i tried this spot with some friends, and we decided to get some of the server's recommendations since we're not familiar with nepalese or indian food.the food was flavorful, and my favorite was the garlic naan that was so fresh. the samosas were a little lacking in flavor, but the sauces were so good and i liked how there was one a little more sour.i'd definitely recommend ordering a lot and doing family style! solid spot overall

Yum yum yummmy! Awesome Indian place nearby my house, and they even deliver. I would say probably closer to 3.5 stars for the actual food but the service was good so I bumped it up.I rarely eat indian food but i was in the mood for this subcontinent's cuisine the other night. I wasn't sure what to order but i went with the butter chicken, garlic naan and the yogurt dipping sauce. All were very very deliciously delightful! My only two complaints are that its a little pricey and they dont give u rice with every order. I didnt realize this so i had to make some on my own, which turned out just fine bc i like brown rice. Will definitely be ordering again!

Found this spot while casting about for a spot my friend and I both wanted to try, near my hotel and my last night in town. And Mt Everest did not disappoint. We had the momo dumplings, pakora and tikki mandala paneer and it was all delicious! I had never had Nepalese food before and while all our dishes were familiar (to someone who loves Indian food), they were all just a little different which I loved. Service was good and the restaurant is cozy. Parking was easy on the street.

Dined at this restaurant while I was in Berkeley yesterday and was craving for momos. We tried their chicken jhol momos. The jhol(soup) was so delicious full of garlicky and coriander flavours. The chicken stuffing in the momos (dumplings) was generous. Veg Chowmein - Great portions and like very simple street style taste. Kadahi chicken - Could have little more gravy to this dish, the chicken pieces were little big. The taste was as per what we requested for. Simple food with casual ambiance, Friendly staff always had smile on their face. Thankyou for the delicious food.

Walking around the Berkley campus and someone recommended we try Mount Everest. We were seated immediately for a 7pm weekday dinner.ATMOSPHERE: The place felt clean and was brightly lit. It was nearly empty when we went. There is a small (~5 spots) parking lot in the back, so plan ahead to figure out parking as that lot was full. FOOD: We got the chicken biryani and a mango lassi. The biryani rice was seasoned really well, but there were only a few pieces of chicken included, and they tasted under seasoned. Nonetheless I still enjoyed the dish. The Mango lassi was creamy and sweet, just as it should be. Definitely recommend getting one of these!SERVICE: It took a few min for a server to say hello to us despite the place being completely empty. Our order was taken, and it took about 20 min for the food to come out. We also weren't checked up on after this. The restaurant also overcharged us (double) for an appetizer someone in our party got and luckily one of us noticed.PRICE/VALUE: The biryani was $16, which is on the pricier side especially for being around a college, but the portions were large. Overall, I liked the biryani rice and mango lassi, but the service and the low amount of chicken that was underseasoned were areas of improvement.

Used to live near this restaurant and would pass it on my way home everyday. Finally got to try it for lunch one day and my expectations were met. The restaurant is super cute, the decorations make it feel very cozy. The waitress that helped us was also friendly! I got one of the lunch specials and the serving size was definitely worth it. Honestly the most memorable thing was the side salad -- that doesn't mean the other parts of the dish weren't good, but I was most surprised by how good the salad was. Naan was nice and warm, and a good amount of crispy. With that said, I don't think anything was that notable, so I would come here if nearby, but wouldn't go out of my way.

One of the best food in bay area, coming here since 2015 and has never disappointed me. I love the food and the service.

Never tried this place before so decided to swing by with a friend, but we both felt that it was underwhelming. First of all, none of the dishes come with rice, even though everything is $15+. I tried the eggplant, and felt that the portion was relatively small for the price. The flavor was just okay, it felt like there were a lot of spices in the dish, but it tasted confusing and like there was a lot going on but no distinct flavors.

Mediocre at best, unfortunately. The entrees I ordered (Chicken Tikka Masala and Fish Vindaloo) were surprisingly bland... and really sweet- as if the cooks are adding sugar to the food. The veggie samosas were good, but I didn't like the accompanying sauces, which were also bland and watery. The delivery portions are VERY small and you have to pay for rice separately, which isn't even in a standard paper takeout box, but a small size. The food wasn't overly oily/greasy, though, which is a plus. I won't be ordering from this restaurant again, but maybe it's better to go there in person.

Went there on Tuesday evening, for dinner. It was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The ambiance is warm and inviting. We started with the Samosas, which were perfectly crispy on the outside with flavorful spiced potato filling. Creamy butter chicken with garlic naan was the main highlight. Server present at that time was very sweet and attentive, she asked us if the food was good and absolutely YES!! It was.
