I can't believe I only just discovered Pomet! It's a cozy little gem in the Piedmont area.I came in without a reservation and ended up sitting at the bar. Since we had already ate dinner elsewhere, we came here for a light snack. We ordered the ugly mushroom caramelle and the hokkaido milk rolls. The ugly mushroom caramelle was so good! It was filled, creamy with a variety mix of mushrooms, and the breadcrumbs and sunchoke chips added the perfect texture. The Hokkaido milk rolls were simple and classic. I was expecting a small portion as appetizers, but it ended up being quite filling!I'm a little bummed I ate somewhere else earlier because I would've loved to try more of the menu but definitely an excuse to come back. Our server was so sweet, and the service was 11/10. It's a bit on the pricey side, but definitely worth it for a treat or special occasion. I recommend this place and I can't wait to return!

We came here for dinner on a Saturday night after 7pm with no reservations and were surprised to get seated right away. We sat out in the patio w/ heaters so it wasn't too cold. They offered a sake tasting, so we had to try them. We ordered a few starters, the little gem salad, the crispy tots were amazing and broccolini. For the entree we both ordered the petrale sole with a glass of chenin blanc and it was delicious. Everything we ordered was amazing and the service, 5 stars. It was a real treat!

We went to Pomet to celebrate a birthday. The service is top notch! Our server and the staff were very attentive; wiping the table after our appetizers and main meal, refilling water carafe and our water glasses. We made reservations for 4 on a Saturday night, and the restaurant was full. The ambience was chill and relaxing. You could have a nice conversation at your table without hearing conversations from other tables.Their menu changes, so you may not see the same items on the menu that we ordered. The food was really good. We did family style; sharing our appetizers and entrees. Our favorite appetizers dishes were: the ugly mushroom filled pasta and the crunchy Liberty duck leg. The miso butter sauce in the ugly mushroom was tasty; not too salty. The pasta balanced out the sauce and texture of the mushroom. The crispiness of the duck with the tenderness of the duck meat was heavenly. It was one of our favorite dishes. We also ordered the Turnip tots and Pappardelle with meat. It was okay. For our entrees, we ordered the 15 oz NY Strip steak, the Char Siu with lettuce wrap leaves and the Butternut squash Risotto. The steak was cooked perfectly - medium rare. Every bite was perfect! The Char Siu was good. We had to cut the the pieces into smaller bite size chunks before adding it into our lettuce wrap. The risotto had good flavors and it was a lighter dish to balance the two meat entrees.Dessert was carrot cake and a chocolate tart. The carrot cake was delicious and moist with good flavors. The chocolate tart was good. All and all, the service was exceptional and the food very good. This is a Michelin green star rated restaurant, so be prepared for an expensive meal. Also, as much as I like to share photos of our dishes, the lighting was too dark.

Love the casual, chic vibe at Pomet. The menu is elegant and decadent while the atmosphere is easy and comfortable. Since I made our reservation just hours before, we were only able to get a patio table. I was a little concerned since it's the coldest month of the year, but the restaurant provides heaters and even soft, fluffy blankets for outdoor diners. I didn't even need a jacket. Every staff member was professional, courteous, and attentive. The food was superb. Our favorites were the milk bread with cultured butter, broiled oysters, ugly mushroom dumplings/ravioli, crispy fried duck leg, broccolini, and rice pudding. We absolutely have to come back to try more dishes!

Service was very attentive & proper. Staff was friendly. Food was very good for the most part. Some standouts: Milk bread was warm & paired perfectly with the flavored butter.Turnip tots were crispy on the outside while tender & nicely turnipy on the inside.Quail was delicious but portion was small. The signature ugly mushroom pasta did not disappoint. Other dishes were ok but not outstanding: pear salad, duck breast, & butternut squash risotto.Pomet did have enough pros for us to recommend though.

Had an amazing meal at Pomet with my husband for our anniversary. We went on a weekday evening and the restaurant wasn't as busy. But make a reservation online just in case! Our server had the best recommendations and did a great job describing the dishes and checking in on us throughout our dinner. We loved the pear salad, mushroom pasta, milk bread, fried duck, and carrot cake! We've already recommended the restaurant to friends and would definitely go back to try other dishes during another season!

We arrived just a few minutes before opening without a reservation and were seated at the bar, which felt a bit awkward, but we were grateful to be accommodated. This restaurant has a green Michelin star, highlighting their commitment to local sourcing, and they even provide a printed list of their partners--very impressive! Our waiter offered us still or sparkling water, and of course, we chose the bubbles. The complimentary refills throughout the night were a lovely touch, and whenever our bottle got warm, they promptly replaced it with a chilled one, ensuring we always had a refreshing drink. Now, for the main event! We ordered quite a few dishes, but the standout was definitely the Ugly Pasta--adorably shaped like little candy wrappers, filled with four different types of mushrooms. The pasta was perfectly al dente, and we absolutely should have ordered two!We also enjoyed the Two Pear Salad, which lived up to its name with two delicious types of pears. The dinner rolls were so good that we regretted not ordering an extra batch, but we didn't want to spoil our appetites for the main course.Speaking of the main course, the steak with chimichurri and miso butter was out of this world--so tender it practically melted in your mouth! It was served with perfect fall veggies, including roasted butternut squash and broccolini. Please note that the drink selection is limited to beer and wine. I enjoyed a lovely Pinot from Anderson Valley while my husband sampled a few craft brews he'd been eager to try.I cannot recommend this place enough! It's been on my bucket list since opening, and I'm so glad we finally had the chance to experience it.

We were pleasantly surprised during our recent visit to Pomet, finding it to live up to its reputation as a Michelin Green Star Restaurant. The restaurant exudes a quaint and intimate vibe, and reservations are recommended to secure a table. Pomet stands out from the typical farm-to-table scene, offering a refreshing take on authentic, locally sourced cuisine. The staff's service was notable, demonstrating great knowledge and enthusiasm for each dish. This commitment to using organic, fresh ingredients was evident throughout our dining experience, underscoring the restaurant's dedication to authenticity over fancy aesthetics. Our meal featured a variety of standout dishes:- Buddha's Palm Kombucha provided a fruity and refreshing start.- The Sake Flight offered a diverse selection of locally made sake, providing a taste of the region.- The California Kanpachi, seasoned with K&J Orchard's Meyer lemon kasha and Monterey seaweed, was enhanced by a drizzle of black sesame oil.- The Salt & Pepper WOLFE RANCH Quail was crispy, tender, and juicy, a true delight.- The Dungeness Crab Rice, infused with soy chili, trout roe, and pickles, offered a burst of flavorful combinations.- The Morel Mushroom Spinach Lasagna, layered with shaved asparagus and seasonal ramps, was a particular highlight. For dessert, the Double Chocolate Salted Caramel Bar, paired with Cloud & Mist Fujian Green tea, provided a satisfying conclusion to the meal.Overall, each dish we sampled came highly recommended, showcasing exceptional flavors and attention to detail. Pomet offers a dining experience that is both memorable and worth the journey to Oakland.

Absolutely loved our meal here. The standout dishes were the ugly mushroom pasta and the short rib with some of the spiciest mustard I've ever had before. The service was great, plates were spaced perfectly and the vibe inside was relaxing yet refined. Highly recommend making a reservation and checking this place out!
