My wife and I stopped by Noodles Fresh on a quiet Friday afternoon for a late lunch around 1:00 p.m., and we were surprised to find the entire restaurant empty. We decided to share a few dishes: the green onion pancake, beef noodle soup, and their Hong Kong-style lemongrass pork chops. After placing our order, the food arrived quickly--everything was on the table in about 10 minutes. The green onion pancake was a nice start to the meal. The pancake is deep-fried but manages to be fluffy and light without feeling overly greasy.Next up was the lemongrass pork chop rice platter. The pork was sliced thin, similar to the grilled pork you'd find in a Vietnamese vermicelli bowl. The seasoning was spot on, with the lemongrass flavor really shining through. I also loved the pickled veggies on the side--they added a refreshing tang to balance the dish. Finally, the beef noodle soup was the last to arrive. Everything about it felt well-balanced. The noodles were cooked to perfection, with just the right amount of chew. The beef pieces were tender, with a good mix of lean cuts and bits of tendon for extra texture. What really stood out to me was the broth--it didn't rely on oil for flavor, which gave it a lighter, cleaner taste compared to other beef noodle soups I've had. When I'm in the Berkeley area, my go-to spots are usually Noodle Dynasty on Telegraph or Imperial Soup in Oakland. But after trying Noodles Fresh, I'd happily stop by again to explore more of their menu.

Great food that is quality and tastes great. - hot and sour was balanced, very enjoyable-bok choy was cooked perfectly, bright and not stringyI like that you could order very regionally different foods in one place. We had Hunan, Hainan, and Hong Kong soups all at one table and all excellent! The restaurant had excellent spacing between tables and a good ambient temperature. Defiantly try the dish before adding anything, it's so well prepared and balanced. I did add chili oil toward the end - not to give anything away but the chili oil will add a hearty rich smoke flavor. It's not spicy, just an additional layer of flavor. I can't wait to come back!

Came to Berkeley for an event and needed a place to eat for an early dinner. I was craving Chinese and noodles with soup and Noodles Fresh popped up. It had what I was looking for and had good reviews so my boyfriend and I decided to give it a go. It was early so we were the only ones there, so it was quiet, but we didn't mind. There's the option order through their website/QR code on the table or the waitress. I ordered the Taiwan Beef Noodle Soup and my boyfriend got the Hainan Chicken Rice Plate. We shared a scallion pancake as an appetizer. I'd say the portions are a decent size and will keep you full. My noodle soup was perfect and exactly what I wanted. The Hainan chicken was really good and my boyfriend had to complaints eating the whole thing. The scallion pancake was flaky and had enough filling inside. Overall, the food was great and would come here again. It would be a spot I would take my family!

Ordered delivery from here and thought the food was decent. I ordered the potato salad, cumin lamb, and salt & pepper chicken wings. Everything arrived warm and everything seemed like small portions. The cumin lamb was okay. It had good flavor but did not taste as good as other restaurants. It had a light cumin flavor with a hint of gaminess. It also needed a bit of salt and more cumin flavor! The potato salad was interesting. It was slightly spicy and had a numbing effect on the tongue. A bit too much for me but still good when eaten in small portions. The salt & pepper chicken wings were okay as well. It was a small portions but tasted good. I love anything salt & pepper (e.g. Tofu, chicken wings, short ribs, etc.)Overall the food was decent.

Beautiful Asian decor greets you as you enter Noodles Fresh. It is nice & spacious so larger groups can be accommodated. Appetizers:Vegetarian 8" pancake- onion pancake that was very crispy & didn't have the onion aroma to entice me to eat 2 slices, so I wouldn't re-order next time.Chongqing Beef Tendon- my favorite appetizer that I always order bc not only is the chili oil spice infused with a lot of authentic spices, but the tendon pieces were thinly sliced with cucumber added to the bottom.String Bean-very fresh & wok fried to a perfect crisp & flavor to satisfy.Dan Dan Noodle-wheat ramen noodles with mung bean, Bok Choy, ground pork & 2 sides of chili oil(Sichuan Peanut chili oil) that you mix in yourself I guess to add to your own specification. The portion was enough to feed 5 given we had 2 appetizers, a vegetable dish & a Hong Kong BBQ pork bowl. Great flavor & not overly spicy.Hong Kong BBQ Pork Bowl- a large bowl of soupy egg noodles with BBQ pork with a broth that was well made & generous in portion size. The BBQ pork was thinly sliced & wasn't fatty. The Bok Choy was fresh. A very common dish that one doesn't get tired of eating. This is my 2nd visit to Noodles Freshbecause it has pretty large portions & is reasonably priced.

I really liked the food, large number of menu choices, and dishes from various parts of China. Service was fast and non-intrusive. Large portions, reasonable prices, and good flavors, would definitely go back. Decor and ambiance is a little meh. Nice high ceilings with good air circulation are a plus; the TV on the wall showing the news and whatever program came on after didn't help the setting.

Pretty great spot with lots to offer on the menu. The menu doesn't focus specifically on one part of Chinese cuisine, rather it showcases many regions from Hong Kong to Xinjiang, yunnan to sichuan. Pretty wide range indeedService was attentive, high ceilings in what looks like an ex-pizza Parlor with a big pizza oven in the middle of the open kitchen.Food range was big, taste was 8/10, so pretty decent. Sometimes may be better to focus on one region though so the menu wouldn't look so spasticChili oil that we asked for wasn't actually all that spicy at all, more so fragrant

Wednesday 2024/03/06 19:00- diverse menu of classic noodles and other dishes from all across China- service was a little rude, and the waitress forgot about one of the dishes I ordered- we dined in as a party of 2Guilin beef tendon stew 桂林鹵水米粉 ($13.95): "Rice noodle with beef shank & tendon, peanut, pickled string bean, garlic, scallion & cilantro," and a soy-based sauce on the side- despite stew being in its name, it was actually a dry mixed noodle, but I think it would be better served in soup- generous amount of noodles and a fair amount of toppings- every component was prepared well, but the overall dish lacks flavorVegetarian goose 素鹅 ($10.95): "Vegetarian, shiitake mushroom wrapped in tofu skin. serve cold" - a rare item to find at restaurants- tofu skin was fresh but slightly toothsome Shanghai smoked fish 上海熏鱼 ($12.95): "Spice-smoked tilapia fish. serve cold"- somewhat overpriced for the portion size (6-7 bite-sized pieces)- fish was fresh and not too oily- sauce's flavor slightly missed the mark, a little too sour

Flavor - 3Portions - 5Price - 4The food here is decent but nothing to write home about. Not sure what everyone is raving about, but maybe it was the dish I got. We ordered 2 vegetarian noodle dishes - the Shanghai Scallion and the Vegetarian Stir Fry. Portions are huge, but both of the dishes lacked an oomph in the flavor. They don't have so many vegetables and it is very noodle forward but if the sauce was full of flavor, I wouldn't have minded. Even with the extra sauce on the Shanghai Scallion, the flavor just didn't really do it for me. I had to add soy sauce and sriracha and I shouldn't have to add sauces to fix my food. Overall, would probably not go back because I've had way better noodles elsewhere. I probably also prefer Thai noodles because the flavor is better in general compared to Chinese noodles (shoutout to Pad Kee Mao, the GOAN - greatest of all noodles)

I only did take out. When I picked up the place was empty. Service was fast. I ordered Wor Wonton soup. It was good. A little light on the vegetables. The broth was straight stock.
