Shabuway Japanese Style Hot Pot

Truthfully, I haven't been to Shabuway in a few years. We were craving something comforting on a cold Valentine's Day and saw Shabuway was still open. We decided to pop in for a late lunch and were only party there around 2pm. I noticed they offered a lunch special set during the weekdays, so we ordered the kobe beef set with miso broth, the lamb set with tonkatsu broth, and an extra order of kobe beef to split. The lunch sets come with your choice of rice or udon, a plate of assorted veggies, sauces to dip your meat in, a 5oz. plate of meat, your choice of broth, and ranged from $18-22 per set. Food came quickly and the meat was freshly shaven right after ordering. The thin slices of meat were easy to cook once the broth boiled and the meal was a great way to warm us up. Service was attentive and friendly. They were so sweet and even gave me some flowers for Valentine's Day when we were leaving. Definitely will be back in the future when we want a quick and easy meal!

這是一家日式的涮涮鍋，我從他$28吃到現在$42吃到飽。在現在火鍋雲集的矽谷這家店失去了很多的關注。這天剛好有空一個人來吃飯。在我印象裡這家店的醬汁是最合我胃口。簡單的柚子醬油配上蒜泥以及一些蔥花就是最好的醬料。早些年他們還有一些小點心給你吃，但是現在也被移除掉了。吃到飽的選項包括了蔬菜、飯、以及各類的肉。我把他們所有的肉都點了一遍，豬肉片是我覺得賣相最好的，油花分布的均勻且美麗。羊肉一般來說比較瘦，我個人比較不推薦。牛肉片的品質是可以了，但是在每片牛肉磚的賣相上會有很大的落差。例如圖片裡面那一盤牛肉很明顯的是兩塊不同的磚，即使味道上很一致，但是賣相上就差非常的多。我真的不知道為什麼他會把這一盤肉端出來，這大概是我在這家店吃過賣相最差的一盤牛肉了。由於現在的火鍋店非常的多，這家店現在都不需要排隊。好處是點菜很快就會上，但是缺點就是他們肉品的消耗速度沒有以前快，這也可能間接的導致肉品的新鮮度有所下降。大體來說我還是很喜歡這家店畢竟這些年來他的味道都沒有變過，這是值得嘉獎的。我給這家店四顆星。

High quality meat and even better service. Very generous with AYCE. I'm not typically a fan of beef but this place changed my mind. It's a very good deal as AYCE is $36-$40. Sauce is sooooo good. I love that they had many options for broth like tonkotsu and spicy miso. Def will be back!

Food was terrible, the meat felt raw and there was no flavor at all. It was all SUPER chewy. The waiter screamed at me when I tried to ask why the chicken didn't taste right. The restaurant itself is pretty nice looking, but the food and staff are terrible. DON'T COME HERE.

Shabuway has been around for a long time and Im so glad they still have a location in San Jose. Their broth is something that no one else cab replicate. They have the best sesame and ponzu sauce. I just wish they still offered their california veggie plate, which they discontinued about 2 years ago... meat quality is also very good.

We were able to get seated in 10 minutes on Mother's Day. I got the beef plate and my friend got the pork plate. She requested several vegetables to be removed however when they served the veggie plate, they were still served so I assume the veggies plates were pre-assembled. We both got the seaweed soup and its very bland and almost flavorless. If you want a very simple "broth" then this is for you. I personally would get something else next time.The beef, vegetables, noodles and sauces were all yummy! It came with some side condiments that I completely disregarded. I also ordered my combo in the regular size which was a good call since by the end of it I was super stuffed.The waitress/server was friendly, polite and attentive. I would definitely return for another meal in the future!

Was craving some shabu shabu/soup for dinner. The portions was on the smaller side, but i was definitely full with a medium portion of the meat. sadly there wasn't a huge selection of soup bases (see menu), but I did find I liked the tonkatsu soup base! It was light and slightly rich. The service was great, fast and efficient. The seating and dim lighting also gave the restaurant a cozy ambiance for a casual dinner with some friends or family! The prices were not bad at all, and quite affordable for shabu. I personally would opt to try other places, just simply because i enjoy having larger selection of soup bases :)

This place is so good and the meat quality is amazing. Staff is on point and gets things done. Super duper love this place. The hubs, Skye and Matthew and I love this place more than other hot pots because of quality.

Pretty good shabu style hot pot. It's not the best I ever had but it's still pretty good for what you get. Came here for lunch after hitting Kinokuniya Bookstore. We got the unlimited any meats with half seaweed broth and the tonkotsu broth. I love how you can see the meat being freshly shaven and the veggies come out fresh. I love the two sauces for the meat, I do not know what they were but both were delicious. Though we tried all the different meats, I think just getting the angus beef and pork is the best. They were the best tasting meats for me. The kobe and the lamb were just alright. I wished they had either lettuce or daikon sheets to eat the meat with. Very good service, they were attentive to the meats. The ramen noodles were a nice touch, but hard to fish out of the broth. The clear noodles were much more challenging. But love all the accoutrements provided. My only qualm was that we should have just gotten the tonkotsu broth because it tasted amazing. Located in a very busy shopping plaza. Parking can be a bit daunting, but eventually you will acquire a spot. A lot of different things to do before or after eating here. The space was very clean and the service was great. Great price for what you get. A very enjoyable experience and they do not rush you.

The food was great. Service was not great. Ambiance dangerous. I walked in and restaurant was half full. The floor was wet. A sign was out and we were cautioned. Our order was taken. Food was great. We got the ayce option. But we didn't get served properly. Our server ended up slipping and falling very hard onto the ground. But we did not get to put our next round of meat in. We actually waited almost an hour before someone came up to ask if we ever got our next round. The restaurant over sat themselves all at once. There were only 3 people working in the front. Way more than they can handle. This is a place I have enjoyed for almost a decade. I will give them another chance I just hope they do better. I also hope the server that fell is ok. They took a nasty spill.
