Went for dinner based on raving recommendations. We waited longer than usual for a fast food restaurant. But was well worth the wait! The menudo was very tender, needed to add salt but otherwise delicious. The culichi tortilla was a bit hard for my taste, but the meat was absolutely delicious, very well seasoned, seasoning was well steeped into the meat. So delicious! Got street tacos to go for my kid, had a taste of all 3 meats, they were equally amazing. Kid love it so much that i had to go back the next day!

Mazatian has been on Hercules/Rodeo for a long time. This is the place to get a great meal. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor table. Luckily the inside has a fan for the hot weather.I had the Caritas and Carne Asada taco. The side of my tacos were just the right size for me.The service was good! I ask how small the taco was and I was given a honest answer. I will try Mazatian again

7/22/24Wife wanted to try their seafood cocktail today. I chose the chilli relleno meal. This is our second or third visit in as many years. There are about 22 seats in this modest spot. Most seats are filled with boisterous worker types and there are people in line for the cashier. Due to the noise level we ordered TO GO.The cashier was funny and charming. We wiped water off a table and sat for ten minutes waiting for our food. There was a former diner at our table. A leggy gal. Wife complained to me about the price of the food.Music was festive and not to loud. There is a 'please don't hover-please put the seat down' for any sex bathroom in the back. Arrived home and the grub is hot and looks good. The cocktail had plenty of shrimp. It was skimpy on the octopus. I wish they had given or sold me tortillas with the relleno meal. Lucky. I've got my own tortillas in the fridge. The relleno needed manhandling with a knife. A bit too chewy if you know what I mean. Lucky. I've got my own steak knife in the silverware drawer. All in all it might be a while before we go due to high competition for our dollars in the neighborhood.

I had the menudo at Mazatlan Restaurant, and it was definitely a great experience! The broth was rich and flavorful, with just the right amount of spice. What made it stand out was the addition of hominy, which gave it a unique texture compared to the traditional tripe-only version.

This place was so packed around 8-8:30pm. Lady working was really rude but at least she gave us a heads up that the food would take 25 mins to come out. Food is pretty overpriced and it's nothing special. The aguachiles is around $25? The flavor was super good and on the spicy side but to me I just didn't personally like the shrimp for some reason. Salmon and shrimp tacos had huge tortillas but it was the grossest and soggiest I've ever had. The salmon itself was pretty good. They didn't even give any salsa or hot sauce

I had a friend visiting Hercules as she was relocating in December. She wanted to have Mexican dish. I brought her to Mazatlan Taqueria.FOODI ordered Camarones a la Diabla and a glass of horchata, while she ordered a grilled chicken salad. My plate was so delicious! It had ample amount of prawns and just the right spicy flavor. She said she liked what she had, too.SERVICEWe ordered from the counter then sat outside as we were still careful to eat inside during the pandemic. Had I read some of the reviews here prior to coming may have changed my mind. AMBIENCEWell, we came there around lunchtime. We noticed a lot of people who work nearby getting their lunch. We opted to eat outside. I would return again someday.

We came here for our Holiday Tamales. Having never been here before, we were a little apprehensive because past tamales from different establishments either had an entire chicken thigh, bone included, or so much maze that it drowned out the meat. The tamales here were a very good balance of meat and maze and thankfully, no bones. We also ordered Flautas. Little did we know that in some regions of Mexico, flautas and taquitos are the same thing, using corn tortillas. I was a little disappointed getting corn tortilla instead of flour. I didn't know I should have been very specific. But! The chicken filling was very flavorful and I did enjoy them. We were given all the accoutrements to enhance our entrees. Prices are Bay Area normal. Free parking.

I swear I'm never disappointed when it comes to this spot !! The food is always up to par . Yes prices are steep but that's the economy and inflation and honestly it's worth it here . I always stick to my go tos but I switched it up and got enchiladas! Soooooo good ! Definitely my new go to . Micheladas always on point can't wait to go back. Service is always welcoming and nice

We ordered pick up for lunch. Food was delicious. I had the quesadillas specialty chicken. Too much to eat for lunch; so at dinner, warmed up, and it was just as delicious.
