Scotty's Cafe

Been coming here for years. Each new owner seems to clean the place up and give solid breakfast food. I did not take an image of my food, sorry forgot. Ordered 2 eggs. Potatoes, hash browns and a biscuit with gravy. It was late in morning the bisques and gravy were delicious. Other parts of meal were also good. Place is cramped. Counter seats need attention. I'll be back.

The new dinners are amazing . Every thing is fresh and made from scratch including super yummy soups. The cheeseburger special is a fantastic value. I really think we need to support this local treasure!!

Easy parking Easy seating- basically find a spot Fair diner atmosphere- a little upkeep for the shared items like menus would help and be appreciated I like the menu and honestly my hubby brought me breakfast from here last summer but yesterday was my first time eating in. It seems like a Vallejo staple, I believe I read since 1937. I definitely have an affinity for Nostalgic locations.I had a Jacks scramble with spinach and mushrooms, sourdough toast, and hash browns; one teen had French toast; other teen pancakes with sausage and eggs (she ate my hash browns). Filling food, nice service, and oh, CASH ONLY.

This place used to be a gem in Vallejo but no longer. It is under new ownership and has really gone downhill. We went a few weeks ago and the place was not clean and in great need of a remodel. Seats were torn and dirty. The tables, and bar stools were also worn. The service is ok if you can get the servers on a good day. Ours was a little grumpy and seemed put out when we requested extra napkins, fresh cream for coffee, etc. Their cream is on the tables in an old fashioned silver server that sits on the table all morning so if you go for a late breakfast it has been sitting there for almost 4 hours and it didn't smell good. Their sugar is also kept in a very dirty used glass server with a flip lid that is always crusted over and doesn't look very clean. Our food came out cold and the hash brown potatoes were almost raw. (See photo) Another problem for us is that the place is "cash only". There is an ATM inside the restaurant and you are referred to it by the servers in a very grumpy manner if you even give them the slightest protest about not being able to use your credit card. I witnessed this happening about 3 times while we were there when someone tried to just come in for donuts at the counter. Also beware that this area has a lot of homeless and they sometimes hang out around the restaurant. High crime area so keep your valuables out of sight if you go. End of an era due to new ownership. We won't be back.

Really good food and friendly staff. Husband decided this was HIS diner after our visit. The donuts are great, too.

I have had breakfast in this popular restaurant that has a counter or booths to sit in for dine in guests. The breakfast was good and was served quickly at a good price. I also love the waitress, who's been there for a very long time. Quick tip- The DONUTS are really the thing here, made fresh every day, they are the most popular item to go for locals anywhere in Vallejo. Better than anything else anywhere nearby , if you want fresh donuts, this is the place. Get a dozen or more and you will be the favorite person at your gathering for sure!

Not too many spaces where there's a local diner anymore. It's less expensive than other spaces I've been in the area, and the building is more sound than others in town. Service is good, food is good, but the coffee doesn't quite stack up to a premium roast anywhere you go.

Great donuts, fantastic service and generous portions on breakfast. Only had breakfast here so don't know about the rest of the menu but they are only open breakfast and lunch and closed by 2pm. They only take cash and parking can be tricky sometimes but overall it's a good spot.

If you haven't tried Scotty's- or haven't in a while then GO. The new ownership has made for a really bright and happy atmosphere. The food is still great but now it feels really nice to be there. I'm watching employees laugh and have a happy time serving ppl and interacting with eachother. It's packed and everything is happening efficiently. It's really great to see they are doing an awesome job. Go To SCOTTY'S!

Great food, nice staff and the place is like an old diner. We have been looking for a nice diner and this place fits the bill.
