It never disappoints!!! Ambiance is cool, bright & busy! The food is always on point. Everyone works well together. We always have more than one person serving us. Whether it taking the order, serving the order and or filling up our water and or coffee. They work great as a team. Compliments to the chef, he is always on point and serves delicious fresh food, every time!!! Thanks again for another wonderful experience of great food & service. Excellent team work. I love their breakfast here....... I will be back.

Amazing food (their buttermilk pancakes are something I always try and fail to replicate at home despite having the recipe!), proper diner atmosphere and friendly staff with the mood you expect. A local icon and for a good reason.If I had any suggestions, some plant-based sausage option would be nice, but can't complain at all other than that :)

Food is great. Service needs some work. Can sit for ten minutes before anyone considers taking your order. I get it's an attempt at a homie feel but you don't want to be ignored. Better choices abound.

Can't believe I haven't written a review for this place earlier. We love coming here for weekend breakfast. Soufflé pancakes are awesome but do take longer so order that first if that's what you're in the mood for! Their omelette a are made French style and always delicious. We love coming here on the weekends

Once again had a wonderful breakfast this morning sat at counter at first but too cold there so asked if we could switch to small table in back much warmer, for our two year marriage anniversary

I have walked by Oceanview Diner sooo many times while shopping on 4th street in Berkeley. I always see a huge crowd waiting outside so I decided to try it this weekend! Luckily they have a yelp waitlist so we were able to shop while waiting for our table. We came on a Sunday around 12:15 pm and we had to wait around 45 mins before being seated. I ordered the Buttermilk pancakes and pork sausage. The pancakes were good, super fluffy. And the pork sausage was really tasty!

I looooooove this place!If you're looking for old school diner vibes, this is the place for you. Sitting at the counter, you get to watch the hustle and bustle of waiters and cook staff while sipping on a hot coffee or some orange juice. Their menu is pretty extensive for a diner, which is great because you can always try something new!Personally, I love their home fries :) I haven't had a chance to try their souffle pancakes, but they're on my list!!

Been here multiple times over the last 17 years. My favorites are their pastries and their corn beef hash breakfast dish. Staff is friendly, the vibe is old school diner.

My friend and I stopped by after visiting the 4th St shops since we were lured in by the red booths and the traditional American diner interior! One of the things I noticed quickly about the place was how nice everybody was! I loved our server who reminded us of George Lopez because he was just as funny. We split the California breakfast and the waffle and it was definitely enough food for the two of us! The waffle was pretty standard, but I was surprised by how good the CA breakfast was because the ham edges were grilled and charred perfectly. The potatoes had the best texture and not too dry or raw and I loved how each toast came buttered! It's the little things that go a long way!

Very classic, authentic diner vibes! We sat at the "bar." Food is amazing--egg dishes especially. Nicely located on fourth street near several stores and parking.
