Pleasantly surprised. The golden spice ice cream, according to my friend, tastes like Play-Doh. I find it very tasty especially with caramel. Services fast and friendly. Ambiance, it's the Emeryville public market so there's always a place to sit. It can be a bit noisy but that's okay

While I'd never been much of a fan of plant-based ice cream, I figured the long queue at Mr. Dewie's was a sign that I should give cashew-based ice cream a chance. The list of posted flavors all sounded wonderful - on the day of my visit, Golden Spice, Banana Nut, and Chocolate Cookie Crumble were featured. The line moved slowly, which I didn't appreciate until I reached the front and realized that customers were allowed to sample unlimited flavors. I sampled Golden Spice and Chocolate Cookie Crumble - which I ended up ordering as a 1/2 scoop each.The cashew-based ice cream wasn't as smooth as dairy-based ice cream, but the creaminess was on par. Also, the Golden Spice and Chocolate Cookie Crumble flavors were phenomenal! Vegan or not, I would definitely come back to order both flavors again.

I really enjoyed cashew ice cream. The texture was a little gritty but I was pleasantly impressed by the taste.

For all you vegan lactose intolerant people, here's a place you need to bookmark because this is your holy grail for lactose free ice cream that tastes as good as it's going to get.Mocha Chip: Least favorite as the mocha to me tasted like a weird powdered chocolate rather than any mocha flavor, and I didn't taste any chips at all.Strawberry: Great Strawberry flavor, would highly recommend this one.Cold brew coffee: Again with the weird aftertaste and lacking a true coffee flavor. Tastes very chalky powder like.Banana Nut: Interesting and good banana flavor with a decent amount of nuts. There's the flavors, so it's up to you now to try and decide.

This was the absolute, most delicious cashew ice cream! You could've fooled me, it's better than normal ice cream! Zoe was super sweet, helpful, and was so welcoming! We ended up getting a lot more than we planned for, but Zero regrets and a happy belly! I highly recommend for any vegan people, especially with allergies, everything is super clear and easy to understand, and seriously delicious! Thank you and see you very soon! (and they even had cashew milk bones for my pup! What a dream!)

After having a bite within "The Public Market", a dessert was called for and we left it up to Mr. Dewie's. Ordered a two soup (Mint Chip/Fresh Strawberry) and was not disappointed. It's perfect for those who prefer dairy, soy, and gluten free. It's different from your traditional ice cream, but taste was not sacrificed at all.

Got to love a place that I can consume lactose free dessert! Any flavor is delicious. Service was quick and friendly.

I have been wanting to try this place for a while since I am lactose intolerant and this place didn't disappoint. This place is located in the Public Market where you can hang out and eat other food, and there is free parking conveniently located nearby. Among a bunch of stalls, this Ice Cream stand is located, similar to a food court or LA's Grand Central Market except lacking the crowds and the historic stalls.When we arrived at this ice cream stall, we were happily greeted by a server who was very friendly and knowledgeable about the products, as well as gave us a lot of recommendations and explained the different Ice Creams as we sampled them. From the samples and suggestions, we ordered a double scoop of the Golden Spice and Ultra Matcha.The Golden Spice had a nice flavor that melded well with the Ultra Matcha like our server suggested. The Golden Spice had spice similar to Chai and had a similar taste to Golden Milk Tea that gave it a sweet spice flavor that was thankfully not too sweet.The Ultra Matcha thankfully had a Matcha taste. It didn't skimp on the Matcha like some places do. It was also not too bitter. It was a very light bitterness that is evened out by this light Coconut taste probably from the Coconut Milk.As for the Ice Cream itself, it had a texture that is basically similar to Ice Cream that could easily fool you if you didn't know it was vegan and was really good. It was the first time we have tried so many vegan Ice Creams at once since they usually have a limited menu for vegan Ice Cream at other places.Overall, the customer service was great and Ice Cream was delicious. Definitely coming again and would have those flavors again.

Ice cream was okay, but their pricing is a bit high and their cookies were extremely disappointing. They do however, give you samples which is nice

Best vegan ice cream I've had! The service was amazing. She was warm and friendly while we tasted various flavors. There's a lot of seating in the food hall. It was pretty quite when we went, near closing. However, the energy around will be determined by the time of the day and the guests present at the surrounding establishments as well. Vegan or not I think you'll love their ice cream.
