Great find, situated near Union Square & Chinatown, on the outskirts of the Tenderloin. This is not a scary walk, but it can be challenging because of the hills. Believe me, it's worth the hike, & good exercise.Wow, the guy at the counter was super friendly & helpful. I was looking for a hard to find bottle of Lillet Blanc, which they don't carry. He went out of his way to look up where I could find a bottle. The place is stacked with a good selection of California wines. You get personal service to find a wine in your price range. I saw anything from $30 to $230 bottles. Locals get 10% off. This is a great place to go for a housewarming, dinner party, or special occasion, as they have chocolates, jewelry, wine stoppers, soap, etc for gifts. Destination shopping.

This is a superbly-curated wine shop in the heart of the Tenderloin district. They carry a rather small, but impeccably selected lineup of wines, mostly from California. They have a few "unicorn" labels---very rare, very expensive.Don was experienced and very patient as we perused the possibilities. He offered some recommendations given our preferences and budget and we walked away with a handful of treasures.Napa Valley Winery Exchange is the epitome of what a wine shop should be: careful curation of product and excellent customer service

Such a great little shop if you're looking to acquire domestic wine (California, Oregon, Washington mainly). They have a great selection and some harder to get wines in the physical shop but, the wine club is where it's at!I also love the attention of service when I walk in. It's a smaller shop but they always have someone to help you with your purchase. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly and will get you a bottle in the price point you desire. Before SIP I popped in there to get some Sauvignon Blanc and everyone was super awesome!Don't let the location fool you, this place is classy!

I was staying at a nearby hotel when I randomly walked by this store. I stopped by because they stated they could package and ship wine which was perfect for me since I flying out in a few days. I was greeted immediately and asked if I needed any help. I am not a wine expert but I was buying this as a gift. I told them my price range and the type of wine I was looking for and he had a few recommendations and described them to me. I ended up purchasing 2 bottles and a shipping box so I could check it in on my flight back and I spent $60 including everything. The box itself was only a few dollars. The wine was packed inside a styrofoam case and then inside a box which had carrying handles too.For those who are flying Alaska Airlines, they will let mileage plan members (which is free to sign up for) to check in a case of wine (12 bottles) for free. I had no issues with transporting the wine myself. We recently had one of the bottles of wine and it was exactly what I was looking for. They also offer a 10% discount to locals. Overall, no matter your budget I would recommend stopping by and viewing their selection (not everything pictured)

I am really happy to have found this wine shop, and even happier that they have a good selection of half-bottles. And along with the wide selection it's nice to get some expert advice for each bottle.I had the pleasure of talking with Wine Consultant, Midori, and she was very helpful in pointing out all the different varietals and appellations. We had a good time discussing the different Russian River and Dry Creek wines that are available.I know that if I need something extra special and delicious........this is the place to shop for wine. And yes, they do have some single vineyard wines that are a little pricey, but paying for that quality is well worth it, and there are those occasions that call for an expensive bottle of wine. I was also able to find some wines that are reasonably priced. And with the help of the staff, just let them know your price range and you'll leave very happy. For that reason I've classified their price range as "moderate."

I came to this shop to buy wine for myself and a souvenir. I'm not familiar with them though, the staff is absolutely knowledgeable and introduced me to the best bottles of wines for me by my ambiguous request. Furthermore, They have tasted every bottle that is on the shelf and have thoroughly reviewed them as well. (The thing is, it became my favorite and the person I gave the souvenir to was really pleased as well.)It seems Japanese customers often come here so that they understand our sense of taste. Also there were some Japanese explanations here.

We stopped in to buy wine for a cruise and the owner is personable and VERY well versed in all the wines in the store. They specialize in microbatches of CA wines (25 cases or less). They have tasted all of the wines in the store. Highly recommend!
