This lounge is a multi-venue event space, containing a bar, main stage, tables with seating, and music studio rooms (available to rent by the hour) on the main level, as well as space upstairs offering views of the main level from above, and an underground level leading to multiple rooms with stages, music equipment, and sound treated walls, the entire place designed for ideal acoustics for musical performance. We rang in the new year here on Tuesday night, and had a wonderful time. The New Year's Eve event included a Frank & Dean Show, Open Jam, and access to more music in each of the individual rooms, along with the opportunity to explore the music studios and alluring decor throughout the venue. The Frank & Dean Show was cool, with the vocalists performing tunes like Fly Me To The Moon and That's Amore, but I don't think it lived up to the capabilities of this venue, musically. It was like watching karaoke on the big stage (they already had a karaoke room downstairs, which could do the same), but it was fine, they had us smiling and vibing to the great crooner musical acts during our first hour there. The music city underground offerings had actual live music more to our liking, the various bands in each room performing a range of tunes including folk, rock, blues, and reggae. The Open Jam was even funner, creating awesome music with sounds of the saxophone, bass, keyboard, vocals, and more. I especially enjoyed getting to watch and hear my bf play the guitar, drums, and melodica (musicians can bring their own instruments, or use the house instruments). The environment was simply welcoming and laid back, with lots of talented artists simply having a good time. The service and food/drink offerings were not the best and are the biggest reason I'm not giving 5 stars. They seemed a bit disorganized in the beginning, and guests who had tickets were confused about how to find their reserved seats (not just my party, but other attendees too) and it took a while for anyone to help us. The 7:00pm show didn't start till 7:20pm, and the second show started late as well. For dinner, we had the chicken caesar wrap and fish n chips, and though they were both delicious and good sized portions, they weren't our first choices. They were out of the steak frite and salads, and possibly more. How could you be out of multiple menu items on a special event day, before the event even starts?!? They already have a limited menu to begin with, so this was definitely a turnoff. Nonetheless, can't deny, Music City SF is still a pretty amazing music venue with a lot of potential. And we certainly had a memorable experience.

I saw Perry Sings Sinatra here, The front door guy didn't know where to direct us, which was kinda annoying because this happen 2 different days. Its a music venue where they rent out rooms to singers/bands. The main entrance floor has the bar area, then there's and above and lower floor, maning there's multiple types of music and people at once. Management should definitely provide the front door with a list of who is preforming where and at what time to help new customers, like me.Buy your drinks prior to going into ur venue.Good venue that could be perfected with minor tweaks.

The space is awesome. They really put thought into the setup and decor. It's a great space to listen to bands and performances. They have theee stages. The main stage can sit over 100. You can have a good view of the stage and be as close as you want. The other two stages are cozier and sits ~20. The staff and bartenders are super friendly and nice. One of the staff saw that my son was covering his ears because he wasn't used to the noise level and proactively offered ear plugs!! Wow!! We are definitely coming back!!

I recently came here for a comedy show, but we got a tour of the whole venue including the studio room upstairs and the museum-like feel of the corridors (of both the lounge and hotel). In addition to the nice vibe and friendly staff, the food and drinks were also great.

Hosted a birthday party for 40+ guests in a semi-private area at Music City, and it was a DREAM come true! Dolly and her staff took such good care of me - from custom designing the most delicious buffet dinner menu (everyone went back for seconds and thirds) to making me a signature cocktail for all my guests (with glitter!) to letting me choose the DJ on the main venue stage for that night. She even let us karaoke in one of the private rooms downstairs after the main bar/restaurant was officially closed. :D Her staff was so attentive and on top of everything during the party as well. All my guests had the *best* time not only in our private area but also dancing to the DJ playing throwback hits on the stage. My friends kept asking me, "How did you find this cool venue/space?? With such amazing food and music???" Highly highly recommend Music City for your next event, or for a regular night to drink cocktails, eat chicken wings, and experience a Nashville vibe here in SF. :)
