Mission Bar

What a difference a bartender makes. Even though it's been around for years, I first patronized this spruced-up dive bar last summer when I succumbed to the big lit sign that simply stated 'BAR'. It's next to That's It, the corner takeout spot that serves those humongous tortas. I sat alone at the end of a long bar where the rest of the space was populated with regulars.I thought the bartender Laura did a great job meeting every customer's needs. She made sure she made a personal connection with each one including me. I ended up having a Happy Hour special, the $8 Caribbean Sunrise, a cousin to a Tequila Sunrise that uses rum instead of tequila (photo: https://yelp.to/F88ifWInCb). It was quite refreshing with a more tropical kick.I came back a few weeks later and there was no Laura. Instead there was a young guy focused on his buddies at the far end of the bar. I had a hard time getting his attention, but I managed to get the $9 Rum Punch which almost despite the rum, tasted on the light side (photo: https://yelp.to/1PB3zLbhyI). I remember thinking passively that I probably wouldn't return, and several months elapsed.I decided to drop by earlier today, and I was happy to see Laura was here. She actually remembered me from my first visit and had suggested I try the $8 Pineapple Rum Spritz, a lovely combination of Rumhaven coconut washed rum, pineapple juice, and club soda (photo: https://yelp.to/j1w3zg2Sxf). I told her it perfectly hit the spot, and she made a point to check up on me. I honestly loved this place! The music wasn't too loud so my friend and I could easily chat and catch up. We stayed for 4 hours and there were always people around but it wasn't bustling.We each got two drinks and both were tasty and strong. The prices are also unheard of: $10/drink!

So glad they're open again after being closed for retrofit So many fun nights here and looking forward to many more. Keep on rockin mission bar

Time for yet another Dive Bar review!The Bission Bar pretty far down Mission Street and is propably one of the cheapest places in town.You can get a decent draft beer for below 5$ and also some cheap Longdrinks.They have a Full bar and a wide selection of liquids.The stuff is friendly and responsive and the crowd is diverse which I really like.They also have TVs where they show sports but almost nobody really cares.Nice chill place for an afterwork beer!

A great Mission dive bar. Cheap drinks and the staff is always super cool.

We needed an after hours bar & this was the place. We actually walked in & was ready to leave. The place reaked of piss & it just looked sketchy overall. The bathrooms were even worse. The only thing that kept us there was that the alcohol was dirt cheap. Honestly don't even know if there were set prices but the bartender was cool af & served us whatever we wanted from shots to tap to mixed drinks for little to nothing. It ended up being super fun but we basically drank so we couldn't smell anymore lol.

A classic neighborhood dive bar in the center of the Mission near the 24th St Bart station with cheap drinks, and never too crowded on weekend nights.Bathrooms are pretty dirty, but the bartenders are friendly and the overall vibe of the bar is unpretentious and laid back. It's cash only, so bring a twenty and you'll be set for the night with beers around $4 and cocktails for $6-$7 each.

Affordable, strong drinks. It is a dark bar and lots of flies when we went in. I love that they allow dogs and they have hooks under the bar to hang your purse. I did not check the restrooms. I do love that it's a five bar and they had the game playing on a Sunday.

Cheeaaap beer! I like this place. I found $1 on the floor here. $4/$5 for beer. HeheThe bartenders are nice. The only thing that sucks about this place is that it's cash only. :|

If you like Boilermakers (a shot & a beer combo), this is a great bar! Some places with such combo special will give you a beer and a small shot, but Mission Bar will give you a proper shot, so it is well worth the price.The bar is cash only, but an ATM is conveniently at the entrance ($2.20 fee) so you don't have to venture far.Divy, unpretentious, solid drinks
