Renaissance Specialty Cakes and Desserts

We were planning a pre-parenting party and wedding event at our home. Our event planner suggested Renaissance and I'm so glad she did. We started off with a tasting box to get acquainted with the bakery's take on cakes. We loved the chocolate with salted caramel, and the summer berry. So we placed an order for a wedding cake to serve 75 people. Beth the baker spent time with us on the phone to decide the number of layers, flavors, and design. We came up with a 3-layer cake that would feature flowers to coordinate with my bouquet and our decor. Everyone loved the cake and the flavors, especially the chocolate with salted caramel. My mother, who is usually very critical of cake, said the summer berry was the smoothest cake she's ever had. The cake turned out beautifully, the delivery process went really well, and I only wish we had ordered more since everyone loved it so much!

Beth is an amazing chef and pastry artist, owner of her craft and design. She created an amazing work of art as my wedding cake two years ago and I failed to capture that in a post. My husband just reminded me as we got two years this month I didn't order him his favorite cake from Renaissance ‍ order to come! Highly recommend

Oh, if I could give this baker 10 stars, I would! Beth is a truly talented baker with a passion for what she does. Her cakes are exquisite as well as gorgeous to look at!I ordered a cake for a special gathering of 20 people and within this gathering there were 10 birthdays! Beth was so easy to work with, and made lots of helpful suggestions. She had no problem writing all the things I asked her to write on the cake.From start to finish, Beth was a perfectionist and did everything right! I first bought her tasting box, which is where you choose a sample slice from 6 of her cakes to decide from. I chose the dark chocolate mousse cake, which was the most exquisite, decadent, and richly dark chocolatey cake I have ever tasted. It was a HUGE success at our party, and so many people wanted to know where I got the cake from and commented on how they loved the deep rich chocolate, which was not overly sweet. Everyone from the party wanted to take home a piece of cake as a leftover, in fact they clamored for it! I also got half a dozen of plain vanilla cupcakes in case there were those who could not eat chocolate. These plain vanilla cupcakes were also exquisitely decorated and delicious through and through.This chocolate mousse cake was the cake that catapulted Beth to local fame in the cake world when she was in Seattle. This cake was so delicious and I got so many compliments on it, I'm going to go to Beth for all my cake needs!

These are the BEST tasting cakes and desserts you will ever taste. Being married to a baker myself I believe I am a good judge of baked goods. The staff is friendly and courteous.

i can't say anything more better about beth! she is so freaking awesome! she was able to come through for my 21st bday when no one else couldn't! i appreciate it so much!! and i showed her a photo of what i wanted she did just thought and even better!!! i was so happy and delighted to see my cake. my guest and family said it was a beautiful cake and they couldn't believe it had real roses on it!! yessss!!! it tasted so delicious! she was also able to use whip cream for me because i buttercream is too sweet for me (most other bakers couldn't work with whip cream) her pricing is super fair!!! other bakers were charging me outlandish prices!!! i was super shocked and was just gonna bake the cake myslef, which i really didn't want to, no time and too much to buy and spend. when she told me the price hunnnny!! i said yupppp, shes doing my cake for sure. and she had beautiful work in the past. everything was so custom, ordering was super easy with her. such a sweet lady!! thank you soooo sooo much beth!! i will be back this halloween for my moms bday!! yeeeee she's my go to baker fron now on for sure. see you soon in october!! a+++++++

I ordered a 10" Berry cake for my daughter's 1st birthday. It looked beautiful and the filling was delicious!

I had to order a baby shower cake at the last minute ( previous bakery fell through). I called Beth at Renaissance Specialty Cakes and Desserts. Although she was completely booked up for specialty cakes, she was so kind to squeeze me in and work with me in designing a basic cake that would match the baby shower colors and theme. I was blown away when I picked up the cake! It was anything but basic! It was absolutely beautiful! The cake was also delicious! I can't wait to order from Renaissance again!

What can I say...Beth was very knowledgeable and helpful regarding the design of the cake. She had it ready on time, and was very communicative throughout. Re: the cake itself, it was red velvet, with cream cheese layers, black buttercream with red and blue icing. AND IT WAS DELICIOUS. At a point, I was standing in front of it with a fork and going to town. Even my partner, who isn't a sweets person, LOVED it. The thing with Beth's baking, which I really dig, is that her baking style is more European. So it's not exorbitantly over-sweetened like American desserts typically are. Can't recommend highly enough, you won't be disappointed!

If you are planning on having a cake at your special event, Renaissance Specialty Cakes and Desserts is the place to go to! Elizabeth is an accomplished baker, very professional, and has a very pleasant way about her. Just this past year, we have ordered two cakes from her - a very elegant, incredibly moist and delicious passionfruit and mango wedding cake, and for my husband's retirement party, a Tiramisu cake also very delicious and unique.It was a pleasure working with Elizabeth, and I highly recommend her!

Elizabeth is quite frankly one of the best bakers in the bay! I asked for a specific cake and she delivered. Details all the way to the taste! I ordered a chocolate cake with a custom design. Cake was rich, tasty, & had people falling in love with each bite they took! I Recommend you come buy a cake from her. Great communication and care.
