This is my home office away from home. I love coming here to get my coffee and sink in a few hours of work time. The environment at Phoenix is really good for focus work. You can stay in the main area or find a cozy nook to really dig in. The noise level is low and everyone is very respectful. I appreciate this locally owned business, I have talked with both owners and know they have out so much heart and soul in creating this space. The location is so good too if you want to step out to grab some lunch nearby on Park Street. Highly recommend!

Two friends and I recently held our 50th birthday celebration at the Phoenix. It was amazing. The location and the people we worked with to make the event happen exceeded our expectations. Place was beautiful-our guests were blown away at how awesome the location looked for our dance party and Shaskia (owner and host of the Phoenix) was unbelievable. So professional. She worked really hard to help us have a fun and memorable party. She gave us so many good tips about how to use the space and helped us in so many ways that evening. She was great at communicating before the event as well. Cannot say enough about how wonderful the whole experience was with the Phoenix.

I tried this location out for the first time recently and they were accommodating to new visitors. The space was quite large with several conference rooms, private rooms, and phone booths. In addition there are open spaces where visitors can set up their work station. There is also a kitchen and snack station where you can make your own coffee, grab fruits/pastries and water during your break. While I spent the day there, I didn't feel secured leaving my stuff around so a suggestion would be to have day lockers somewhere. Otherwise, this was a perfect set up to take meeting calls, set up an onsite meeting, or go in a booth for more privacy.

I've been to a few events here as well as had an event hosted here and let me just say this; I rarely give 5 stars because I believe those should go to the businesses that go above and beyond, which is exactly what this place does. Such a sweet blend of privacy in the back and openness in the front. The decor is spot on so any pictures taken at your event will be amazing. The staff is the kindest, sweetest and most helpful I've met in a while. If you haven't been here before, check it out ASAP, you won't regret it.

I've been visiting Phoenix since 2018 and love it. I feel so grateful and lucky to have a great cowork space in Alameda. The ownership and staff are friendly, welcoming, and make great coffee drinks. I've also used this space for private events and it's also been wonderful in that capacity. Great space and great people!

As a professional photographer, I've had the opportunity to work at Phoenix several times, and had great experiences each time. Most recently, I booked the main room and conference room for a business/lifestyle photo shoot. Rachel at the front desk was extremely accommodating. Whether it was move art, rearrange furniture, or answer questions I had about what would work best for the shoot, she was willing to go the extra mile.Big Plus: it was all very reasonably priced. The other shoots I did there were for events: an engagement party, a maternity party, a 40th birthday party... Each time the staff was very helpful, and there's enough space to set up not only a photo set for posed photos, but also tables for dinner, and a floor for dancing. There's also a nice little outdoor area off to the side. All in all, it's a great space not only for coworking, but also for events, photo shoots, and pretty much anything you can think of. Just ask, and I'm sure they will accommodate. Five enthusiastic stars!

My family and I had my father's celebration of life ceremony at the Phoenix last week. We are extremely happy with how everything went. The Phoenix staff was super helpful with all of the planning. I worked closely with Ms. Saskia Winter, the founder. We exchanged many emails and she was always responsive and answering all of my questions, which helped a lot. I also visited the venue twice. The staff, (Julie, Artie, and Lakisha) on the day of the event was also super helpful. Things went smooth once the event started. The space was intimate which made it easy for people to connect and mingle. We had food set up and a few decorations. I'm happy we decided to use the Phoenix to remember and honor my father. I highly recommend hosting an event there. You will not be disappointed.

As a business owner and woman of color, I'm sharing my documented experience at PHOENIX, which markets itself as a community-minded space.TIMELINE (all documented via email):- Nov 26: Received email about desk placement and 'belongings boiling over'- Same day: Responded explaining medical accommodation need for a heater and prior arrangement with office mate for shared space- Same day: Provided detailed feedback about how communication styles impact marginalized members and requested clear written policies- Nov 29, 11:20 PM: Received termination notice (during their stated closed holiday hours) with no policy violations cited- Dec 1: Vacated space before upcoming surgery- Dec 2: Management attempting to restrict sharing of this experienceKey Context:- Initial concern was about a medical accommodation (heater)- No written policies existed about desk placement or personal items- My feedback focused on communication style and need for clear policies- Termination followed feedback about inclusive communication- All arrangements with officemate were mutually agreed upon- No disruption to other members was documentedPROS:- Beautiful physical space- Engaged community members- Good locationCONCERNS:Their actions contradict their marketed values:- Medical accommodation request led to scrutiny- Feedback about communication resulted in late-night termination- No policy violations cited- Actions conflict with their claim of being 'community-minded'!! Important Pattern Notice: All statements are supported by email documentation, which I'm sharing for transparency (1-6 screenshots). These emails demonstrate the progression from providing professional feedback about inclusive communication to receiving a late-night holiday termination notice, followed by attempts to control the narrative. All communications preserved in their original form. Follow captions 1/6, 2/6, 3/6, etc in order to follow full story. I hope this helps others make informed decisions about shared workspace options in Alameda.
