I love this place emphatically! It's everything Bay Area cuisine is about, fusion, freshness, flavor and originality! With sandwich selections that are heavily influenced by Asian flavors. A lot of their ingredients are made in house, including the turkey breast, which I personally love, and their bread. The marinated beets in the veggie sandwich are next level delicious! I think one thing that stands out for me with the sandwiches they offer is texture, all the sandwiches are made to maximize the light crunchy texture you want from a good sandwich. The seaseme chocolate chip cookies are also hella good. They have a great selection of chips, the Japanese and Asian flavored one's that are super fun to try. The staff is an eclectic group of very friendly people, definitely the kind of Bay Area community establishment you go to see friendly faces and get delicious food. The owner is born and raised in the Bay and cares about maintaining Oakland community, in the face of gentrification it's important to support businesses from people who are from here and hold the values of the Bay Area and Oakland specifically. My complaints include: I hate when they're closed. I never have the opportunity to try the Szechuan chicken, that's their specialty, because I'm so hung-up on the turkey and veggie sandwichs.

I have to give yet another five star review to Ok's because of their kani katsu!!! I just tried it today and JFC... what a great invention. The patty has such a satisfying crunch and then it gives way to the creamy crabby middle. The shaved cabbage is the perfect vegetable to absorb the heat from the katsu yet still remain crunchy, and the house made tartar sauce has the perfect amount of acidity anti balance everything out. There's even a little lemon that comes on the side if you want more acid. The kabocha squash falafel has been my craving lately, but this one is the breakthrough hit until crab season is over.

Been meaning to make a stop here for lunch for a while now and my only regret is not coming here sooner. Luckily it wasn't very busy when we walked in around 11:30pm on a Friday afternoon and we tried their most popular items: the sichuan hot chicken sandwich and ebi katsu. It took about 15 minutes for our order to be prepared and we couldn't wait to dig in, so we stepped outside and started feasting. Note: there's only one table inside and very limited seating outside, so best to just grab and go.The sichuan hot chicken was really good and actually pretty spicy! Even though we asked for mild, it did not disappoint. Pretty simple and straightforward, I loved it. We felt that it wasn't necessarily szechwan spice but really good nonetheless. The seeded bun was so soft and perfectly sauced up - not too little and not too much. As good as that one was, our favorite had to be the ebi katsu. We took one bite and automatically knew this was what dreams are made of. The shrimp patty took us by surprise - it was generously loaded and it honestly tasted like crab at some parts, or maybe I am just delusional. It was very much an elevated, cooler and hotter version of a filet o fish. The shredded cabbage was perfect and the ingredients were notably fresh. They also gave us sides of lemon to squeeze on our sandwiches.Worth a try and a million more, I will certainly be back to order everything on the menu!

Ordered their sichuan fried chicken sandwich, NY steak roast beef and fries via DoorDash. I really liked the fried chicken sandwich and found the roast beef was just okay. But both came still fresh and warm.

I'm no hipster, not nearly, probably closer to being a potential candidate for hip replacement instead. That may explain why I had never heard of this popular sandwich spot when it was a pop-up presumably attracting Instagram-crazed hipsters. I only became aware of it when I saw a young local vlogger raving about it. The sandwich he was eating, the Sichuan Hot Chicken, looked pretty tasty, so I convinced Jamie W to come with me to the shop.Impressed with the breadth of choices, we decided to split the $17 Italian Combo, a thick, nicely encased sandwich with Toscana salami, ham, mortadella, provolone, lettuce, tomato, red onion, Dijon mustard, house mayo, dill pickle, and peperoncini on a house sesame seed focaccia (photo: https://yelp.to/SAfnUg2bsz). It was impressively assembled and quite tasty. We also shared a small $2.50 bag of Flamin' Lime Turtle Chips which reminded me of Chili Cheese Bugles from my childhood (photo: https://yelp.to/yoC6-7qokn).It took us several weeks, but we returned because I felt like we missed the Asian-inspired signature items from that side of the menu. This time we decided we would each get a sandwich. I decided on a good ol' BLT for $16. It came with quite a stash of Hobb's bacon, lettuce, tomato slices, and mayo on toasted house milk bread (photo: https://yelp.to/g2EbikNO_H). It was the simple pleasure I was looking for with the bacon the right thickness and texture. I just wished the milk bread wasn't toasted as I prefer it fresh and soft like they provide in konbinis.Speaking of which, Jamie had the $16 Konbini Tuna Salad where the milk bread was thicker and untoasted. It was generously filled with line caught tuna, chopped celery and red onion, dill pickle, Dijon mustard, and mayo (photo: https://yelp.to/2RU0vnXv3v). It was fresh tasting and filling albeit a touch bland for my taste. Instead of chips, we shared the $7 Asian Potato Salad which was just the way I like it with a lot of mayo mixed with diced potatoes, crushed cucumber, egg, carrot, celery, and onion (photo: https://yelp.to/VHU14tBJx1). We had quite the picnic on Telegraph.FOOD - 4 stars...top grade sandwiches, love the milk bread, tuna salad needs more textureAMBIANCE - 4 stars...organized chaos, takeout fine with a few sidewalks tablesSERVICE - 4.5 stars... well run assembly line, always politeTOTAL - 4 stars...a true destination for a finely built sandwichRELATED - Exploring Oakland? I don't think I've seen a more beautiful veggie sandwich. Freaking feels like I'm eating the rainbow, but like healthy and not skittles. The egg salad sandwich was also great but I don't think I can eat more than half! With the generous thick milk bread and heavy egg salad, it can get pretty filling pretty quick! In terms of sandwich, I won't say you have to get one or the other as I'm sure all their sandwiches are great. The only thing I say you have to get is the sesame kinako chocolate chip cookies. Other than it being HUGE, it's also soooo delicious with the sesame and kinako included. It provides a nice nuttiness that pairs well with the sweet chocolate.

