I'm sad that this place isn't getting more (positive) reviews! This is a favorite of my parents + where my dad requested that we go for his birthday dinner. :]We often get the tofu pudding (one of my favorite desserts! :] you can get it sweetened or unsweetened) to eat throughout the week and it's a great place for takeout. We've been coming for years and would appear more often if not for the fact that it's located further away from us.Over the years, we've tried a number of different dishes here, including:Dry Fried Beef Chow FunSalt Fish with Chicken Fried Rice (my parents like this one; I don't like salted fish but that's a me problem)Sweet & Sour ChickenLemon ChickenOrange ChickenBroccoli BeefBeef Stew with Chinese CabbageTofu with Brown SauceHomestyle TofuTofu ChickenThe lamb with sour vegetable soup is probably our absolute favorite entree here -- you get a ginormous bowl that is loaded with super tender lamb, veggies, and bean thread noodles. It's perfect for a cold day. :]Great place for the staples if you're in the mood for legit Chinese comfort food. Service is quick and friendly and the prices are lovely/super reasonable. This is super close to one of my closest friends, so I'm probably going to pop by more (great way to supplement my meal prepping...)

Always a go-to restaurant in Union City. My family has been going here ever since I was little. Reliable Chinese food. Never lets you down. 06.17.2023. green beans. Fried fish in sauce (tai style). Basil chicken wings. Seafood chow fun. Green beans definitely highlight. Others were mid.11.25.2023. Spicy Fish in Chili Oil. Schewan style mala chicken. Green beans with tofu. Salt and pepper pork chops. total 57.70. Everything was so yummy. the chicken was not dry as expected. I could skip this one, not too much mala flavor, which was good for mama. I like regular green beans better than the one with tofu. Pork chops were yummy and crispy. And spicy fish as usual was good. Not too much mala taste.06.30.2024. Pork Chow Mein. Orange Chicken. Green Beans. Salt and Pepper Tofu. Schewan style mala chicken (with bone). 70.95 total. (Don't judge I was feeling better Panda Express American Chinese food) Orange chicken was meh but my mom liked and she doesn't usually like orange chicken. I LOVED the noodles. Green beans yummy just as usual. Tofu needed a tad more salt. Chicken also yummy again. Tastier than last time I think.

New China has delicious chow mein, super good salt and pepper chicken wings, and all the food is well prepared and very reasonably priced. Compared to other more popular restaurants in this shopping plaza, New China is seriously underrated. Many a time I've passed by their neighboring restaurants with lines out the door just to get into New China to pick up classic scrumptious Chinese food without the wait. Definitely a must try!

This is a nice option for casual Chinese food. It seems most of their business is take-out, and that's what we did too. The food is typical Chinese dishes that's not extraordinary, but still done well. We didn't get any chopsticks or fortune cookies with our take-out order, but we don't care for those anyway. What we had...+ Shrimp fried rice (5/5) - this was surprisingly very good. The rice was not hard, even the next day. The shrimps were good size, not the baby shrimps. + Singapore curry thin noodles (4/5) - Nice curry flavor with lots of different proteins, including shrimp and beef.+ Chicken vegetable (4/5) - I like the mix of veggies you get, including bok choy, broccoli, and carrots. The chicken meat is all thigh meat. I would have preferred breast, but this was good too.+ Honey walnut shrimp (3/5) - There was a little too much batter on the shrimps, and I didn't get any "honey". The sauce was savory with no detectable sweetness. + Salty fried chicken (3/5) - Like popcorn chicken but saltier. Pretty good except the chicken was kinda dry.Overall, a decent place to satisfy your Chinese food cravings.

The food was generally not as flavorful as other places we have been. It seemed a bit bland, needing extra white pepper to make it a bit better. The service was ok. And the place was ok clean. The tables were a little sticky and the condiment containers were a little oily, and the bathroom needed a bit of a cleaning. While they sell soft tofu (Tagalog taho) that was refreshing, it and the pork dish were the only really nicely prepared, in terms of taste. The pork was super tender, the fried tofu was delightful, and the sauce was delicious. I will say some great value for the money. Given that the flavors were so light that it needed more white pepper and flavor in general, and the starchiness was so high, we will likely not be back soon.

When we walked in, we were immediately seated and had hot tea served. Our order came about 20 minutes after, and all the dishes came at once. The green beans had a good crunch, and our eggplant wood ear mushroom dish had a good saltiness to them. We also ordered fried fish, which I thought was decent, though I wish it had a sauce or something similar to complement. The fried pork was also decent too. I'm not too big of a fan of the braised beef stew in general, but my partner likes it!This place feels very open with lots of seating. Overall, decent food with good service!

Very kind people and quick. Idk if they had new cooks bc of Christmas but the food was really disappointing. Ordered walnut shrimp, fried rice, Broccoli beef, wonton soup, and sweet sour chicken. All 6 of us agreed food was bland and not worth it. Wonton soup was the worst with the soggiest wonton and no flavor. Let's say panda is way better. Wish them the best

We ordered more but forgot to take pictures. My parents love this place so much and wanted to take my boyfriend. He says it reminds him of his parent's cooking. The workers are super friendly. Their dishes are flavorful and perfect portion. We had so much leftovers! The ambience feels cozy and quiet. If you want authentic Chinese food, definitely come here. So many choices to choose from. Now they have a menu with pictures to help you decide.
