Place is pretty empty for a lunch hour. Server was attentive in the beginning but not sure if this location doesn't get enough service or what, but they tried to tell me that we are required to purchase 2 entrees since there is 2 of us dining in. We weren't allowed to share a large soup. I was advised this was a corporate decision. Hmmm... he let us order just one entree but I don't think I'll come back to this place. There are a TON of hot pot places in the bay! I'll be mindful where we choose next! If you're looking to share, don't come here.

This location is a lot bigger than the Cupertino one and also brighter. Good for groups because the tables are massive and super spacious. I do notice a difference with the broth here compared to the Cupertino location. The broth is not as flavorful. We always get the garlic miso and end up adding more garlic. The meat tastes the same. Service has been great since we've visited this location.

It was about time that we tried Shabu Shabu and we did it. Loved the experience every bit and i have tried to break it down into a few dimensions that probably would cover our visit. To start with we went there on a weekday and found a parking spot right outside.Ambiance: One Pot Shabu Shabu offers a modern and clean dining environment that is both welcoming and comfortable. The minimalist décor with sleek furniture and subtle lighting creates a pleasant atmosphere that is ideal for casual dining. The layout is spacious, allowing for a relaxed and enjoyable shabu shabu experience, whether you're dining alone or with a group. The ambiance is enhanced by the friendly chatter of fellow diners and the appealing aroma of the broths.Food: The food at One Pot Shabu Shabu is exceptional, with a focus on fresh and high-quality ingredients. Diners can choose from a variety of broths, including traditional, spicy, and unique house specialties, each providing a different depth of flavor. The meat selections are tender and well-marbled, making them perfect for the hot pot cooking method. Seafood options, such as shrimp and fish, are also fresh and flavorful. The vegetable and tofu assortments are abundant, offering a great balance to the meal. Additionally, the dipping sauces are delicious and customizable, enhancing the overall taste of the dishes. We ended up ordering Black Angus Prime Ribeeye (regular) , 4ever Seafood for our Entrees along with Spicy Kimchi and Garlic Miso as our broths respectively. I got along with it a side of some veggie based noodles ( i don't happen to remember the ingredients exactly). The seafood options were phenomenal and when being cooked in that soup pot they just turned to be super delicious. I was told the same about the Black Angus Prime Ribeye and the ingredients were super fresh and looked/tasted healthy every bit.Service: The service at One Pot Shabu Shabu is top-notch. The staff is attentive, knowledgeable, and always ready to assist with menu selections or cooking tips. They ensure that the tables are well-stocked with ingredients and that the broths are frequently replenished. The servers are friendly and efficient, contributing to a smooth and enjoyable dining experience. Despite the restaurant often being busy, the service remains consistently high in quality.Value: One Pot Shabu Shabu provides excellent value for money. The pricing is reasonable, especially considering the quality and quantity of the ingredients. The all-you-can-eat option is particularly popular, allowing diners to enjoy a wide variety of meats, seafood, and vegetables to their heart's content. The combination of fresh ingredients, generous portions, and attentive service makes it a worthwhile dining experience.Overall:One Pot Shabu Shabu in San Jose is a standout destination for anyone looking to enjoy a delicious and interactive dining experience. The quality of the food, the welcoming ambiance, and the excellent service make it a top choice for shabu shabu enthusiasts and newcomers alike. Whether you're craving a comforting hot pot meal or looking to try something new, One Pot Shabu Shabu delivers an exceptional experience. In summary, One Pot Shabu Shabu offers a delightful and satisfying dining experience with its focus on quality ingredients, excellent service, and a welcoming atmosphere. It's a must-visit for anyone in San Jose looking to enjoy a flavorful and interactive meal.

We came here around 8PM on a weekday and were seated right away. The place is small and bright with booths and bar seating. We each got the small kobe beef entree which also came with vegetables and purple rice. For broths, we got the miso and house special. There's also sesame and ponzu sauce provided. I recommend to also ask for hot drops if you want your sauces and broths spicier. The meat was perfectly cut and went very will with the broth. The miso broth was refreshing, while the house special was basically the miso broth but creamier. I preferred the miso broth as the house special was alittle too creamy for me. The sesame sauce was delicious and is probably one of my favorite shabu shabu sauces that I've tried. The main downside of this place is that they require you to get 1 entrée (meat and veggies) per person, so you might not be able to finish everything in one seating.

