Santoro's Italian Market & Deli

We were in town for our son's water polo tournament at Encinal High School. During a break between games, we went out for a quick bite and found Santoro's about a couple minutes away.Santoro's is located on the corner of a residential area so you'll need to park on the street. However, the location is part of the charm as you feel like you've stepped back in time when you enter Santoro's. You're greeted by a friendly crew and asked to fill out your order slip. We ordered a couple of sandwiches which were bigger than we expected with layers of delicious roasted meat and all of the condiments. I had the chicken sandwich and highly recommend it.The staff was very attentive and checked on us regularly to make sure we were enjoying our sandwiches. You can tell this is the neighborhood spot as locals came in to grab their usual orders and have a quick chat with the staff/owners.

Customer service is always great. I come here when I want a REAL sandwich. This place does not skimp on anything. Everything tastes fresh and yummy!

I've heard nothing but good things about Santoro's so I had to make my way up there.I called ahead to ask for their business hours and the man on the other end offered to take my order and have it ready. I didn't want to order ahead because my drive up could be anywhere from 50 min to over an hour but they assured me the order would be ready and fresh so I ordered a pastrami and turkey with Vermont cheddar on Dutch crunch. We got there and found some street parking in a residential area. I'm always hyped when I visit a deli that offers fresh sandwiches and even more when they use quality meats like Boar's head. I walked up and there was one person ahead of me. I saw my sandwich with my name ready to go. Everyone that I spoke to was very friendly and welcoming. I paid for my sandwich and headed out. My kiddo like myself was excited to open up the sandwich. My kiddo asked for the other half as I took my first bite. My kiddo ended up enjoying it so much I had to make a u-turn and grab another exact same sandwich except this time we tried the French roll. The Dutch crunch and meats and cheese all combined for a delicious flavor. It didn't have lettuce tomatoes or onion which usually is a must for me in sandwiches but that did not compromise the flavor at all. The second sandwich had all the fixings and a French roll and I enjoyed the first one more. My kiddo enjoyed the Dutch crunch one so much and is for sure a forever fan of this spot. I did think the bread was a bit dense on both breads but the Dutch crunch is always my pick. There was a variety of drinks and chips. I even found chips straight from Mexico! Of course I bought a bag and they were spicy af lol! The interior can feel small when there's a line of people inside. Everything is clean and tidy. There's a selection of so many different items to indulge in. There's tables inside and it just feels like you're stepping into your families kitchen. Everyone was welcoming and so happy to serve you. Definitely enjoyed my visit with my family and look forward to visiting again.

Don't order from here with doordash that Italian combo costs $20 not the $15 they advertise on the menu..the meat was quality but for the cost not a great portion. Also I had to get a refund due to them charging $17 for bread, cheese and mayo, who would actually order that and pay that. Definitely not impressed

Always greeted with a hello, and a wonderful smile. Then next question is did you phone in your order? If you didn't phone in your order get there early! Now the SANDWICHED, SUBS or as I like to call YumYum for the TumTum are absolutely delicious! No skimping on meat or toppings, fresh ingredients! If I have to leave a complaint it's that they sell out almost daily! So plan accordingly or you'll need to make other arraignments for your meal.

Large, great tasting sandwiches...worth the price. They use fresh-daily, quality breads, meats, and topping.

The owner is often grumpy and insulting. His wife is lovely. Really good sandwiches and I like supporting small businesses but won't put up with his poor interpersonal skills. Too many other options.

Authentic Italian products. Mike made a beautiful deli tray for Christmas. His lasagna was hands down the star of the night. So delicious! If you want a fresh sandwich custom made for your liking come here. Best service! It's an old school Italian delicatessen without any nonsense!
