Get the double cheeseburger w/ everything w/ xtra mayo - you will not regret it! Better than "speciality burgers" that cost 2x as much.

Really good food. Prices are good. The lady who takes your order is super sweet. The parking can be hard since it is downtown but definitely worth it! Posting updated menus

We discovered this place in the middle of the pandemic and have tried to come here like twice a month. The shop is run by a cute couple who are welcoming and grateful for our patronage. We always get the veggie burger and cheeseburger with fries. The food is always made to order and very fresh when we walk it the 10 minutes or so back to our home. The veggie patty is organic and has things like kale, beans, nuts in it. The lady will tell you a memorized list of you ask about the ingredients. The cheeseburger at this place is good because it's a good size, cheap, and is cooked well done. We hope this place is able to survive the pandemic as they also cook breakfast foods here (their egg and cheese croissants are pretty good!).

I love this place. Small gem of an old style cafe, cheap as heck and quality is on point!!I usually come here for breakfast or the double cheeseburger. I've eaten my fair share of burgers/smash burgers, and hands down this is the closest I've had to an Official Smash Burger that cost 2x as much. It's a basic cheeseburger but just so tasty!!

Prospect Park is definitely something of an outlier, as John S. describes. It's clearly an old diner, a remnant of a former downtown, located in that first wedge between Telegraph and Broadway, next to a bar and Soul Provisions, and the Both Sides Convenience. One of the few spots offering a dedicated breakfast, and solid lunch options, you know this place is hurting in a Covid world as offices are closed and regulars working from home. But for those of us who did live in the area, this isn't a place to avoid. For one thing, the prices are hard to beat. Not a lot of options offering a sandwich, fries, and a can soda for $10. Sure, most lunches in the area are only $15, but there is something nice about still getting a full lunch for $10. A second thing is the options, and I don't mean all day breakfast either (which is nice as breakfast is awesome). I mean they have some cold sandwiches, grilled sandwiches, and a ton from the grill like burgers, cheese steaks, and even teriyaki plates. The first time I went, I tried the salmon burger. It wasn't bad! Sure, there are a ton of burger and chicken sandwich options in the area, so I felt a salmon burger was different, and I could lie to myself it was healthier. On my most recent trip I was craving a non-fried chicken sandwich and remembered they do a chicken teriyaki sandwich combo. It was really good, I like teriyaki and mayo together, and the chicken was moist and cooked perfectly. I inhaled the thing and then went to town on my fries. Not quite steak fries, but a thicker cut and very tasty. On another recent trip (trying to support local!) I got to try their cheese steak. Wow! Not as big as some of the other cheese steaks in the area, but the flavor! Having been disappointed by Wonder Philly, getting a flavorful cheese steak was such a delight. I honestly am trying not to order it every time I arrive. So if looking for a no thrills, cheap, quick, and tasty option, can highly recommend Prospect Park. Also the couple who own/run it are such nice people and they could use the business right now. I'm definitely trying to frequent them more often during this, and will hit them up for breakfast and update the review.

I honestly don't know what's better here, the customer service or the food. 10 stars (5 for both). The woman at the register is sweet as pie. She's always so kind and polite and not just for tips, she's really a genuinely sweet person. And this place no matter what you get the food will be great!! 10/10

They have an extensive menu of diner type breakfast and lunch items. Very solid cheeseburger and fries. The burger is made fresh and tastes excellent. I like their fairly priced lunch specials. I haven't tried their breakfasts as I rarely eat pancakes, etc. The owners are welcoming and friendly. More people should be checking this place out!

Prospect Park is a bit of an enigma. Its sits in the high-rent district of Downtown Oakland, yet has the cheapest prices in Oakland. I'm not sure how they are able to offer their prices at the low price point that they do.The restaurant is family run, and has had the same owners for quite some time. This is not a date spot, and definitely not fancy. This restaurant is to be used for descent food at low prices. The portions are slightly smaller than what you would receive at one of the trendier places down the street, but still the value is there. The best deal in the house is the breakfast menu. You can get a breakfast of pancakes, eggs, bacon and coffee - out the door - for $12. One thing to note about this place if you are hunting for a brunch spot.... they are closed on Sundays.