Service is prompt and friendly. There is plenty of parking in the plaza it's located in. This is my second time at One Pot (Cupertino and San Jose) and it has disappointed me both times. Unfortunately, the broths are very lackluster in flavor and the dipping sauces are limited. The meats and vegetables are good quality, but for the price, I would go elsewhere.

One Pot probably has the best quality meat out of all the hot pot places in San Jose. The American kobe beef is my favorite meat here! I got the garlic miso but it was pretty bland in flavor. I'd reccomend getting 3-4 hot drops in the broth if you want it to be spicy. We got 1-2 drops and it wasn't enough.Do not come here if you want to share!! They did not let us share a large plate of meat :( Each person has to get their own plate of meat and veggie as well! As someone who can't eat a lot, I was pretty sad when the server told us we had to get separate orders. I really like this location since they have comfy booths!

I've been to this branch before and my boyfriend suggested coming here for hot pot since I always go back to the same restaurants and he wanted to switch it up in variety LOL. Anyways, our visit here today was great! We shared one pot with two broths and just ordered additional sides of sliced meat for our lunch (this is actually a better idea rather than having our own pot - cost wise) Here's a tip, if you'd like your sauce or broth to be spicier and the hot oil at the table isn't cutting it - ask your waiter for the death drop (yes it's spicy! I'd recommend adding 1-2 drops if you can handle the heat otherwise it could be a coughing spice that creeps up) I only asked for one drop, while my boyfriend put 3 drops in his sauce because his spice tolerance is insane. The quality is amazing and very consistent here, I definitely think that it's worth the price and effort of what you receive with your meal. Your choice of noodles/rice is included as well! Sometimes it's too filling for me so I'd just pass on it if I decide to order more meat. The Kobe Beef Belly is delicious, along with the lamb shoulder, and Gyutan aka beef tongue. The service here is top notch for our visit today and very accommodating to what we requested. I recommend asking to mix broths to change it up such as half House Special and half Spicy Kimchi. You can adjust the heat of the broth on the side of the table which isn't new but much easier than asking for assistance from the staff. Sliced meat portions to keep in mind: Sumo is 11 ounces, Large is 8 ounces, and I forgot to ask what size Regular was but it was nice to know the portion size. The Gyutan is 3 ounces of meat which was a good portion if you're not looking for too much protein.

Overall (4.5/5): One Pot finally opened up a larger location. If you want to bring a larger group, I'd recommend heading to this location vs the Cupertino one. One Pot serves great quality meat for a fair price and I would definitely recommend this place to others. This is a great spot if you're not wanting to get stuffed for an all you can eat option.Ambiance (5/5):New and clean spot so there's not much to comment. This location I feel is much less stuffier than the Cupertino spot and would much rather go here.Service (5/5):Service was good so no complaints here. They checked up on us and didn't have anything critical to bring up.Food (3.5/5):I'm not sure who made up the rule to enforce buying an entreé per person but we were made to buy 2 entreé's. An entreé could be shared with an additional order of meat and this used to be an option and maybe still is for the Cupertino location. Definite minus points for making customers do this, they didn't even make this clear on the menu as well. Management, please stop making servers enforce this silly rule.Broth (4/5):We had the Sukiyaki/ house broth and both were great. Both of the broth's were good in flavor and wasn't overly salty.Meat (5/5):Good quality meat, and they use a slicer that cuts the meat very well. It comes out consistently every time and would recommend getting the Wagyu or American Kobe.Entreé sides (3/5):There's plenty for the sides and as mentioned, could definitely be shared if you add on an extra side of meat. Just veggies so nothing spectacular.

Great meats and service! We got their beef option and while its a bit pricey, its one of the higher quality meats we've had at a hot pot type place. Know that each person must order one plate of meat, no buying the large option and sharing. We enjoyed their sukiyaki broth last time but got the garlic miso and the house broth this time. Both were great but I'd go for the house broth myself too because its nice and creamy.I like the amount and variety of veggies and noodles/ rice it comes with. We'd come back when in the mood for higher quality hot pot.
