Mercado 925

We came for taco Tuesday! Had a delicious Tamarind margarita, guac and shops and 3 tacos - one taco with barbacoa, one with Al pastor and one with carnitas. Carnitas was my favorite but they were all super tasty!! The meat was flavorful and the tortillas were fresh. Yummmm.I love the design of the space too. Really cool.Looks like they have a good happy hour so I'm excited to come back.

Very good food (I would give them a forth star but they served me half way warm - half way cold fried rice.Quality and ambiance is far different (in a good way) from the traditional food providers of this type in NorCal.Not sure if I want to go back, because when ordering food a la carte, I expect it to be warm hot across the board, and I don't want to repeat first experience.Parking is not easy either, but I don't mind walking a few blocks away from their location.

My family loved this place on our first visit and have only grown to adore it more on subsequent trips, including a grown-ups only double date!The staff is kind and swift and everything I've eaten has been something I'd order again in a heartbeat. Do not miss the platanos, fish tacos, Mexicali tacos (I've enjoyed all the proteins I've tried: al pastor, carne asada, picadillo), or the barbacoa en jugo. These are exceptional stand-outs on a menu where you can't go wrong.I haven't been for brunch yet but I hope to remedy that soon.The only knock on Mercado 925 is the acoustics. It's LOUD in this place with the concrete floor, high ceilings, metal chairs. Some sound dampening would go a long way.That aside, I recommend this place for nearly any occasion from date to family meal with kids to group dinner. It's my favorite sit down Mexican restaurant in the East Bay.

I was visiting Berkeley on business and recommended the restaurant. It is fabulous and seems posh but affordable. The food is fresh and worth the price. I went in after work and it wasn't crowded but families and dates enjoying good food and conversation. The wait staff is friendly and helped me make a good healthy selection. There is soft lighted table dining and a bar.

I absolutely adore Thai Table, and since this restaurant is right by it, I was intrigued and decided to check it out! Coming from Los Angeles, I absolutely adore Mexican food, and was hoping Mercado 925 would fill that craving that I have yet to find in the Bay.However, after visiting Mercado 925, I was left incredibly disappointed. We ordered the breakfast tacos which, although were good, were drowning in grease which I assume was leftover from the frying of the eggs? We also ordered carne asada and al pastor tacos, which while the carne asada was a miss, the al pastor was superb! However, the tortillas that are wrapping the tacos are inadequate as it just fell apart, again - likely due to the grease from the meat.Overall, a decent Mexican place, but I would just fix a couple issues.

This spot is serving extremely tasty and fresh eats in a really great, large space. I've had my eye on them since they opened as they have been consistently getting great reviews and the space is bright.I ended up on a taco Tuesday and ordered up a few tacos and a salad. The Al pastor taco may be one of the best tacos in Berkeley. It was juicy with fresh chunks of pineapple, served in that double tortilla ; it was the damn closest thing to perfection I've had in taco form in Berkeley. The fish taco was also a delicious taco specimen.The salad was tasty and extremely fresh and large (no bagged salad here), but simple. I added a side of chicken and they legit brought a side plate of a heaping portion of chicken. The space is great for groups - it's large. During the weekday it's counter service but evening is table service. There's a long bar, so a great spot to post up as well. This spot is delicious, reasonably priced and has a lot of potential. Big fan.

Fantastic taco Tuesday specials. Modern, open and clean interior. Nice selection of tequila and mezcals. We had the home made chips and guacamole. Very tasty. They have a nice selection of street tacos that have a very generous serving of meats. Easy to find location

My new find!! Best Tequilas! Great food. Definitely will be back. Carnitas, quacamole, tequila flights... try em all you won't be disappointed!

Had to run into Berkeley for an errand. As I drove down University Ave., I passed a super sexy Mexican restaurant. Dim lights and a cool name. After my errand I would totally be trying this place out. As I walked in, it was a total eyeball party. Gorgeous lighting, beautiful subway tiles and the most friendly staff. The fish tacos are what I ordered, my eyes rolled into the back of my head they were so delicious. They are now doing an expansion. It looks stunning. I'll for sure be recommending Marcado 925 to all of my crew. Will be back for sure!!! Thank you!

Excellent food service and authenticity..Family and friendly environment had no complaints about any of it this place
