This is an absolutely fantastic space in SF! It's located high up on the 15th floor. There's plenty of room for multiple bars, and a great stage front and center for the band to perform on. For dinner we were served delicious tacos and burgers, and the dessert table was amazing! My favorite were the chocolate dipped strawberries, and the macaroons looked amazing as well! The staff were very helpful and kept the event moving along.

Probably one of my favorite venues to work with from start to finish. The team, organization and communication style is what all venues should strive to see how Merchants Exchange's team does. I can't begin to thank the team and how at ease they made me feel while we planned a very important college event for my job. From the service to the wine, food and A/V along with the manager of the night ...everything was amazing!!! If you are thinking about booking this venue for an event this place is definitely worth it!!Thank you again team for all the help!

This is an outstanding event space. My organization held a reception here in March 2017 in support of the pre-auction viewing for the late lead singer of the Grateful Dead Jerry Garcia's famous Wolf guitar. The staff was fantastic and the layout of the rooms was perfect. The food and beverage program was a big hit with our attendees. We definitely made the right choice in holding our event here.

This is a beautiful venue. Our company had a party here and it was fabulous. The building is in a classic style, it was lit with beautiful lighting in and out. DJ music and dancing was fun. Catering was good too, but I think it has nothing to do with the venue, it's what our company ordered from the outside vendor.

I went to the launch party last week and was impressed by the recently renovated Merchants Exchange Club. They had decorated it to give a "W" hotel type feel. The location has a great location with easy access to BART/muni and in the heart of downtown SF's financial district. In the same building is the famous Julia Morgan ballroom which has hosted President Barack Obama as well as Nobel Prize winner Aung San Suu Kyi. The exchange club is located downstairs and it was not apparent to me if it had windows as there were drapes covering all the walls - not sure if it was part of the party's theme or if they were covering windows. The building is definitely a piece of SF history, and there are several great facilities in the space, as well as a planning team to ensure that your group gets a great experience.

I had the opportunity to attend an event at the Merchant's Exchange Club a few nights ago. My understanding of this joint is that it is open to members or can be catered out as a venue for events. This joint is located right across the street from Wells Fargo off of California. The building is a very classic building that I feel cannot be found in the FiDi area anymore. The venue itself can be located when you walk downstairs and there is a space that opens up into an open floor plan. The folks had done a great job setting up a healthy spread of small bites with Mini cheeseburgers, mini spring rolls, mini baked potatoes... I mean how can you go wrong with anything delicious in mini form. They also had a pita bread station with a variety of dipping sauces which were all delicious and a charcuterie set with cured meats and cheeses which were all solid as well. The bar was an open bar also thank goodness. There was plenty of space to walk around and mingle with folks and the lighting and décor were all a classy affair. Definitely a nice joint for a private event if you are considering it in the future.

The venue is exquisite and the team - Kim, Jennifer, Christina, Jason - a joy to work with. They are pros through and through. Tell them what you need and want and they can make it happen. Best of all they are considerate and fair toward non-profits in San Francisco. I highly recommend this space for an intimate VIP or business event. You will love the decor; the bar-reception area which opens up to a perfect dining area below, complete with various airwalls to create the size you need. Also, catering is delicious - kitchen is shared with the Julia Morgan Ballroom. Book the MXC: you will be glad you did!

Based on all the great reviews I checked out Merchants Exchange Club. I LOVED the venue for it's history and it seemed like a great place to hold an event. The sales team was responsive and so was the event manager, or so I thought, until the day of the event. Careful, their appetizer portions are tiny tiny tiny. This was a problem because I ordered 5 - 6 appetizers per person instead of a dinner. Ask any caterer and they will tell you that should be plenty to substitute dinner. I was also assured by the event manager that this would be plenty. Sadly this is not the case at Merchant's Exchange Club. The appetizers were the size of marbles. I saw right away this would be an issue and talked to our event coordinator about it who assured me they had plenty of appetizers on hand. Well, they did not and then, when I requested Pizza to supplement catering for my group of about 50 people they brought out 3 personal sized pizzas after a looooong wait. I had to argue to get more made and served. It was a nightmare! We got through the event. When I contacted the venue and sales team after the event and let them know about this, I never heard back from them. They were quick to charge the credit card on file for the difference in price for catering but literally never made a peep about any of my feedback. I think there is better service and catering out there. Too bad, because the venue itself is cool.

We held our Sangeet (song and dance celebration the day before an Indian wedding) here and had a wonderful experience- Lillian Phan, Kaley Fountain and the MXC staff did a great job of accommodating 250 plus guests in the space with a dance/ performance area in the center! The evening was elegant and flowed extremely well.

Our nonprofit organization held an event today at the Merchants Exchange. We were so impressed with the service and organization provided by Merchants Exchange Productions. Kelsy Beatty was awesome. The day before the event we realized that we were going to have almost twice as many attendees we expected. Kelsy and her team stepped up to the plate and managed to have all the extra food and tables we need--overnight! The staff was incredibly helpful, the food was perfect and beautifully presented, and the space accommodated all of our needs. Thank you Kelsy and Merchants Exchange Productions!
