Occasio Winery

A wonderful afternoon of wine tasting. We tried 5 wines for $20. My party and I had the priority wine pass and we had a two for one deal. The Chardonnay was buttery crisp, and tart. The Pinot Noir from Sonoma coast, Wild Cat Mountain area was spicy not tannic and paired well with the chocolate I brought. The Livermore Cab is 100% Cabernet it was tannic had a nice aroma, but not my favorite. James our server was kind and friendly, always a delight to see him when I visit. The Zinfandel had a fruity aroma, spicy and from Amador county ShakeRidge Ranch Vineyard. Lastly, the Late harvest was so good smooth, and tasty. My favorite was the Rosè fruity and crisp, the Zin was a delight as well as the Pinot and Late Harvest.

We dropped in at 2pm on Saturday (Labor Day weekend). It wasn't busy at all. It's next door to The Steven Kent Winery and Rosa Fierro Cellars. There's both outdoor and indoor seatings. The tasting was $20 for 5 wines. The wines had more flavor than those Italian wines, but they were acidic. Some fruity and some earthy. The cab was a bit tannic too. Not sure they allow outside food but it doesn't seem like they sell food. They also couldn't open any other wines off the tasting menu for us to try.

Wine was great. Must try the Teslo! Patrick was an amazing host. I'll definitely be back to visit and taste some more!

A tiny winery with an unassuming tasting room punching well above its weight in quality. Despite only producing a few hundred cases each year, the offer a surprisingly variety of wines from a lite and refreshing rose to a bold and rich Cabernet. Their merlot and Syrah are also wonderful expressions of the grapes. While they aren't farmers, so they source all their fruit from the local area, they definitely have a knack for quality and finesse. Kudos to the wine maker.I was introduced to their wines from a gift by my SFO-based son so wanted to see them in person. While not as glamorous as some other wineries in the valley, they are making and selling a quality product at reasonable prices with the top end being in the $40-$50 range. Definitely Sotheby's a visit and at only $15 for a 5-wine tasting flight, a great value as well..

This is an outstanding winery with fabulous selections. I have been a member for the past six years.

I love this winery, a very intimate setting. They have excellent wine!I love when they have live music as well.

They have a great Syrah. The Rose was outstanding also. They also partner with Sidewinders and members can purchase spirits.

Really nice wine release party. Catered by Posada. Tacos, sliders, chicken casserole with mole and fritters with salad. Delicious with the wine. And the cab that was released was very tasty indeed. The first glass we had was more tannic and acid than the second glass. I thought we were having two different wines- both good, but one that needed a little more aging and one that was mature now. The second glass had a wonderful cherry nose and silky soft tannins. Also had sediment which the first glass did not have. At any rate, delicious wine can be found here and if you become a member you'll enjoy their release parties. Sidewinder is a very attractive and welcoming space.Edit- I need to mention what a great time we had with Rick who works at Occasio. What a wonderful wealth of information he is about the wine! Actually, everyone who pours at Ocassio is fabulous, but Rick was so willing to share his knowledge with us. We really enjoyed learning from him!

Amazing wines! I've been a member for years. Quant and the staff, owner, and wine maker are amazing!
