Morgan's Bar & Lounge

Located in beautiful Julia Morgan building, this quiet bar is a very nice place to go for a drink and light meal. (I think you can order from the restaurant menu as well.) Service was good and the drinks are delicious. Helpful to know that you need to ring the door buzzer if the door is locked.

Creative cocktails executed very well. Friendly yet unobtrusive service. The lounge food menu is really good (recommend the ahi tuna with avocado and mango!) or you can order from the restaurant's full menu. Certain days of the week have a food/bev paired special, which is yummy and economical. Live pianist on Friday evenings adds a fun touch to the beautiful/historic atmosphere. Be sure to read the write-up in the menu about the historic bar/back-bar. They are a nice addition to Julia Morgan's architecture of the lounge/restaurant and the entire building!

Lovely, pleasant bar and lounge located in the Berkeley City Club. Drinks and food were good and reasonably priced. I you're hungry you can order either from the bar menu or the restaurant menu. It's worth it just for the ambiance, to look around this architectural gem. Service was a bit disorganized although it wasn't a problem. They could do with a bit more variety in their drinks menu; I would've like a margarita but didn't see one listed.

Drinks were great! The place is very quiet, and typically attracts an older crowd. My friend and I could hear each other easily (which is what we wanted), so it wasn't a problem for us. Also, Mark gave us a wonderful tour of the building (Berkeley City Club), a rather charming landmark.
