Long overdue review. Mei mei market has all the needs you need packed in a small Chinese supermarket. I'm so glad Mei Mei is here in the neighborhood serving the Asian community of Castro valley and others too. You don't need to drive into the city or go to other Asian super markets cause Mei Mei has it. Their seafood selection is fresh and you can see it always being delivered daily or weekly. Produce is fresh and green. You can tell they pick out the bad vegetables so you're not getting the ugly ones. They put love and care into their supermarket. There is always a line and always busy with business. I'm glad to hear that they will expand their business at the old rite aid. I can't wait for a bigger supermarket, but I hope they continue to keep the same prices and not over charge after expansion.

It's a small little Asian market in Castro valley. It's really small but they have a bunch of ice creams that you can't find everywhere, even the trending ice creams. The staff was pretty friendly. It just gets super crowded when there's multiple people in there.

Chinese market in the heart of Castro Valley.Need Chinese groceries? Need fresh meat at a reasonable price? Want a to have really FRESH fish (that's swimming in the fish tanks) ? Then go to Mei Mei Market. This small store is packed with everything you need to make Asian dishes. The meat counter has a wide variety of fresh pork to make your favorite soup, braised and steamed dishes. There's Sakai need tending ands chicken feet. The fish area has fresh (alive) calms, crab and fish... as well as dead fish. The store is packed with dry goods and is neatly organized. The workers are friendly and can speak English (a plus for me). Parking lot is located on Chester St. There's a ramp leading to the market from the parking lot.

This place is packed with hidden gems. The viral ice cream shaped in fruits form trio are sold here. I was very happy to find them. The place is PACKED SO be careful when you visit. I would say if you carry a backpack, you might want to take it off or you will end up knocking things off the shelf. I took off a STAR for safety.

We've been shopping here for a few years and the products have been consistently high quality. Fruits are always fresh and good in size albeit quite expensive when compared to other Asian markets. They also sell out really quickly and the owner posts on social media when fresh and exotic fruits are available. Inside is really tiny but I'm always surprised how much variety is available in such a small space.

Been here many times, I have accepted its "Chinese market" with no customer service. Today went for some pork belly. They refuse to sell me for 1 pound. So I have to a giant piece they offer. Great job keeping food at bay. Sucky ass customer service.

On the Boulevard (Castro Valley Blvd that is!) on my way to Portillo's. Everyone knows that the parking is tight in that part of CV Blvd so I was blessed to have found an open parking spot in front of Mei Mei Market. The inside is small and packed with a lot (A LOT!) of Asian (Chinese) goods/groceries. Their produce selection was small but quality. I can say the same for their meat and seafood counters. Both had their meat & fish displayed in a very neat and clean manner. Not so at other Asian grocery stores, if you know what I mean. The place as buzzing with busy shoppers going through the tiny aisles. Yes....it's busy.....crowded is the correct term. For this kind of convenience in the middle of CV-Land I'm more than happy to tolerate the small issues encountered. Items are all well priced too!If you're in need of Chinese groceries in a pinch, this place clearly fits the bill. Excellent!I Shall Return!

Meat per lb seems a little cheaper than 99 ranch. It's a good size small market where they have a bit of every category. The Choy sum Mui and chicken thigh I got was pretty good. They carry specialty fruits like dragon fruit and logan. Plenty of chinese snacks to choose from. I didn't take too many pictures inside because it was pretty crowded on a Sunday afternoon.

I'm so happy there's a small Asian market in Castro valley so close to our place! Definitely has most of the necessities for Asian cooking and a pretty decent seafood and meat selection.
