The service is good. We had a bit of language barrier, but used google translate! Had to ask for chips...nice salsa bar! Fresca was awesome!!!Inside is nice and clean.Cash only!!!Weird food experience!!!Menudo is NOT good and didn't have anything but tripe and a few pieces of potato... missing all the ingredients!!! Felt ripped off!!!Pupusas we're good but the sauce was not authentic pupusa sauce!!! Street parking only.... Hard to find during rush hours.

Caveat: I came during the Day of the Dead event but in the morning before thousands of others came but this establishment should have been ready and staffed for it. The excuse I was told is "we are really busy"... The staff was somewhat amicable but tardy in asking for our order. I was very disappointed in the time it took to serve the food and the order accuracy. I had a fairly simple order and they forgot several things - add chicken to the quesadilla, extra order of beans, two juices and even the to-go boxes I requested twice, to no avail. I never got them and they cleared my table without me knowing. We waited close to 20 minutes for the barely warm food. The main reason for 2 stars (instead of 1) was the menu and food taste was decent... But I was also hungry from the wait, perhaps. Also, the fact this is cash only without having thay stated nor any of the staff mentioning this made it very inconvenient.

This place sucks in terms of service. I was seated in a reasonable amount of time, my order was taken in a reasonable, my food never came. I mean I sat there talking to my friend I looked at my watch and thirty minutes passed. I inquired about my order and they said it would be out soon. 30 more minute passed and we decided to leave. We went to pay for our water and agua fresca so they don't call the cops and say we were running out on our bill. We go pay for our drinks and the cashier says "you didn't get your food. We were told not to take any more orders after you sat down." What the hell does that mean?! Any who, I can speculate a million reasons why I didn't get any service. But F this place I will never go back. I was there during Día de Los muertos festival.

A lovely hidden gem in Fruitville. This is not your traditional Mexican restaurant. The owners are Guatemalian and Mexican ( if I remember right) so the dishes reflect that. Also the usual favorites are served with a southern Mexican flavor twist. I had the grilled prawn fajitas. Your rice: will be seasoned and has veggies compared to the reddish generic rice that other places offer (this was so tasty that I could have eaten a double order of this) Prawns: grilled and seasoned just right. Nothing oily or over grilled. It was just right. The salsa bar: see my photo - the salsas are thehottest on the right. Weird but neat: no guacamole, no horchata is served but they have lime and pineapple lemonade, and they have a cactus / feta cheese topping at the salsa bar. The place is spotless, clean, and some elements are made form hand crafted wood. It's obvious the owners take pride in the appearance of the restaurant and not just the food that's geared towards healthy . The bathroom is also very nice and clean. I loved the bar stool seating! One can grab a meal solo and not feel weird. I highly recommend eating here.

I walked into the Restaurant. I just got the Menu, Within one minute of me looking at the menu the owner tells me to hurry up and order As I'm trying to decide he was very very rude & unprofessional I then told him I am not in a rush give me some time to decide and he still continues to try and rush me saying it's just Mexican food hurry up and continue to harass me as I'm trying to look at the menu that is not how you treat your customers I had planned on ordering food for my wife and son also But after feeling very disrespected I refused to order anything I suggest no one eats at this restaurant just on my way that he treats paying customers I really hope this review saves somebody from Wasting their money

This is a cute little spot in fruitvale not far from the Bart station on international. I had a mango Fresca and chicken torta. The torta was huge and delicious with avocado, a freshly shredded cheese and chipotle peppers. The mango Fresca was also very refreshing! They also have a couple little seats for outdoor spots to eat.

First of all, what a hidden gem! You could easily pass this place while driving through Fruitvale. Thank goodness I decided to take a stroll this time around and happen to walk by.The interest of this place has a warm and "homey" feel to it. Really love the brick wall and the wooden furniture.Inside you'll find a self serve salsa bar and some of the best tortilla chips I have ever had! I like mine on the thicker side, so they did not disappoint. Fair warning- their salsas are hella spicy and hella good! I was really not expecting that kind of heat at all. I pride myself and my culture for eating spicy food, but they surprised me.In addition, their "wet" burritos are really flavorful and the sauce has a kick to it.Would definitely order here again.

We got a tlayuda and some mole enchiladas here yesterday and both were pretty good! The tlayuda was enormous. I ate half for lunch, a quarter for breakfast, and still have a quarter left. I only ordered a 1 meat one and got it with chorizo but I think they threw in some asada for me too! The mole was quite good and sweeter than I've had before, but not in a bad way. The salsas are all pretty good. Beware the creamy looking orange one, it's quite hot (but not unbearably so). Good spot!

Went here with my family. We were sat outside and given a menu with fixed prices. We ordered a Molcajeta ranchero ($38.65), 3 aquas frescas ($4 each) and 1 bowl of fruit (price = 2 aqua frescas). Note. The prices listed were what was on the printed menu. When we got the bill we were charged Molcajeta ranchero ($48.65), 4 aquas frescas ($5 each) and 1 bowl of fruit (price = 2 aqua frescas). We asked about the price discrepancy. They said the manager changed the prices in the register and there was nothing they could do about it. This is technically illegal. They also said it was cash only although no sign was posted outside, on the menu or on the door. I finally saw a cash only sign when I went into use the bathroom. Will never go here again and neither should you.
