It's March 21st, and we are in a shelter in place situation with the Corona Virus. Guess what? There's no eggs in the supermarkets! No fresh eggs anywhere? I decided to go where most people aren't going......Chinatown. So I went to my favorite market in Oakland Chinatown to get anything. What did I find? A big stack of cartons of eggs. And beautiful oranges and Chinese Broccoli. No problem finding what I needed at this market.Near Webster Street x 9th

The name of this place always cracks me up and although I only find a few items I like in here, I always go in there just to check it out. Sometimes there is really great fruit in there, but it's a fluke mostly.

If you really want to have a go to market, this is your place! People working here are always nice especially the cashiers who will greet you and answer your questions about their variety. I came by a couple of times during the morning and evenings and noticed how hard they all work and make sure everything is kept clean. More importantly, it is pretty fresh and cheap. It is located in a pretty convenient spot in front of the plaza as well as next to a dining area. I personally enjoy coming here to buy my vegetables and dried needs. Do come here and spend on quality AND reasonable prices.

the market's name is tan duc aka new dicks, not new dick. passed this market many times but no buy. this time saw okui farms, oceano, ca fresh strawberries ( 1 lb.79)-not sweet. when inspecting, saw some berries were moldy already.-some berries turning dark brown, probably aging.foodnotes:-strawberries should be brought bright red not dark brown.-does dicks buy surplus veggies to sell cheap? maybe yes.-few people seem to shop here.-regular grocery store here with meat market also.

This store has an excellent selection of traditional Chinese dry goods and snacks and stocks some decent looking raw meat and produce for prices that are slightly cheaper than the surrounding markets. The women who work the counter and register here are very friendly, they always greet me upon entering and are always more than willing to answer questions about various products they carry. If you do choose to stop by this market, be sure to visit the self serve drink coolers at the back of the store, they house many delicious and refreshing Asian drinks like Lychee, Mangosteen, and Black Soy.

My friend Tsada K always seems to frequent this market. You will always hear "clean up on aisle 9."

I discovered this place a couple weeks ago when my friend and I were grocery shopping in the area . We walked buy and saw some nice , fresh veggies so we just had to buy a bunch . I was in the area earlier today and had some extra time so I decided to walk around the area and shop for groceries . I didn't look at all the grocery store in the area but looked at most . Most of the veggies I saw at other grocery stores in the area were either moldy , old , or not fresh . The veggies here might not be the best , but they're pretty good ... better than the veggies at most of the grocery stores in the area . The veggies at this grocery store aren't old and moldy ... they're nice and fresh ! The reason why the veggies at the groceries stores weren't fresh might be due to the fact that I didn't come earlier enough in the day . Next time I shall go grocery shopping in the area at an earlier time & see . I love this place ... I love how they carry fresh veggies , fresh mushrooms , and fresh-cut ho fun ( rice noodles ) . It seems like they sell some other things as well but I didn't really bother to look . My friend and I had a look at their meat section and their meat doesn't look that nice or fresh . Will definately be back for the fresh veggies and fresh ho fun but I think I will need to go somewhere else for my meat .
