We held my daughter's first birthday party in the Terrace Room and this venue does have a lot of things going for it - plenty of parking, free tables and chairs for the Terrace Room, the option to go with your own caterer, the ability to work on and submit the layout virtually through the Planning Pod website. Travis Russey, our main point of contact, was also fairly responsive and able to answer all of our questions and walk us through the rental process without a hitch. The event went smoothly and the day-of attendant, Aiden, was able to help me and another new mom find a separate space to nurse in and he also handled the trash and recycling at the end of the event (another big convenience). However, our event was in late October and we still needed to completely draw the window blinds because when we arrived to set-up, the room was starting to become quite hot. This experience mirrors Cindy L.'s experience to a degree and it is something to look out for if you consider the Terrace Room in particular for your event. There is also sometimes the option to drop off things to the room the day prior to your event if there isn't another event scheduled. I worked this out with Travis, but when I went the afternoon of Friday, October 25, 2024 to drop things off, I got a really cold almost dismissive reception from the receptionist seated at the front desk while her colleague, another woman, asked me what I was doing there and what specifically I was dropping off in a really brusque manner. She eventually opened the door for me and allowed me to drop off some of the decor, but I thought both of them were strange choices for the "front of house" if you will. Maybe it was a bad day or maybe I encountered the same people Kayli T. did.

Sadly, I do not recommend this place for events. We specifically sought out an indoor venue for my son's first birthday in July because we knew it was going to be hot. We live in Southern California but have family out in the Bay Area and surrounding areas so it was not easy to find a venue without physically having been there before. I will give San Ramon props for this because their website was helpful with the video tours and the ease of booking through emails/online payment was very convenient. Unfortunately, when the day for the party came, it had to be about 100 degrees through a heatwave. But no problem, we thought, we had prepared for this because our venue is indoors! As soon as I walked into the terrace room, it was stifling HOT. And I believe the staff knew something was wrong with the a/c because they had two floor fans going in the room. Why would we need floor fans in the room if the a/c is working correctly???When I went to inquire with staff, we only got more floor fans, the door to the patio was closed and the blinds were drawn but it was still very hot in the room. The rest of the building was fine so I'm not sure why that room was hot. We vacated the room earlier than our rented time slot because all our guests left early due to the heat in the room. I kindly let Travis know about the situation and asked for some compensation, seeing as we are from Southern California and had to pay premium fees for non-residents. We specifically drove all the way out here for a party, that would presumably be cool during the summer, and that is NOT easy to travel with two little ones. Unfortunately, my request was denied because they stated the a/c was indeed working, which I disagree with. I have about 50 guests that would disagree with this statement.

My review is a reflection of my experience on 3/1/19 at around 1:00 p.m. The lady that works here clearly avoided me as I walked in and as I approached the front desk. She turned and walked away from me, and started a conversation with another lady, turned to look at me as if to check if I was still standing there waiting. She still did not acknowledge me, yet turned and walked around to the other side of the desks, even farther away from me. I had to say "excuse me!" two times loudly, to even get her to look at me. And when she did, she didn't even say a thing. People can be just so rude. Seriously. You work here at a community center, therefore, you must fulfill the duties. And one of them is providing good customer service. And in general, just be nice and polite. And simply, just do your job! She should be grateful she even has a job.The other lady that she was talking to was even nice enough to point me an option. Now, that is good customer service!

We just planned our latest event at this facility. Have nothing but good things to say about the staff and venue. We of course completely transformed the space with an under the sea theme for a Quinceanera.

When my husband and I were researching for places to have our wedding reception we found San Ramon Community Center. We fell in love with the venue right away! We had the fountain view room which consisted of seeing the fountain outside and had a little rose garden next to it! Travis was very helpful with all our questions and needs in regards to the venue. The place was so spacious and beautiful!

I signed up for course that was listed as Beginner/Intermediate Ukulele. At the first session there were about 8 intermediate players and only 2 of us were beginners. The instructor determined that the course would be for intermediate players and we would have to wait until the next course. However I still had to pay a $6 processing fee. This is an UNFAIR and basically POOR administrative policy.

Sad the other reviewer renting the center out for the wedding had a bad experience because we had an awesome one. Kevin and team were easy to work with, they were responsive and quick. Kevin helped with the seating arrangement and worked around our huge guest list. He also personally emailed us to let us know the deposit was returned after the event and that we were good to go! Would highly recommend them to our family and friends and would love to host another event here :)

Wellllll.... I JUST SAW A FAT, DYING RAT ON THE SIDEWALK IN FRONT OF THE FOUNTAIN GATE NEXT TO THE PARKING LOT... as in, it was alive but barely moving and the flies were swarming it.With all the graduation picnics and indoor and outdoor parties serving so much food, it's not a surprise that rats would find their way there. I had a nice walk around the park where several graduation celebrations were happening and toured the inside of the center where a new TEDx was wrapping up, but then coming across the huge rodent with its disgusting long curled up tail on the way out kind of ruined the afternoon. Where there is one there has to be many.
