The extra mushroom I asked for NOT to be in my bowl. I swear there's more mushroom than noodles, I literally got it in every bite.

Definitely hands down one of the best ramen places I've ever been to. The server was super nice and friendly. The ramen was really bomb, not too chewy and just on point. The broth cooked perfectly and mouthful of flavors 10/10. The store itself was spacious and organized.I'd definitely will be coming back to try their other items on the menu, and highly this place to my friends and family. 10/10

I have been a regular customer here for the past two years and although the food here is delicious, especially for the prices, it seems the service has really declined. The new manager presents himself as lazy, and doesn't seem to care about customers. My most recent experience here took place on Monday, February 24th: I placed an order for Spicy Tonkotsu with thin/curly noodles (I've been getting the same order for the last two years and have never had any issues) when the waiter came back to serve me, I took a bite and noticed I was given the incorrect noodles. I flagged down the waiter to let him know what happened and he assured me this error would be corrected. He came back and served me the correct noodles on a plate, when I asked him if I would be getting a new bowl with broth, he told me I would be charged additional since I "touched the food" even though I took one bite to try it which is how I knew my order was made incorrectly. I was a little confused as to why I would be getting charged extra for an error the staff made. Why would I pour the correct noodles into my current bowl with the incorrect noodles in it? I would think the kitchen would just give me a new bowl of ramen for no additional cost since this error fell on the staff. The waiter proceeded to tell me if I wanted it to be "free" he would have to consult with his manager. Mind you I was not requesting anything for "free" I was still paying for my order, I just requested it to be remade since it was made incorrectly. When he went up to discuss this issue with his manager, he was paid zero attention from his manager, he was too busy handling a personal call at the bar rather than be attentive to his staff/customers. Obu Ramen has been a staple to me, I am always eager to go and enjoy a delicious bowl of ramen here, the quality of the food is excellent. New management/staff, not so much. The staff seems to have no prior experience working in a restaurant setting, especially when it comes to customer service. I hope this changes in the future and there can be actual qualified employees working here. Service really needs improvement.

I got the spicy miso ramen with thin curly noodles. My partner got the spicy tonkatsu ramen with the same type of noodles. Portion is a good size I got fullQuite quickly. We also got truffle fries which were really good and fresh and calamari rings. Not pictured but I also ordered the mint cucumber lemonade.Pros: food was mostly good. Both ramens had good flavor and the pork was very tender. The fries were really good. The calamari rings were fried nicely and had a good ratio of breading to calamari. The lemonade was fine nothing special but wouldn't get again. Cons: my broth was lukewarm and my noodles were not fully separated. I had to take it home to reheat it but it was good when I did that. The calamari rings were supposed to come with 5 rings I think but it only came with 4. The dipping sauce also wasn't the best. Service wasn't great either but there was only one server and it got busy so I will give some grace here. The server was very kind. Overall the experience here was 3/5. I'm sure it's better on less busy days with more staff working but I won't be returning to find out. Perhaps takeout would have been a better option.

Great ramen! I had the classic tonkatsu and really enjoyed the taste of everything. The broth was creamy and the meat was tasty. I also had the cheese tonkatsu and chicken karaage! Both were also very delicious. I recommend checking this place out!

I went here on a Saturday around 2:10pm for lunch and there was no wait! There were a about 2 groups dining at that time, but it wasn't crowded inside, so we were quickly seated. We ordered the Chashu Ramen, Classic Tonkotsu Ramen, and the Cheese Tonkatsu. This ramen place allows you to pick what type of noodles you want, so of course, I had to get my thick noodles since I love chewy noodles! The Cheese Tonkatsu was good, but very simple in taste; it was fun seeing the constant cheese pull though! I'd recommend this place! All of the food tasted good and I like how they have a big variety of items to order here. They sell ramen, rice bowls, yummy appetizers, and a bunch of cocktails too, so I though that was cool! Another thing I liked about this place is how they let you choose the type of noodles you want if you pick one of the ramen dishes.

Well flavored ramen. Nice presentation of all of the dishes. Service continues to be on the slow side, more so due to the kitchen not the servers. (They ran out of rice and had to cook more. However, we were told there would be a wait.) Also, when you add cold temperature ingredients (corn, tofu, etc.) to hot ramen broth, it reduces the temperature of the entire dish way too much. The egg was colder than usual, as well. This all should be taken into consideration prior to serving to the customer. All told a two-hour ramen dinner.Depending on the time of day, the large parking lot may be pretty full.

Obu Ramen is my family's goto ramen spot in San Jose when we don't want to deal with ramen nagi lines! Really great interior, ambiance, plenty of parking & desserts and grocery stores nearby to walk around after.Besides these positives, the food always blows us away with taste & portion!!- Miso Ramen: Delicious broth & thin noodles are perfectly chewy and plentiful. Came with a soft boiled egg & the yolk added to the creaminess of the broth.- Cheesy pork cutlet: Great appetizer for two cheese lovers but the meat was mediocre. I would recommend their takoyaki instead!Great food with decent prices (~$13 for ramen & $10 for appetizers)! I will for sure continue going here!!

I'm amending my review for a few reasons, mainly for the consumer to be discerning and have a full understanding that this place is hit or miss. When it is good (service and food) it's very very good, but when it's bad, it's horrid. Good day:Service is on point, prices are fair, and the ramen is served hot and very tasty. Bad day (actual experiences, and I've been here several times as it's my go-to ramen place)Broth lukewarm, tonkatsu overcooked and dry (today), the server doesn't ask your noodle thickness preferred and just chooses what they want, server forgets appetizer, server doesn't bring the proper drink you asked for and there can just be a lack of attentiveness from service. All that said, they offer a semi-full bar, restrooms and establishment always clean and when the food is good, it's banging. I hate that this place is so inconsistent. It makes me hesitate to recommend it to friends or take people here as I don't know if they/we will go on a good or bad day. My warning to you is to go and just pray it's a good day.

Out of the two Ramen options we gave a try, Obu Chicken Ramen was better as it was based on chicken broth and was more flavorful with all the protein. Creamy Veggie Ramen was okay, not the best I have had I would say. Though creamy, lacked the umami tinge. Restaurant ambience was good, especially the bar counter where I have had my ramen. For that price, it's definitely worth a go.

Service is horrible! The staff were very rude they treated me like a dasher instead of a customer when I had asked for utensils and when I asked for napkins they responded with you can only have one. Food is ok but definitely give less than what's listed.
