No, no, no! Yelp, you have led me astray! You have been missing out if you think this is good hot pot. The minimal savings at this AYCE hot pot is not worth the serious lack of flavor and quality (and seriously rude service). What is the point of leaving absolutely stuffed to the brim if you didn't even enjoy it? For $29.99 a person, we had our choice of broth (8 options to pick from) and meat (7 options to pick from). A semi-sketchy looking bar hosted some veggie options (but not many), seafood, starches, 3 kimchi options, and sauce ingredients. The price is competitive to another AYCE hot pot competitor across the street, however what sets this one apart as being the worse option if the two is the lack of variety, lack of flavor and quality, and rude service. For broth, we chose tonkotsu and original-- our waitress couldn't answer my question about which broth option is the "best", and we quickly learned why... the watered down broth sits in pitchers on a cart at the side of the restaurant. Once heated, there is zero flavor.... Zero. As we cooked our meat, all you could smell is boiled steak (which personally is a nauseating smell). There were more starch options to choose from than veggies, which I found disappointing. Competitors offer about 3x more veggies options, as well as more meat and seafood varieties. Besides the lack of flavor and options, the cherry on top of our disappointing experience was the rudeness (and pure meanness) of the service. Our waitress never cracked a smile, and staff would stare as they walked by (I think they wanted to close shop early for the night). We were seated adjacent to the waiter station, and through the entirety of our meal we overheard staff make fun of the customers. It was VERY uncomfortable. If you're looking for a $30 AYCE hot pot experience, Top Pot is right across the street and has much more appealing broth, food options, and friendly service (that won't stand around and laugh at you as you eat). Skip this!

The price and quality of the meat are this restaurant's biggest standouts. We had a party of 15 and paid $21.99 per person for AYCE hotpot. The restaurant is super spacious without being too loud, and is very clean and well maintained for an AYCE spot. I called to make a reservation a few days prior, and they were able to set aside a space for us to eat and sit with loved ones. The customer service over the phone is great, and I was given a call to confirm or make any changes to my reservation the night before. I loved the variety of meats and veggies to choose from, and the service of the meat was pretty fast for a group of our size. We ordered the Beef Top Blade and the Beef Short Plates for the entire meal, and I loved how tender and fresh they came out. The only small downside is that their service of the sides is a little slow-- we ordered the chicken karage, the spicy chicken karage, and the tteokbokkee, and both dishes took around 15-20 minutes to get to the table and the portions are very small. If you plan on getting cooked sides, make sure to order them at the beginning of the meal when you first order meat. Overall, I loved the restaurant because of the wide selection, the meat quality, and the customer service. All the servers were very kind and patient with us because they knew we had a large group. The lunch price is unbeatable, and we will absolutely be back!

AYCE hotpot Korean style. Mostly Beef options on the Premium Menu with one chicken and one lamb. Seafood options at the self serve cold bar section. All cuts were fresh and good with manageable portion size which allowed samplings of different meats. Broths were good but lacked some depth of flavor compared to some other hotpots or malatang in the area. Each diner gets their own personal pot here. Service was great for a Tuesday evening. No waiting and orders came out in a reasonable time. Sodas are not included and there are no refills. Overall, quite clean and comfortable dining. A couple TVs on the wall showing Fox News.

I saw the high reviews for this place, so my bf and I decided to try it. We liked that the restaurant had a wide selection of soup broths, meats, and sides. We also liked that you have your own individual pots and it's decently priced. We tried the spicy beef broth and it wasn't as spicy as we had thought it would be, which was good for me. There were dried chilis at the sauce bar that we added to the broth for an extra kick. We liked the chicken karaage and tried the tteokbokki, but I wasn't really a fan of the semi-sweet sauce. We tried a few different beef cuts and the lamb, and we loved every one of them. The sauce and sides bar had a lot of options. The only thing that I didn't like was that the sides bar didn't have labels so I couldn't confirm what I was grabbing. The sauce bar kind of had written labels on the glass, but it wasn't exactly clear which sauce was which. Service was pretty good for us. The waiters were attentive and friendly. I would come back here if I'm in the area and craving hotpot.

Been there twice and both times the service were not good!First time they took my credit card without returning it. I wasn't paying attention and when I got home (40 mins drive) I realized I didn't have my cc so I called the restaurant. The guy who answered the phone said my cc was there! No apologies at all. So I drove back to pick up my card. The server who took my card was there and she didn't apologize either. Seriously!! Second time I went with my whole family of 8. One of the hot plate was malfunction. We asked our server and she said she needed to her manager. Huh? The manager came over and saw the hot plate, her response was there was nothing she could do! Wow! We insisted to change table and she finally agreed with an unhappy face. Really? Is that my fault? The food was okayed, price is reasonable. Possibly will not return.

Key Points:- AYCE. But no other option for A la carte- Tons of meat options. More if you get the higher tier package- LAMB- tons of self serve seafood options. The Fam and I visited Shabu King for a family night out, and it was quite the experience! The Little One is finally old enough to be around a hot pot without too much worry, though we still kept her entertained with videos, just to be safe. The restaurant is all-you-can-eat, with no à la carte options, which might not be ideal for everyone. They offer two tiers: the Premium option and the King option. However, one drawback is that everyone at the table must select the same tier. If one person upgrades, the whole table has to, which limits options for such heterogenous preferences as my family. For broths, we tried a variety:- Spicy Beef Broth: Very spicy and acidic but also quite greasy--my least favorite.- Tonkotsu Broth: Rich, creamy, and flavorful. This was the clear winner, and the Mrs.' choice.- Original Broth: Herbally sweet and surprisingly good. Perfect for The Little one.The meat options were abundant, and we only got the premium option while the King had even more. We ordered ribeye, boneless short rib, beef blade, pork belly, and lamb. The lamb was the standout for me: deeply flavorful with that unique lamb taste that I personally love, though some call it gamey. Here's a tip for hot pot lovers: go for the more flavorful cuts like chuck or lamb. Since the meat is already sliced paper-thin, tenderness isn't an issue, and these cuts bring more robust flavors. For best results, cook the meat just until it turns brown (only a few seconds for a boiling pit) to enjoy it medium rare. The sides and condiments were plentiful, including hot appetizers like chicken wings (spicy and original), chicken karaage, gyoza, and even desserts like sesame balls (Jian dui). For hot pot add-ins, the selection was impressive: vegetables, tofu, fish balls, fish cakes, seafood (shrimp, octopus, mussels, and clams--though no scallops), and a variety of noodles including udon, fresh ramen, and others I couldn't quite identify. The pricing is reasonable at $28.99 per adult and $16.99 for kids, for premium. Though the King option at $32.99 could add up quickly if everyone at the table had to order it.Ambiance was quite casual for a last minute night out. Service could have used some improvement as we had to flag down the server for more meat. Plus, we never received ANY broth refills. By the end, our broth reduced down to a rich slurry. Overall, this place offers great value, an expansive menu, and delicious options for Shabu Shabu. While there were a few drawbacks, we'll definitely be back now that we know the ropes!

Came here as a first timer. We found this place on Yelp and decided to give it a try. It wasn't really busy when we went, so we got seated right away. Our waitress took our orders for drinks and side items. My daughter loved the strawberry soda pop, it came with a popsicle inside the drink. For our sides, we ordered tekkbokie, gyoza, French fries, and sesame balls. All tasted okay. For our broths, we ordered original, miso, spicy miso, and tonkatsu. For all your meats, veggies, and sauces, there's a self serve bar.Overall, this place is okay and the staff are friendly.
