Very much so a hidden gem. Location: Located in East side SJ, this hidden gem offers the best dry noodles I have ever had. They also give you broth on the side which is also very flavorful. The portions here are very much so worth the price. Though there is a parking lot, depending what time you go it might be hard to find parking. Be prepared to pay in cash as this place is a CASH ONLY spot. Food: I order their dry noddle every time and I visit. There truly is nothing like it (within SJ). I would also suggest ordering the Chinese donuts so you can dip it in the broth your noodles come with. Service: The food comes out fast and they take your order right away. Overall, I would highly recommend you to try this spot! And do not forget to bring CASH!

I came by for lunch on a Wednesday around 12PM and got sat right away. Please note that it's cash only! The plaza is not the best and parking is a little bit sketchy. The inside is not the most updated and the table was a little sticky. Service was minimal. I got the Hu Tieu Nam Vang Dac Biet dry style. I appreciated that the noodles have already been mixed in the soy sauce mix. Broth is on the side with the bone. All the toppings are standard. The flavor was good too. One thing that put me off was just how oily it was. Oil is needed in a dish like this but it was just too much. The quay (fried donut dough) was stale too.Overall, 3 stars. Tastes good but needs improvements.

This is my family's go to spot whenever we are all in San Jose. The service is good and they quickly sit you down. The food is very great and one of the few Cambodian food places I know. The inside ambiance is a very standard restaurant nothing special. But the food is cheap and tasty and that checks all my boxes to be honest.

Foods tatse alright! The server was standard. I'll be more happy if there is no server standing behide or in front of me staring at me while I taking my foods. I know price is getting pricy everywhere but $17 for a SINGLE dish of food without anything extra is a bit too much. I dont say that is expensive but it needs to be adjusted while I have to pay cash! Considering between 2-3 cause there is nothing special above average. Nothing is too bad to be judged!

One of my favorite places for hu tieu nam vang in San Jose. It's hard to beat one of the OG originals. I love me a good bowl of dry noodles and they honestly just do it right. The noodles, the toppings, the sauce, and just everything. I keep trying to find a better place but constantly find myself circling back here. The heart wants what the heart wants. Don't forget to order some chinese donuts to dunk into your soup for a delicious doughy treat! Yum

CASH ONLY When I was a kid, my dad took me to Nam Vang pretty often. I didn't like hu tieu or even pho at the age. As an adult, I love noodles and noodle soups. I have a craving / need to have it every weekend. My husband and I came back to Nam Vang once or twice a few years back to try them again but we never really cared for their sauce...more soy sauce based and not sweet enough for our tastes. We recently went to their sistering location, N & K Noodles inside Grand Century Mall. We thought that place was OK so we wanted to go back to Nam Vang again to compare. Plus I was craving hu tieu again and didn't know where else we should go. It's located in the Lion Alvin Center. Parking is tight but since we came on a Thursday, we found a spot right away. We're always so weary of this area because of all the terrible drivers. It's pretty ghetto and dirty too. We got there around noon and the restaurant was half full. There was a sign that basically showed a "no strollers" picture and but they didn't say anything to us when we walked in with ours. Probably because it wasn't a packed day. We did have to park it in the inside near the wall so it was awkward and cramped but the waitress said it's to protect the baby from the hot soup if it spilled. Waitress said in viet: "Okay to spill on adult but can't burn a baby." Lol We ordered.. DAC BIET HU TIEU DAI NAM VANG KHO $16.95 -special cambodian clear chewy noodles, dry style. It had shrimp, ground pork, sliced liver and sliced pork. Topped with fried garlic, green onion and cilantro. It came with a side of pork bone soup. My noodles were chewy and not overcooked. I squeezed some lime in and ate it with their pickled green chili peppers but it still tasted plain. The sauce on my noodles was too light or maybe the noodles didn't really absorb it? My husband got it with hu tieu (rice noodles) and his was more flavorful. 3/5* DAU CHAO QUAY $3.50 -chinese donut. It came out warm, lightly toasted and still chewy / fluffy. YUM. Just kinda small for the price. 4/5* XIU MAI $3.75 -pork meatball. Came out hot, juicy and pretty flavorful. I liked dunking the donuts into the fat juices. Again, kinda small for the price. 4/5* They also have mi (egg noodles), hu tieu xao (chow fun), mi xao (chow mein), com chien (fried rice), com dia (rice plates), bun (rice noodle), chao (porridge) canh (soup), kho to (clay pot), lau (hotpot) and some meat, veggie & seafood entrees. I was surprised to see how extensive their menu was. I thought they only offered different variations of hu tieu nam vang. Lol To pay, we just grabbed the tab they left at our table and paid with the cashier. Between the two restaurants, I think Nam Vang has more flavor if you get hu tieu and not hu tieu dai. But I would still dine at N & K only because it's newer, brighter, and cleaner. The location is not as ghetto either..parking can still be terrible though. Lol

Many years ago I used to always comes to this Nam Vang Restaurant to eat and always enjoyed eating here. Hu Tieu Nam Vang( Phnom Penh Noodles) Dry was one of my favorite meal with the meatball broth on the side. Now a lot has changed since the last time I was here. They raised the price on the Food, Portions Size are smaller, and the restaurant interior is different setups. This place offers many popular Chinese's Dishes, Cambodian favorites and Vietnamese Specialties such as: simple appetizers, Chow Mein, Chow Fun, Variety of Fried Rice Options, Rice Noodles, Porridges, Seafood items, soups, and Delightful Desserts as well! Luckily I was Hungry and had enough Cash on me! It is a Cash Only Restaurant!!!!!!

Note: This place is cash onlyI came here on a Saturday lunch with a friend. Parking was pretty difficult in this plaza. The inside was not too busy.I got the Dry Noodles (#1 on the menu) and Chinese doughnuts. The doughnuts are delicious if you soak them in the soup that comes with the dry noodles. The noodles themselves were also really good, but the meat in the noodles and soup were kinda rough and needed more taste. Overall it was pretty good.

I came here with a friend on Wednesday afternoon. The service was decently fast getting our order in 5-10 minutes. Both of us got the number 1 of hu tieu. We also got the Chinese donut to dip into our soup which I highly recommend. The food was super tasty and filling. The total came to around 18 per person. The place is cash only. Definitely a place to check out!

Was craving for hu tieu and a friend recommended us this spot. We order all the hu tieu dishes (dry & soup). We also ordered the special banh canh. They all came out very fast. We noticed the broth were all the same like it was taken from the same pot. The taste was OK. The pork rib did not taste fresh because you can taste that tanh odor. If you're looking to try it for the first time, I wouldn't say no but I would not come back. The best hu tieu in my opinion would be Tan Dinh Cafe in vn town. The service and space here are all Ok. Nothing outstanding.
