Every time we pass by, the diner is full so we always pass. Until this past Sunday. We went on an early hike and was able to grab an early breakfast at My Cafe!!! Finally, I was able to enjoy what I've been seeing everyone else enjoy! Upon entering, you're greeted with warm welcomes from several staff members. They have tables lined up alongside the windows to the right, and the bar stool section to the left. We were seated in the back dining area, as the front section was already full. Which was fine for our table of 3. Lighting could be a tad bit higher in the back dining area, but other than that, everything else was amazing. From any available server coming by, asking if everything was okay or if we needed anything, to our cups being filled with coffee or other beverages that were on our table. The chicken fried steak benedict was great. Crispy batter, sausage gravy, on a flat biscuit, which was too sweet to my liking. I would've preferred it on an English muffin like your typical benedict, but that's my own preference. The French Toast was HUUUGE and totally recommended.Overall, I'd say top service, great food, and nice establishment.

My Cafe is the sister/brother or cousin of Country Way. Similar items on the menu and portions are pretty decent. My brother invited me mum and yours truly. The food is good can't complain. We were here on a Sunday morning and the food prep time was a bit slow. I notice other people that arrived later order after we did received their food before us. I don't know what the cooks were doing to mess up the orders in the order they come in. Two of the servers were very forgetful. We asked for water and coke twice and they never brought it to our table. We had to ask a third time and they finally brought it. I also noticed one of the servers running his fingers through his hair and scratching his head then reaching for a clean glass to pour water then took it to one of the tables. That is so unsanitary. I was glad he wasn't our sever. The menus were sticky which I'm sure don't get disinfected at all. How many red flags do yall think go up in the kitchen? l wonder if My Cafe would pass a health inspection.

My husband and I come about every Sunday. We receive a warm welcome and amazing service! Food is great, and priced well. The ambiance is that of a small town cafe, and we love coming here to watch the games on or just chat. Great staff, great food!

This place is one of my favorites! They've never failed to give me amazing service, and it's always been nice to see familiar faces working here as I've been coming throughout the years. I'm always recommending this spot to people I know, or bringing them here for their first time. On top of their wonderful, attentive staff & service, their food is consistently always so good! They have a great variety on their menu and I love trying any new items I spot on the menu. Yesterday I stopped in with a friend for their mimosa special which is a great deal! So many yummy fresh juices to choose from. This spot is a Newark staple :)

This place was great! We were seated immediately and everyone who attended us was very friendly. They came to take our order quick and refill drinks. The food was also amazing. Best breakfast potatoes we had in a while! Very well seasoned and a perfect mix of crunchy and soft that paired great with both plates. We were very surprised we hadn't heard of this place sooner. Will definitely have to go again!

Updating that while I'm still not a fan of the country gravy, I've tried a few other things and they were very good. I'm a big fan of the breakfast tacos and their potatoes are so good! I ate this at the restaurant and service was good. Very classic diner atmosphere. I also really enjoyed the drip coffee, it had good flavor. Sometimes diner coffee can be bland or burnt, this was pretty good. My husband enjoys the breakfast burrito still, so quality has been consistent.

Wife and I were in the area one morning. We saw this restaurant and decided to try it. The restaurant was not too crowded and was seated right away. The menu was simple yet had many offerings. Service was excellent and attentive. The ambiance was very American diner feel, and casual. Loaded Crispy Potato Breakfast - 5/5: this started with a base of crispy potatoes layered with scrambled eggs, sausage, ham, bacon and jalapeños topped with a slightly spicy orange sauce. This looked like it was a small portion, but it was quite filling. Would definitely order this again. Churro French Toast sticks - 5/5: These were crispy, brioche sticks stacked high and served with maple syrup. Very good if you are craving to fill that morning sweet tooth. Definitely tasted like churros. These stayed crispy throughout our meal. Wife would definitely order this again. She ordered this with a side of scrambled eggs and bacon as well. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal and appreciated the relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommend this place for a solid breakfast spot.

My husband and I are breakfast people and My Cafe is one of our go tos for standard breakfast diner foods. My husband always gets one of their french toasts and I usually go for an eggs benny. This time I wanted to try something new so I got the chicken fried steak eggs benedict. The chicken fried steak was very crispy and the gravy was good-it complimented the buttery, flakey, biscuit really well. The crispy breakfast potatoes is also yummy! I have tried stuff off the lunch menu but it's honestly a bit boring.*My favorite benedict so far has been the striploin benedict, I super recommend this! The NY steak is perfectly cooked and seasoned and really surpassed my expectations for a breakfast diner steak.
