimp, and vegetables cooked together in a broth.

First time here and really enjoyed it! Shanghainese food is very similar to Thai food but you can taste the distinct difference in a good way! Food was really flavorful and made well. The Tom yum soup and green curry came out piping hot with steam and all. The pad Thai came with a side of chopped lettuce which was interesting but not bad. The stir fried garlic eggplant and string beans was so basic but so yummy! Service was quick and really like the vibes here. It was very homey and lounge, so perfect for group outings. Def would come back again!

I liked the meat ball with egg yolk stuffing, that dish was delicious. The chicken reminded me of orange chicken, was ok for me. The tofu puff was delicious, but the pork that came with it was a bit too salty for me, other than that, the dish was good as I really liked the squash that came with it.

Food 5/5Service 5/5Ambiance 3/5 Solid 4 Stars! Food was so yummy.Ordered Dry stir fried lamb with cumin and I believe Home style sautéed pork with vegetables. And side of rice. Delicious lamb dish. Enough food that we had it for dinner as well. Service was fast! This is far from my house but I will drive for their delicious food! Can't wait to try other dishes that I've marked on their menu.

I got three dishes for takeout:- Xiao Long Bao- Chicken Curry- Bok Choy with Mushrooms It was all pretty standard but I felt like the price was way high for what it was. The wrapping on the xiao long bao was too thick and there wasn't much soup, even when it was still warm. The chicken curry was pretty good and they give you a sizable portion for your serving. It was very flavorful and I like that they give you other onions and veggies. However, it was so oily - I think it was so oily that there was a film covering the bottom of the container after we finished eating. The Bok Choy was also really good and I would definitely get it again. It was fresh and super tasty. Overall - I think it's a solid meal but not the best I have had. I would consider going back and trying out some other dishes.
