I was here during grand opening. Pretty big piece of beef bone and have to use scissor to cut it down. The meat is tender, and the soup broth was well flavor with a hint of spice (i usually hate spice but this is not overpower). Two things I didn't like:- The flat fresh noodle wasn't to my liking. I probably will try the thin noodle next time.- The price is slightly on the expensive side, but it is understandable as they add in a big piece of meat. It ends up a bit too big to me to handle, and I usually able finish up big portion no problem at other places.

I'm not a pho expert by any means, but this is seriously the best pho I have ever had.The variety of beef cuts are great, and my #2 came with a gigantic short rib. Easily worth the price. All the meat was so flavorful and the broth... my goodness. Intensely rich and so soothing. Next time I'm sick this is going to cure me.Also little things, like the optional vinegared onions, were great. They give tons of herbs and the bean sprouts are lightly sautéed or something. I usually dislike bean sprouts as they never get cooked enough in the broth for me, but not here. They only had 2 people working when I went, service was fine. Efficient but kind of "what's your order"-"here's your order"-"here's the check". That's fine but just don't come here expecting someone to dote on you. It's in a strip mall, the restaurant is clean and functional I guess. Not much effort on making it look good. Which is fine.Small note on the menu - all they serve is beef pho and drinks. There's no chicken, no appetizers, no rice. Come here for pho and a drink, or you will be disappointed.Parking seems fine in the decent sized lot.

**Pho Quest #79**As a Northern pho fan, I've found my preferred spot but when I saw a recent video stating the best pho in San Jose, I had to rekindle my quest to try the most recent additions. Unfortunately, for me, I went to the wrong pho spot (another that started with a D was listed as the best in San Jose). That's no fault of Pho Duoi Bo. So here's my take on this spot that is housed in the plaza best known for also housing long time hu tieu specialist Nam Vang. Pros:- Multiple meat options including oxtail, short rib, and "Kobe" beef torched by kerosene torch ($11.99 add on)- nicely minced and julienned scallions - fresh and thin rice noodle options Cons:- overly sweet broth. Reportedly may be a preference for southern style pho, but I prefer cleaner, meatier broth as a base and should youMy order: pho tai ~ filet mignon pho $16.95. Side of torched "kobe" beef $11.99, bowl of beef balls $7.50. Yes, it was a pricey bowl of noodle soup but I had to try. Dining is indoor only and credit cards are accepted.

I don't often make my way down to San Jose, but driving through on our way home from Pinnacles, my son complained about being so hungry so we decided to look for a pho spot. This location has good reviews so we made the stop. There's a free parking lot that serves lots of different storefronts in this little corner mall, but there were a few open spots at noon on a Wednesday. First impressions are the interior is really well decorated. There are several large murals across the walls, great lighting, bench seating along the walls, and nice tables and chairs throughout.Service was prompt and menus and water were delivered as soon as we sat down, along with a bowl and pair of scissors when they saw that we had a child. Our server was friendly and my son said "she's really nice," and then he was embarrassed when he looked up and she was still standing by! Our food also came super quick. The broth truly is delicious -- reminds me of my mom's beef soup -- and I'm pretty picky as I've been eating pho my entire life. My son said the broth is so good, he could cry and then announced that this is now his favorite pho restaurant. FYI you do have to ask for forks and chili sauce separately. There was plenty of meat in the dishes we ordered (#4 and #10), and we got a Thai ice tea and a milk tea. The Thai ice tea was good, but the milk tea was too sweet for my liking. There's one single use bathroom. The toilet was pretty gross (thanks, men) so I wiped the rim before putting the seat down. If I ever stop in San Jose again, I would definitely eat here!!

This place specializes mostly in beef pho, and they do it well. I loved the cozy beefy broth and the noodles and meat were perfect. It was much needed in a cold and cloudy day. I got #2 and would def recommend it. The interior is clean and the staff is friendly. We got suggestions on what type of noodles to order based on preference.

This is the BEST pho in the Bay Area and South Bay. The broth is sooooo good, and the tender meat falls off the short rib. I ordered the filet mignon pho with added short rib. I learned about this restaurant from a discussion on the SanJose subreddit about the best pho. Someone wrote:"Phở Đuôi Bò on Alvin across from Chuck E Cheese, no question about it. I am Vietnamese and have been cooking Phở for decades and this spot will have the most authentic, bold, richly simmered broth. They also have the dinosaur short rib as well as seared steak on the side. Most restaurants are unable to achieve this depth of flavor because they keep diluting their broth with water and adding a bunch of cốt Phở msg seasoning which removes a lot if the rich beef collagen (also cost saving). If Northern Phở is your thing I recommend Phở Đăng for a very luxurious authentic experience as well. Trust me bro I am a Phở connoisseur. I can guarantee you that I have been to almost all of the Phở spots these other redditors recommended you but they don't come close."

First time here and I enjoyed the #2 - pho duoi bo dac biet. It's their pho with the giant short rib bone. You also have the option of fresh noodle or regular noodle. I always like the fresh noodles, as it is a little fattier. You definitely get a lot of meat from the bone. So much so, that I had to take home my bowl as I had a lot of leftovers. We also ordered Chinese donuts to eat along with our pho, which is a first for us. It was good, but I prefer my pho without it. Came here early, so there was no wait. As we were leaving, the restaurant definitely fill up. So I highly recommend coming early to avoid any waits. The pricing is not too bad for how much you get, given the big bone. Definitely would come back again if I want the short rib pho. Parking is not too bad, as there are tons in the parking lot. Can get busy during rush hours though.

I think this pho spot is comparable to Pho Dang! Their broth was flavorful, didn't need any added condiments at all. I love the different meat options they offer. They use filet mignon. We ordered the pho tai with fresh noodles and pho tai chin with thin noodles. The fresh noodles were good but the thin noodles were slightly overcooked, meat quality was really good though, it was tender. We got their torched Kobe beef as well, it was good, we did add some lime to it for some zest. Their Vietnamese coffee was also good, it was on the strong end. I like how they don't add a lot of ice like other places. Also like how this place, you can add a side order of fried Chinese donut.Recommend giving it a try!
