This is the type of organization that makes Northern California wonderful and unique. The Sequoians is a members-only club. There are many members only clubs in Northern California. This one is unique in that it is the only clothing optional members only club. Where else can you go hiking with other clothing-free enthusiasts? The club features a heated swimming pool, a hot tub, hiking trails for both nude and clothed hiking, and lots of other amenities. They plan lots of activities, such as Saturday night potlucks that are a blast.Everyone is friendly. This club is a great place to make new friends. And the facilities are clean and well-maintained.

The west coast of America has several place like this, and I am very much grateful. Actually, there are clothes-free communities in most America states. This one is the "traditional" variety. That means it's not a "spiritual" place like Esalen, it's just people who enjoy being naked. So no big deal, really. There is a TV room, a pool, and some hiking trail (watch out for poison plant and rattlesnakes). I wish there was sauna. In fact, I'm not convince completely of the value of this type of clothes-free place. To be honest. But people enjoy and who am I to judge. Everyone should be able to pursue their happiness, as the America constitution says.Where I come from, no one ever think to do this. Religion is inside everyone's head in Italy, and the body is seen as bad. Which is crazy because sexuality is all over the culture there, from sunrise to sunset. But sexuality and nudity not same thing. To be naked and hike in the hills. Follow by swim and disco party, as the warm wind blow through the trees and over the grass. I also live during 70's decade, so, you know, I have been a bit wild. Not very wild, but more crazy than the poor young people of today. There is no hope for their happiness, I am thinking. Very sad.Anyways, this place has very chatty the people, some too chatty for me. Many smell of wine or marajuana. One old man has suntan, color of darkest leather.Check it out, maybe you like it, maybe not. I find it needs much work all over property, but you cannot be too mad. It is owned by everyone, there is no staff exactly. So, they try. And they have been doing since 1940's! Imagine that.

I visited the Sequoians Nudist Club for the first during a sponsored Meet-Up nude event to do a leisurely hike on a full moon night. We started hiking 30 min before sunset. By the time we got to the top of the ridge we saw a beautiful sunset on the west side while simultaneously watching a beautiful full big moon rise towards the east. It was magnificent! The following 3 weekends, I went to the camp during the day hours. I loved it so much, that soon after, I decided to join as an associate member and later to full membership. I love the grounds, the amenities, the campsites, the natural environment that includes a few deers, squirrels, and an occasional fox simply crossing the trails ahead of me. I am so happy and satisfied that I joined the Sequoians as a full member, I am now working on becoming a site owner where I plan to do frequent overnight stays in my tent and my three min pins. Eventually I plan to purchase a pop up camper and spend more time in this serene and peaceful environment together with the many fellow like minded resident nudists, guests and other visitors. This is truly a great place to charge up ones batteries. Check it out, stay for awhile and longer if you can!

For those who have experience with social nudity and resorts and such...you already know nudists/naturists are friendly people. More to the point, they tend to be inviting, non-judgemental and treat one another with dignity and respect as fellow human beings. Rather than by the standards of unobtainable physical beauty, social status, or the mask or personas which clothing creates. With that said, the Owner-Members of Sequoians have a warmth and friendliness that surpasses most! Now this isn't to cast dispersions upon other resorts and clubs...in my experience every nudist club/resort all roll out hospitality par excellance...merely...that Sequoians somehow manages to kick it up a notch. The grounds are a quaint ( and I do not mean that in some ironic or sarcastic way) and a bit rustic...but by no means uncomfortable or lacking. This place is a labor of love and its members have built and made improvements to the facilities and are fully invested in this wonderful piece of property and have turned it into a wonderful place to while away your time. For anyone considering a first time nudist experience...any nudist resort will make you feel included and welcome and be a great experience...but Sequoians will make you feel like you've always belonged!.I can't recommend Sequoians enough! My only complaint has ZERO to do with them...but the fact I live 2 1/2 hours away, otherwise I'd have become a member before my first visit ended.Experiened, Novice and First-timer alike...you'll love this place. So go already!

Met some really friendly people. Did some good hiking with amazing scenery. The weather didn't cooperate quite as expected, but was still a great experience. I will definitely be back.

Instead of overall reviews, I'll give newbies a few hints:This resort is (full) members owned as a non-profit organization. Meaning when you sign up as a full member, you joined ownership with your voting right.Sequoians is small and friendly. Unlike many of the other nude resorts, they are huge and very "commercial". 1. For a newbie, only arrive during weekend hours where office is staffed by member volunteers. Other hours, no one can accommodate you.2. 1st visit's tour (by a full member on duty) is clothed (you are welcome to be clothes free, but not necessary). After that if you intend to stay, "do in Rome as the Romans do". Especially DO NOT walk around pool area clothse on, you stand out like a sore thumb. 3. Restrooms are men/women separate, but shower facility (nice shower facility with hot water (3 shower booths/heads) on the side of the bathroom structure in the open, co-op style, Hey, it's a nudist place, no privacy here. (except for the ones taking a leak or doing the bowel thing.) foam soap is available at shower booths. 4. No restaurant on site, bring your own food/drinks (vending machine is available), there's a community room with fully equipped kitchen you can heat up your food. Indoor parties, potluck dinners are held here. 5. It's family nudism friendly, no open sexual conduct. Meaning if you get horny, get a room, seriously.6. Men to women ratio at about 3 to 1 or 4 to 1. mostly older or retired people living on the premise residents. (They are full members owning the house/structure but renting the "site" from "Sequoians Inc.")7. Day visits or camping encouraged. There's no "rooms" for rent.8. If you are trying to hook up with someone, chances are very very slim. You have better odds at any Starbucks.9. If you are thinking of gawking at hot chicks (women will have a slightly better odds seeing a few hot young guys), gawk behind your sunglasses. Once every blue moon you'll see hot chicks here with their significant others. Don't show your "physical" reaction if you can't stop your brain from dirty thoughts. Chances are you won't have any dirty thoughts as your brain will be assimilated feeling nudity is not different from having clothes on.10. Ask for a trail map from the office. Enjoy nude hiking on trails here, esp. Lower Ridge trail, Tree House trail and Vern trail, quite amazing. All are short and perhaps a little dangerous for inexperienced hikers. Wear hiking boots with hiking sticks. Enjoy!

Dear Yelp readers,I would like to retract a review I recently wrote about this club. It was written at a moment when I was feeling hurt about some personal frustrations and I unfortunately took it out on them. I love this club and it's members. I am truly embarrassed, ashamed for my mistake and for causing harm to a great club in our area. I am sorry for my mistake and I am remorseful for it and the harm I have caused to them. I hope if you are reading this review that you accept my sincere apologies. I do not know if this message of apology to everyone will change things but I am hopeful it will. This club is a first class nudist club and I encourage you to visit it when you get a chance during the open season which ends on October 31. Thank you. Sincerely,Carlos J.

My girlfriend and I had never been to a nude resort before, we spent the day here and what an amazing day it was. We lounged around the pool in the afternoon, talked to the regulars and the other new visitors (all of whom were very friendly,) ate dinner (make sure to bring your own food and plenty of drinks,) then we all watched a movie on the lawn before heading to their rec room where "DJ 420" played edm which was perfectly appropriate for the group and vibe of the night. We all danced the night away before heading to the hot tub to continue drinking until we couldn't stay awake any longer. It was truly a blissful day for us both and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone who may be on the fence about trying nude recreation.
