I'm giving this place 3 stars due to its overpriced menu. It's a cozy little place, but I won't say it has the most amazing food but I'll say it's certainly one of the better choices when craving Italian around Fremont area. This chicken dish was just little dry but overall with spicy it made up for the dryness. Their fish of the day was fantastic but I warn you to rethink if you're on a first date to be mindful of the bones it comes with . Overall I would still recommend you try this place.

I'm not sure why there have been so many negative reviews lately, but I recently tried this place with a friend and had a great experience. I was surprised to find an Italian restaurant right in my neighborhood. It's a low-key, quiet spot with a unique vibe--not crowded at all, which I actually really enjoyed. It's a great place for a meeting or a nice dinner. The food was excellent--we tried a variety of pastas, appetizers, desserts, and even sampled different wines. Everything was great, and I'd definitely love to come back again!

The ambiance was nice, it is a cozy space and feels intimate. We also had pretty good service, they offered pepper and parmesan for our pasta dishes. Unfortunately, we felt the food was pretty overpriced for what it was. We ordered the beef lasagna, cannelloni in cream sauce, and the salmon capellini. The food was decent but not necessarily worth the price (especially the dessert, we got the ricotta pistachio cake to share but it was $15 per slice).

Three of us were out and about for Fremont Restaurant Week, and when next door Papasan was closed for remodling and only doing takeout, we decided to pop in here and try it out. The waiter was responsive and friendly, and was able to list out all the specials in great detail. The ambiance was quaint and cute, with lots of images of Italy all around the dining room. However, the food was just meh for the price. The sole was pretty good, but nothing to rave about, and the spinach salad was fine, but seemed pricey. The risotto had too much of a sun dried tomato flavor that overpowered the dish, and the scallops were small and on the chewy side.At the end, the waiter did not give us the Restaurant Week sticker, saying that we had to buy the $90 dinner special to qualify. This probably wasn't his fault though...and likely what he was instructed. However, we did get an email the next day from Fremont Restaurant Week advertising the event and reiterating that you did not have to buy the special to get the sticker (and each sticker is a raffle entry). No big deal, but just a note. I remember coming here about 10 years ago and liking it a lot, so maybe I just ordered the wrong items.

Had a chance to try this cute restaurant and glad I did! I came here with my fiancé and some family friends who were treating us out for our engagement. The ambiance here and service was really nice and cozy. When here we ordered some champagne which was delicious. For appetizers we got:* caprese - yummy and refreshing, would get this again!* bruschetta - this was delicious and crispyFor our main entrees we tried:*lobster ravioli - this was delicious and creamy, and I liked the addition of sun dried tomatoes. I will say the portion was very small though * chicken fettuccini - the boy got this and did not enjoy the flavor. I had a chance to try it too and this dish definitely lacked flavorFor dessert we got:* tiramisu - this was okay but standard* ricotta cake - forgot the full name for this dish but this was really yummy and fresh. I would order again!Overall the portions here are small for the price and some dishes can improve on flavor, but overall a cute romantic spot for a date night or girls night!

Definitely agree with everybody calling this place a hidden gem bc it is so unsuspecting! The interior is beautifully decorated & it definitely has a nice romantic feeling to it -- you can totally tell it's family owned! The servers are very attentive & check in with you often.Visited on a Sunday around 6:30 but they weren't too busy & seated us immediately. We each ordered Italian sodas (I would definitely recommend the Strawberry -- it is quite sweet though!), the Insalata Rucola, Bruschetta, Lasagna Bistecca, fettuccine con pollo and fettuccine carbonara. Although they are single servings, we decided to family style them in order to try each dish (and honestly it was really filling this way too!)They give you a basket of the softest, most pleasant bread to eat with balsamic + olive oil to start! For this reason I would probably skip the bruschetta... unless you don't mind carb loading or bringing the bread home. The insalata rucola was pretty good (I would order it again!!) but I would say that I wish there was more on the plate! Each of us only grabbed a small forkful and finished it immediately as well. In my opinion, I thought the lasagne bistecca noodles were a bit too cooked and felt extremely soft (the person who ordered it said it was his favorite dish though!). I also thought that the two white sauce dishes could use a sprinkle or two of salt just because the flavor is extra mild (but there are salt and pepper shakers on the table, you can always add more salt but you can't take away saltiness!) I personally enjoyed the carbonara the best.Overall, I would recommend this place & totally come back.

Lived in Fremont for 25 years, wanted a local place to go for dinner, found them based on reviews. Typically cross the bridge but decided we didn't want to on New Year's Eve. The service was great, the food was excellent and it was a great way to kick off 2025!!!(Nice pour on the wine!!!!)We no longer need to cross the bridge for Italian food!

This place was straight up nasty! My noodles were hard, the shrimp seemed overcooked, and the sauce was bland! Never coming here again

Avoid This Place - Overpriced and UnderwhelmingWe were in town for an event and craving quality pizza. A quick Google search led us to Ristorante il Porcino, which looked promising online. In reality, it's a tiny spot in an outdated strip mall. The restaurant was empty when we arrived for dinner, yet we were about to be seated uncomfortably close to the only other diner. When we requested a table instead of a cramped booth, the host was noticeably unfriendly. Then came the first red flag--no pizza on the dinner menu. When I asked, I was told they don't serve it at night. At that point, we should have left, but we stayed because the pasta photos looked decent. Shortly after, another group arrived, and instead of spacing them out in the nearly empty restaurant, the host crammed them directly behind us, forcing us to squeeze in our chairs.Hoping the food would make up for the poor service, I ordered the Antipasti alle Italiana ($25). What arrived was an absolute joke--one thin slice of prosciutto draped over melon, two sad slices of what I doubt was authentic Italian salami (one of which was burned from being under the broiler), it was probably cheap salami they use on their pizzas and why are they even cooking a cured meat for an antipasto!? Also, everything drowned in cheap balsamic vinegar. It was beyond disappointing and downright infuriating for the price.Service was painfully slow, and our water glasses were constantly empty. For my main course, I got the Tortellini del Chef--cheese tortellini in a pink cream sauce with peas and parmesan. The flavor was good, but the portion was tiny, and despite the steep price, it was clearly not handmade pasta. Everyone at our table agreed--the food tasted fine, but the portions were ridiculously small. I had hoped for parmigiano reggiano cheese but it was not. The final insult? A bill of over $160 for one appetizer and four small pasta dishes. We had to stop at In-N-Out afterward because we were all still hungry. No one should leave a restaurant needing another meal--especially after spending that much.Do yourself a favor and skip this place. The food is overpriced, the service is terrible, and the experience is not worth it. If you arrive here, the Indian restaurant on the end looked pretty good and I'm sure you'll leave full.