We had heard of how tasty this place is from many friends and we got the crab burger, szechuan chicken and fries. The food is extremely fresh and fluffy and isn't overflowing with liquid (most places really lay it on eith sauces and I love sauces! Just not to the point that it makes the sandwiches very soggy quickly). The food is so fresh and has a nice kick to it. We will certainly be back

Solid solid solid sandwich shop! So many sandwiches I wanted to try, but ended up trying only 4 my 1st visit! The street parking is rough, even on a weekday. Took a few trips around the block to find parking!I really wanted to try the House Banh Mi, but it was sold out by the time I ordered around 1100. WOW ran out so quick!Ended up getting 2x Sichuan Hot Chicken, House Turkey Breast, and the Hot Coppa w/ Fresh Mozzarella! Yes, I doubled down on the Sichuan Hot Chicken because it sounded and looked so tasty! You can get the sandwich in full or cut in half. I got all the sandwiches cut in half which was perfect to hold and eat.I'll start with what I liked first!Sichuan Hot Chicken has house sichuan spiced taiwanese style fried chicken thigh, iceberg lettuce, crushed cucumber, cilantro, house sesame ginger vinaigrette, scallion, house honey mustard, and house sesame bun. You can choose between Regular or Spicy and I got Spicy for both! Now I wish I got 1 of each spiciness haha. The bun was toasted as you can see the toasted sesame seeds on the outside of the buns. Definitely has a sichuan flavor to the chicken which I LOVED! Such a great idea for sichua fusion for a chicken sandwich! I wish the sandwich had more pickles or a pickle spear included because it needed some more freshness. Why does it need more freshness? Because the Spicy version is SPICY AF! After a few bites, my mouth was BURNING and I needed a few minutes break to continue eating the Spicy Sichuan Hot Chicken sandwich haha. It was a nice combo to eat a bite of the Sichuan Hot Chicken then the House Turkey Breast sandwich and back to the Sichuan Hot Chicken sandwich! It's super spicy, but I loved it and would love to try the regular spicy version next visit! The House Turkey Breast sandwich was also a good option for a turkey sandwhich which includes house roast turkey breast, alfalfa, avocado, red onion, cucumber, white cheddar, dijon, mayo, house vin, dill pickle, and rustic hoagie. Just a good tasting classic Turkey Breast that felt fresh and healthy! Great combo alongside the Sichuan Hot Chicken sandwich!!!I haven't tried coppa meat before so I gave the Hot Coppa w/ Fresh Mozzarella sandwich which has hot coppa, fresh mozzarella, arugula, shaved red onions, pepperoncini, house red pesto, house vin, and rustic hoagie. I really enjoyed the taste of the house red pesto and house vin which had amazing flavor and went really well on the hoagie. However, the sandwich overall was WAYYYYY TOO SALTY. I had a hard time eating a lot of the hot coppa sandwich because of the saltiness. If you like a sandwich that is overly salty, this sandwich is for you! This sandwich would be so much better with a little less saltiness! Personally, I would not order this sandwich again.

I FEEL LIKE I HIT THE JACKPOT WITH THIS ONE! Exceptional SICHUAN sandwhich (I'm mean look at that cross section) I'm a SPICY girl and this sandwich really hits for me but gives my Caucasian boyfriend the hiccups but he still likes it and continues to order it. I also got the EBI Katsu for the first time and they give you a little lemon wedge which really is the cherry on-top. Soft buns, flaky juicy fish, sauces saucin, refreshing finely cut cabbage. I love this place and I'm glad it's in my neighborhood. I hope this place keeps doing what they're doing cuz they're doing it well. Will be trying the whole menu.

Amazing fusion sandwiches! Everything was great. The wait took around 10ish mins, there seemed to be a lot of online orders (maybe this is the move next time) !We got:- Sichuan hot chicken: 5/5, chicken was perfectly cooked, very crispy and a loved how the cucumber and honey mustard cut through the heaviness of the fried chicken flavor. It wasn't too spicy and less heavy than i thought it would be. The sesame bun was surprisingly super good too, perf carb to meat and veggies ratio- Sisig bolillo:6/5 omg it was soooo good. The sisig was really juicy and perfectly flavored. They had an egg inside the sandwich as well! I thought the bread choice was also a perfect match because it had a nice crunch, but the interior was soft and soaked the juices of the sisig really well. A little heavy but my too sandwich of the year so far! - sesame choco chip cookie: 5/5 super crispy on the outside and more chewy on the inside, my fav type of cookie! The sesame flavor is not super strong, i think from sesame paste, but tastes great! Also pretty heavy imo but a good treat with a unique twist on a classic (: There's a few tables outside that you can sit and eat at but it's mainly a takeout place. Overall, highly recommend!
