Pho Tay Do

Was really craving pho Sunday night after going out and this was one of the only places open until midnight. The inside of the restaurant is nice, clean, and small.The service was quick and standard. No small talk, just eat and go which we loved. I didn't have high expectations going in, but the pho here is actually pretty good. The broth is very beefy and rich but clean. The portions are pretty sizable and the price isn't bad. This will be my new go to late night pho spot!

food was fine but the experience was upsetting because after I paid, the server said she forgot to charge us for the 3 drinks that we got (Thai teas and soda) and it was fine. So we gave her our credit card to pay for it. Then later when receiving the itemized receipt, she realized she actually did charge us initially. I then asked her to just refund it on the card and she said she couldn't because they were using a new payment system that doesn't allow refunds?!? I've literally never heard of this! What kind of payment system doesn't allow you to get refunds? We are literally in 2024. She asked, we can give you the drinks again like two more Thai teas and a soda. I told her we weren't interested in getting another set of drinks and just wanted our money back. I asked her maybe she can give a cash refund and she said that they had no cash because they've been only receiving credit card payments all morning. I felt like this was a lie. How can a business carry no cash? How would they give change to their customers?It's just so upsetting and it felt like we got scammed.

This place has been through 3 different ownership and renaming. Recently, just had a visit and there's no customer service here.Kinda lame. There's no differentiation between their menu and other vietanese cuisine nearby. Price is bit more expensive here.I literally sat down and left. Shame. I think they'll go through another ownership or renaming again.

Really good pho, they stay open fairly late as well. Big ol' bowl for good price and quality, would love to come back

Came here for a family dinner of 5. Being that Pho Tay Do is just down the street from home, the convenience aspect is def a win. Upon arrival, you notice seating is available both indoor and out. Outdoor is a great option for those who prefer this because everything is fully shaded. We were given the option of choosing our seat but unfortunately had to grab our own stack of menus due to the male employee overlooking us while busting tables. The gentleman eventually walked over to take our food order, not writing anything down and based everything on memory. He did make sure to repeat our orders & requested adjustments back to us prior to heading to the register.Dinner consisted of:Pho Bo Vien & Sach [Pho w/ Beef Balls & Tripe]Pho Chin Nam Gau Gan Sach [combination beef pho] x2Hu Tieu Hai San [seafood rice noodle soup] - requested for NO SHRIMP, replace with more squid or fish ball.Soda Xi MuoiSprite The food came out fairly quick and the plate of herbs provided was fresh. The seafood noodles soup clearly containing shrimp which we had requested for the kitchen to be removed. The rest of the orders were fine. I waited around patiently for our drinks to arrive and nothing came out besides the complimentary waters that were given shortly after our initial arrival. I waited and waited some more until it was clear that the drinks had been forgotten. The gentleman who took our order was nowhere to be found so I was forced to ask the younger gal handling the register. Food was okay but there are obvious kinks that need to be worked out. For starters, taking orders and actually writing them down would help tremendously. Restrooms were very clean which was very appreciated. 3 stars overall, I may come back given the easily accessible location but it's not a must.

Stopped here for our roadtrip up the coast. They're open late and they have amazing food! Service was nice and fast. We got the combo pho, beef and shrimp vermicelli bowl, and the Thai teas with boba. Vermicelli bowl was the winner. Excellent sauce and shrimp were perfectly cooked. Definitely would return.Plenty of searing and parking.

Given the number of pho places in San Jose, this place to me is really just "a-ok." It wins on convenience and location (open late and super close by), but the pho fell short compared to other places I've had. There's a strong one-note flavor that lingered in the broth that I can't quite pinpoint which dominated the flavor profile. Otherwise it was decent enough pho, but I'd probably head to other places a little further away still if I'm craving pho.

Great pho place open till late (I think until midnight TH-SUN). I got the steak pho and the steak was super tender and very easy to chew. Solid pho place!Service was fast and the staff were kind. Tables were clean. Would def go again!

The pho broth here was good in terms of flavor; tasted just like most other pho spots. I got a small size pho for $13.50. Pretty cheap compared to other spots but it shows in the small portion of noodles and meat. The meat was just okay in quality, and I found that the tendon in my bowl was undercooked and hard. Other than that, all the side fixings were fresh and I have no complaints in that aspect.Service was a little disappointing. We were not checked on throughout the meal and were not given any napkins. When we paid at the register, I found the worker pretty rude. I was looking for 60 cents of change to give him, but he rushed me and told me to give him a dollar instead. We expected change back, but he simply took the dollar, put it in the register, and walked away. The ambiance is very casual, nothing particularly special.

This place is amazing. My boyfriend and I come here at least once a week. We always order 2 Large Pho, side off egg rolls and 2 lemon soda Chanh. The pho broth is savory and delicious. The lemon soda chanh is to die for! The staff here have great customer service and always make sure I have what I need. I give it 5 out of 5! I never feel not satisfied here! The atmosphere I love it, reminds me of a mom and pop shop. I'm all for it! We will be coming back as always
