I was going n for a surprise when I arrived at an evening meeting. Dinner was awesome as well as the service. We had leftovers and after eating two Arepas... I was glad to see there were leftovers Carolina was willing to part with. My son home from the Navy enjoyed and inhaled what I was willing to share with him.Keeping one for my breakfast tomorrow. This picture doesn't do the food justice. The red sauce had a kick...a blend of four peppers! Caliente!!! My sore throat enjoyed the kick! I could have taken some sauce home to help open my throat and get rid of the itchiness.

Fantastic authentic Venezuelan arepas (~corn patties... get in there, gluten haters!), and importantly for the Bay Area, veggie arepas too!FOOD: Venezuelan/Colombian arepas are delightful corn cakes stuffed pita style with yummy fillings marinated to perfection of your choosing (steak, chicken, pork, veggie beans + plantains... the list goes on!). The arepas were the perfect balance between firm and dry. Only sampled the chicken and veggie--both were outstanding! The hot sauces (red and green) were both homemade and the star of the show, at once spicy and refreshing :). SERVICE: Wow! I love this one woman show. This is a woman who loves her arepas and what she does. She is a passionate educator on the origins of the arepas and happy to answer any questions about hers. Hire her ASAP! AMBIANCE: depends on where you have this catered! I believe she and a cart grace the streets of Oakland occasionally as well :).

Had some while she working out on the back porch of the The Cat House on Lakeshore in Oakland. Sure beat a lot of other possible bar food at other places. I won't go seeking her out, but would definitely have her high on my list if there were several choices at a fair or festival.

Arepas are rare in the bay area. this is only the 2nd time i've tasted it. lst being at the la cocina fest in s.f. when The Arepa Lady appeared.eats: Papello (7)-shredded beef, black beans, cheese in corn cake wrapper(corn meal)-red and green salsas condiments available, option passed.-ingredients don't seem to be made on site, just assembled on site.-beef tender but not much of it-black beans tasted strange alone-corn cake tasted coarse unlike the mochi-like wrapper the Arepa Lady made.3.5 starsfoodnotes:-there are venezuelan and columbian versions of arepadon't know which is which..

Miss Arepita has the best arepas in town, honestly out of this place what I like the most is the meat, I have never had "Carne mechada" (Shredded beef) as good as this one ever, is juicy, flavorful and just great.I have had all the arepas except the veggie one, but my husband really enjoys the veggie one too, the beans are always delicious as well and lets not even talk about the plantains. The green sauce I could drink it by itself, its that great, try it with any of the arepas it's so good, it can match any flavor.

I love this food stand! Local ingredients from Phat Beetz!I always get the Pabellon and the juice to drink!!You can only get this, from what I've seen, Saturdays in Oakland's farmer's market on Lowell and Grace. It is worth as it is freshly made in front of you. It is also cultural, so I love eating different foods and the Pabellon has become my favorite! Flavor is AMAZING!Carolina is very friendly and a good person. Her food is rare and unique... so definitely worth it!!

Not sure why the first review gave these place a 3 star I am guessing he is a food critic or a foodie. These place is awesome and to find it so close to home on the market is even better. The flavors are great and customer service is even better, is the perfect place to go on a Saturday morning walk for a snack. One single Arepa is pack with a lot and is Gluten-Free. Of course the ingredients are not made on side could you imagine the time it takes to seamer the meats to the right tendersness and flavor. Also the amount of money she have to pay for permits to be able to do that. Food that has that home feeling and taste. And nope not the owner and don't personally know the owner, just a hungry student that was looking for a fast snack on the way to study.
