Dope little spot, with great coffee, awesome croissant, and super nice service. Decided to give this spot a try to study at. A good amount of seating. The coffee tasted good. The pastry was huge and delicious. Overhears other regulars asking for a muffin and other pastries, but they ran out of some. So I'm assuming all the other pastries are def worth trying. I have been meaning to come to Rasa's new location in downtown Oakland, so today I stopped by in the morning to order a matcha latte, 12 oz, which is $5.75 before tip. I opted for whole milk and unsweetened. The menu has changed since the old location, there are milks (non caffeinated drinks) and also pastries offered now. There's indoor seating, pastel pink walls with framed art, and Rasa merch for sale on a shelf.They still honor the loyalty punch cards from the old Berkeley location.The drink was made within a few minutes, but I was underwhelmed by it. I thought the milk ratio was too high and matcha flavor too mild. I would not recommend the matcha from Rasa, especially since the drink is not cheap. I'd suggest sticking to their other coffee drinks or the chai since those were really good, and more unique/distinctive, from what I remembered of their old location.

I used to go to the Berkeley location before it closed and now like the newer location better because it's bigger and has room for about 5 tables and a bar on the wall with chairs. They still have the best rose latte I have found in the Bay Area. I believe they use more rosewater and less sugar syrup in the flavoring. It is definitely more fragrant. The café is close to Lake Merritt so perfect for a walk afterwards.

Rasa Caffe opened where Modern Coffee once was. Walls have been retrofitted with interesting artwork. Background music similar to heavy metal rock music. Greeted upon entry. Studied menu, ordered, got drink quickly. Offerings: chai, latte, coffee, pastries..Drink: cold brew, light ice (5)-interesting smooth brew with a subtle taste of cardamom. Seldom taste a cold brew like this.4.5 stars-Rasa is a welcoming place with it's vibrant decor, interesting drinks/bites, lively music & helpful associates..

The newest coffee shop in the area just opened in the former Modern Coffee location. The spot is cozy with a few tables in it, so it's good for take out as well as sit down for a couple people at a small table. Coffee is good and pricing is comparable to other coffee shops. It's still new so I'm giving 4 stars and will adjust up or down over time. I work a block away so I'll be visiting here often.

Very friendly service. Great pastries. Golden milk was very soothing. Ambiance is quiet and relaxed.

I love their chai!!! They used to have a location in Berkeley but had to move to Oakland. I wish it was closer.

I had their Chai latte, which was deliciously spicy and rich in flavor. I can't wait to go back and try their coffee, which also looked great. The staff person there was also quite helpful and friendly.

Went in one day because I was around downtown Oakland and had heard good things about the Chai. Went back the next day because the Chai was so good and I had to have it again! It's spicy, flavorful, and you can request for it to be lightly sweetened.

One of the best coffee shops in downtown. In particular I would say their strengths lie in their more exciting flavors, such as the dirty chai, or the rose latte, but their regular brews are also divine
