Pak 'N Save Foods

NO MORE SAFEWAY. EVER AGAIN. NEVER. Self checkout dismantled. 3 security guards aren't enuf. Management can't figure out how to combat walkouts. Oh yes. This is the tech capital. Of the world. Whatevs. Now we're back to cashiers. Found a kind of short line. Then Looked over at the express line. Hmmm. Maybe quicker. Just as I got up to the line a baby faced employee inserted his imperious self and announced to me that he was cutting the line. Closing it. Go over to that line pointing to the one I had been in. He was unrelenting when I explained I just came from the busier and slower line. This line is closed. He snottily barked. I said I wasn't going to wait and that I would leave my items. I dumped them out of my bag on a counter and walked out. Oh my. I also muttered I can't put up with this place. And that's the real truth bottom line. I like the selection. It's Checking out at Safeway, no matter the location: there's always a problem, a delay, a long wait. I can't deal. It's anxiety provoking. And clearly management could care less. I live across from a Safeway. As others have noted, it's worth it to drive 10 minutes to Grocery Outlet, Trader Joe's, Sprouts. And I can't support a business where employees appear so downtrodden and unappreciated. Goodbye forever Safeway. In my experience you're the worst ever. Blech.

I have never liked this store just a means to an end. Obviously it's parent company believe in investing in safety the cheapest way possible. I'm sorry the pricing compared to the quality is not adding up. When this is the first stop for most it's a last resort for me.

I didn't think the stork could get much worse but they did. Now there's no self checkout, which I completely understand because there are an ordinate number of thieves in the store, but they don't have enough check stand operators so now there are long lines requiring you to wait even longer in this death trap to pay your bill.

Oh yes. Pak N Save Foods located in the ghetto fabulous area on San Pablo and 40th. A place where you do your best to take care of business without too much interaction with the outside world. I usually work quickly as possible, here are the steps I take.1) find a parking spot2) pray to the Lordt that myself and my vehicle remain unscathed in my perilous journey to Pak N Save.3) Run in the store like I'm Marshawn Lynch breaking through the Defensive line of the opposing team.4) Grab what I need. no need to lollygag.5) Self check out because I don't need no attitude from people in line or the checker. Save the drama for ya mama.6) Hop back in the whip, lock the doors, roll out.These are the keys to a successful shopping experience at Pak N Save.

I noted that the area has been unsafe, too many panhandlers, aggressive employees (snarky in a way, when they come off as passive aggressive, not all. There are some that are actually wonderful)The food at the bakery, it's wet and squishy, so i told them and they said "oh, we forgot to remove that my apologizes" its alright human error.I did notice there was mold in the sushi, and ask what the fuzzy hair is "its not good, give to me" honestly i'm giving 1 star for the store lack of management is what vibes are.

Update: So when you think it can't get any worse it does, now they have no self check lanes so it's only two check stands open and a longer waiting time... If you have anxiety and want to shop and get out this is not the store the lines are long and security treats everybody like a potential thief so it is unsafe.

I stopped by this Pak N' Save / Safeway for the first time recently. While I was able to generally find everything I needed and the selection was fine to me, plus I was able to get a discounted cheesecake slice from the bakery section, I didn't like the presence of security guards, more security camera monitors than I've usually seen in Safeway, and gates to go through to leave the checkout area since it definitely gives a feeling that the store is treating you as a thief rather than a welcomed shopper. However, it is pretty close to the 72 AC Transit bus lines.

Hands down, the most poorly managed supermarket I've ever been to. I can count on one hand how many times I've had a positive shopping experience. It's at the point where even though it's the closest market to my home, I drive an additional mile to another to get my regular shopping done. This location is mismanaged, dirty, understaffed and overall inconvenient.

They sell moldy food here. I'm so disappointed about the quality of grocery service at the "Safeway" in this area. The loiterers outside the door are ridiculous and do not recognize personal space. sometimes when I get my groceries before the end of the day I just want to go in talking to no one but that is very rare.

The whole premise of this store is to pack your own groceries to save.So why does the self checkout line close early? And the staff sure enjoys taking their sweet time checking people out...and there is usually only one lane open.
