Remember before the pandemic all those $16 and $18 AYCE buffets? There is still one at a rock bottom price in Sunnyvale. 1130am-2pm 16 course lunch buffets $13 Monday-Thursday, and $16 Friday-Sunday at Mr. Biryanis in Sunnyvale, on El Camino Real next to Fair Oaks, next door to Chase Bank and Dollar Tree and across Remington from In-and-Out hamburger. Came Monday and they served: chili baby corn, mix veg fry, onion pakada, potato fry, paneer marsala, rotis, special veg biryani, rasam, white rice, fish curry, chicken curry, chili chicken, tandorie chicken, vijaywanda chicken biryani, fruit custard, meal sanbar and tea. Came Tuesday and they served: aloo pakoda, mix veg fry, gobi manchurian, veg butter masala, special veg biryani, rasam, white rice, gongura dal, veg fried rice, chicken leg quarter, pepper chicken, chicken chettinard, naan, chili boneless chicken biryani, milk payasam, tea. You pick up your paper plates and plastic utensils and serve yourself from the bins of food over hot water. Ashamed by leaving food on your tray? You can bus your tray discretely to the waste basket. No scornful looks by staff, and no extra charge if you don't finish your food. Cups for drinking water, so you don't have to pay for water after eating the spicy hot curry dishes. Also dessert. I stuck mainly to boneless chicken dishes. Decent buffet dishes. My favorite dish was the pepper chicken, a Chinese dish! Only fault was that they served the fresh out of the oven naan early in the meal but didn't refill the dish with fresh naan until 30 minutes later. No worries about people eating too much. Dining under the plexiglass ceiling will quickly get you baked hotter than chicken vindaloo.Paid with credit card, and for a change the credit card screen didn't ask for a tip. They don't expect tipping on a buffet. Tip jar next to the cashier. Didn't have to pay until leaving. Guess they looked at me and decided I wasn't a dine and dash candidate.

Came here around 11:30 on a Saturday, we wanted to try a new buffet place and with a $15.99 per person pay, you know that we had to check it out. When you walk in, the food is displayed in front of the counter. It wasn't crowded when we got there, but more people were coming in around noon. For the buffet selection, you choose the table yourself, get your food and you pay after. The buffet menu include; naan, non-veg curries and appetizer, chicken and veg biryani, watermelon and fruit custard, gulab jammun dessert -- and many others. They also had a self dispensing chai for drinks. Overall, it was a solid deal for $15.99 per person

I've ordered twice from here and each time my order takes 20 minutes longer than what the estimate is. I don't mind waiting longer, just don't give an estimate time you know is wrong.both times I have been waiting with a bunch of other people waiting for orders. the customer service sucks, if anyone is at the counter at all. I'm surprised this place has so many locations open.

In my opinion Good:Both times I've been here the food tasted goodThe prices aren't too highBad:One time the food came out very slowThey don't give normal dishes or silverware even when dining inThe staff weren't rude but also weren't friendly It seems like a lot of their business is focused on takeout or buffets. But the lack of care for people dining in is kind of confusing. With tweaks this place could be solid.

We were all enjoying a great game night and thought of ordering from here. We ordered the "special boneless chicken biryani".. other than the cost there is nothing special. With a quick survey from over 5 people from across india, it was rated the worst biryani each of us had ever had.The biryani is just rice with curry on top. A box is salna, a box of raita, a box of chicken 65, one gulab jamun and a can of coke.Save ur time and money and order from sankranti. Way better.May be they should rename "mr. Biryani" to "miss the biryani"

We ordered take-out and were rewarded with the Best Special Boneless Chicken Biryani ever! The chicken pieces were totally succulent and the right size for a single bite. The red-hued sauce stuck to the chicken pleasantly and gave a lovely, spicy, tender flavor and texture. Sometimes, an Indian restaurant's offerings taste all the same, but this was different than the traditional tikka Masala or butter sauce. It came with raita and a hot sauce but not my favorite green mint sauce. Of course it goes without saying, the rice was perfectly cooked. This was more than enough for two people at a great price! We also ordered an Afghan-style tandoori chicken leg. The flavor was amazing, and again, unlike the other chicken flavor. It was pretty spicy but the depth of flavor was delicious. We ate it with very delicate butter naan that was superb.I'm not a fan of buffets as I like my food freshly cooked, but the buffet looked incredible. The menu is quite voluminous with food from regions that I haven't experienced. I spent as much time on Google trying to decode the menu, as I did deciding on what I wanted. That would be my only criticism. I know the area and the restaurant probably caters to ex-pats, but as a non-Indian who grew up eating Indian cuisine in Berkeley, I still would have appreciated a little more explanation than simply the name of the dish. I'll be back!

We catered from this place for our housewarming party this week. We ordered 2 full trays of Special panner biryani. All our guests really enjoyed the flavor of the food and the texture of paneer. They all asked me where I got my food from as the food catered to both adults and children who whole heartedly enjoyed the meal and had a great time. We will definitely be ordering from Mr biryani in the future.

We went there for the all you can eat breakfast buffet, after seeing the ad on IG. Although it said they opened at 8, the buffet was ready close to 9 a.m and guests started coming at 9:15ish. The place served West Indian cuisine. The buffet came with many options, which were well-seasoned, tasty and not too spicy. Some items were freshly made. Staff was friendly. He took time to explain about the food and how to enjoy it. We will certainly be back and highly recommend it if you are up for a big yummy breakfast.
