I did a BYOB here and i think it's pretty good! Decent size bowl and I like how they don't put a limit on the number of toppings you want. They also have a pretty big selection of toppings that some places don't have like corn, pineapple, tomato. The imitation crab was on the dryer side though. For the price I would come back and fish tasted fresh too Not a lot of seating in the restaurant but I think most people take it to go

I can't remember the last time I stopped by Poke House but I know for a fact it's been YEARS AND YEARS. Since I was in the area and have been having major poke craving, convenience kind of took over and laziness won. The menu itself hasn't really changed too much aside from price increases- totally expected btw. Extra points because I like how Poke House offer bowls catered to kids.Order:Kid's Crab Bowl $13.50Build Your Own Bowl- Small $15.70 [half sushi rice, half greens]The ingredients seemed pretty fresh, work station was tidy, but the portions provided are small. While I do not expect mounds of food being scooped- especially when it comes to your choice of protein- but the designated scoops aren't even filled as you move along the poke assembly line. My daughter's 2 scoops of crab was CLEARLY unmatched. Thinking the girl would grab a bit more, I was left dumbfounded as she moved further down to the other ingredients. My bowl wasn't much different but the protein portions weren't as obvious as the crab. Food Breakdown:The sushi rice was not good. Not only was the sushi rice missing the distinct tart undertone, the rice was mush and clumpy. Whoever was in charge of cooking the rice failed. Fish tasted fresh but the flavoring honestly didn't do it for me- normally I eat my poke bowl as is and in this case soy sauce was needed. Crab was good & tasted as you'd expect. Quality and taste has only continued to dwindle. 2 Stars overall. 1 star because the staff was nice and another star because of the kid's menu offering. I personally won't be back but I'd make a return for my kid's meal.

Ingredients are always so fresh, and the flavors are incredible! The Spicy Tuna was a perfect balance of heat and flavor. It melts in your mouth and has just the right kick! If you're a fan of something with a bit of spice, this is a must-try.I also had the Octopus, which was tender and delicious -- not rubbery like you get at some places. You can tell they put care into preparing it right. But the Spicy Miso Salmon? WOW. The miso adds a unique depth, making the salmon pop with rich, umami goodness. It's definitely my new favorite! The portion sizes are generous, the toppings are plentiful, and the service is always friendly and fast.

Solid poke spot, and a go to for a quick meal and poke craving. The prices have increased greatly since it first opened, but it's also understandable because of the rising costs.... I get a small now which comes with two (2) proteins and it's pretty filling for me! My boyfriend gets a large that comes with five (5) proteins and it's the one rare thing that gets him super full! There are a lot of different protein options and toppings here which makes it more appealing when you're building your own bowl (as a somewhat picky person) Service is quick and all of them are knowledgeable in the products available! The interior has minimal seats and is not too accommodating for big groups, but perfect for two!

It was pretty good. Better than I thought for sure. Got two poke bowls. Fish was somewhat fresh and soft. The rice was not too hard and not too soggy. We got one Tuna and one Salmon, togo. Small was perfect for me, not full but satisfying. It isn't cheap but I wouldn't consider them expensive. Inside was clean. We didn't get any sauce. There was plenty of flavor as is. Workers were ok. Sometimes I get someone really friendly and other times I get someone that isn't as nice. But this is our neighborhood poke place so we come fairly often. Good for when you're wanting poke quick.

Pretty standard poke spot. Everything was tasty and the fish was fresh. All the toppings/bases were fresh. My only issue was the server was almost whispering so I could not hear him and there was only seating along the all so a larger group has for eat outside and it was freezing.

The poke was fresh and you can get a lot of variety for toppings. It was a little pricey, but overall great shop!

I really want to give 5 stars in regards to the flavor and taste of this poke, but for the amount of fish I got for the price, I have to give it less than that. I'm not sure if it's just because of the worker I got, but the scoops of fish were so disappointing. I got the miso spicy salmon and garlic tuna. the flavor was good, not fishy, but the sauces were pretty mild for both. I got their combo sauce, it was not too spicy. Store looks clean.

I think Poke House in general is an amazing poke spot whenever you're craving raw fish. I would have to say my recent experience did not go so well. I've gone to all locations all over San Jose but this location in particular disappointed me. I'm not sure if it was the worker that made my bowl but their scoops were disappointing. I was not trying to be rude or anything at all but I told them that in other locations, they do not seem to give me this little protein. I understand they have their policies and portioning standard they should fulfill for each customer. Then the worker gave me a little more but only three tiny cut pieces of fish. It was so little I could actually count three. It was pathetic. He scooped them in there like it did something different. Then after I checked out the manager and all of the workers began staring at me. I felt uncomfortable eating there while they all had their eyes on me. So I ask the manager if there was anything wrong. He informed me about their standard portioning and said that he can weigh each scoop to their standard portion if I wanted them to do that. It was kind of ridiculous and petty he would do that. Really? They were going to weigh each scoop for me next time? It's not that deep. It's not that serious. I'm not asking for a generous crazy amount of a scoop but I mean we are paying $20+ for a bowl, they want to be so exact with their portions. I doubt any of them would get in trouble for scooping a little more than they usually do. Again, I was being so polite. I did not want to be a Karen but it's like I'm at chipotle all over again and they would skimp me out each time. I could tell it made the manager upset that I had even asked about the portioning at all. That's why he brought out the scale and everything lol. I would recommend Poke House Winchester Blvd and Poke House Almaden Cherry Ave. Those locations will do you right. They do not give a generous amount but an acceptable amount that I would certainly pay for. No cause why was he so pressed LMAO. Lastly, I would just like to say, if I had no issue in the past few years of going to the other locations and I suddenly have a problem with Hostetter Rd Poke House, I do not think I nor the other locations are the problem here. If I go to one Poke House location and see how they make my bowl for me. I will then be convinced that all locations would give the same kind of thing. I guess I'm wrong. Again, I know you guys will read this but I just want to say I wasn't trying to put up a fight but why yall so stingy fr. Then staring at me too like I'm crazy.
