Roberto's Donuts suffers the "we sell donuts and tons of other things" syndrome which is good if you are looking for not just donuts but not too helpful if you are looking for quality donuts at odd hours. This place is open pretty late and I had a hankering for some late night donuts when I saw this nearby place on Yelp. This place has plenty of parking as it is located in a small grocery plaza and the outside simply has the word "Donuts".Walking in around 9 pm, the two slot machines accepting cash only drew my attention. One wall had cold drinks in a cooler but it looked like the chair was blocking it so I decided against it. Since there is a $10 minimum for card purchases, I chose several donuts and a honeydew smoothie because I needed donuts in my life at that point. When waiting for my smoothie to be made, I noticed that the store also sold tamales which I thought was great but nobody would expect that at a donut shop unless already pointed out on yelp or by a friend who had already visited.I only gave this place two stars because the donuts were obviously made in the morning and sat out in the display until I had pointed at them and the honey dew smoothie tasted like powder and milk blended with ice; definitely not a fresh fruit smoothie. In short, come here if you absolutely must have donuts or you're ordering tamales in advance. Otherwise, there are fresh donuts elsewhere!

Come for the donuts, stay for the tamales. Really! The donuts are a front for great handmade tamales hecho por la mama de Roberto.

Good morning I fell in love with the place last night. Going to a detour route due to construction on the road and I could not get off on tennis and and Hayward so open and I went in and it Donuts look nice and everything else but the tamales I just vomit not too long ago 30 minutes prior to eating the chicken tamale and I was scared because I gave my three-year-old one. Shouldn't take long to give me your best he can't give me anything that's old. I had tamales better from the people who sell tamales outside of Walmart and never had any problems or gotten sick. It's been awhile since I have gotten food poisoning.

I'm still quite shocked that this donut shop hasn't been reviewed yet. Part of me wants this place to stay a gem of a secret, but the halo-side of me is saying that I should share the love and send more patrons its way. :) Prices are reasonable and staff is friendly. They serve a variety of drinks [coffee, hot cocoa, frosty cold beverages] as well. Now you can't really call it a hole-in-the-wall, as it sits in the complex that houses the likes of Grocery Outlet, Tin Fu and Taqueria San Marcos, but it might as well be. It's wedged between Street Beat and Ladies First Fitness Center (a fact that I've always found amusing). They serve the standard donuts [old-fashioned, glazed, crumb, twist, etc.], and also a few creations of their own [glazed twist laced with chocolate and apple-filled crumb donut (!), to name a couple]. I gave my "apple fritter - crumb donut" test and they passed. The crumb donut was light and fluffy and crumbly and good. I am, however, more partial to the cake-like crumb donut, which I don't think they serve. The apple fritter was nom-nom-tastic. Crispy outside but fluffy and moist inside. Just a perfect combination. Donuts don't keep overnight... but then again, they're not meant to. ;D

I had a sudden craving for donuts one night while driving back to home. A quick yelp search got me to this quaint little place.I was a bit worried that with only 2 reviews from last year, this place might be long gone. But alas, it was still open at 8pm!All the donuts I bought are just de-li-cious! I couldn't resist but to steal a bite of the applefritter on the way home, and it got my appetite starting loud and clear that I devoured 2 before I crawled into my bed.Price is a tiny bit more expensive than other places, but taste wise, its totally worth the money.

Second time coming to Robertos donuts and let me tell you, the donuts are great. They taste bomb and they are not oily as I have had at other donut shops. Also, they have fresh squeezed juice made at a reasonable price. We will be back!
