Mazatlán Taqueria and Grill

The Chile Verde is excellent. It's good in burritos and very good on quesadillas. We recommend the burritos, chile be and tacos. Going to try the beef tacos soon.The service is very fast, 15 minutes or less. Great having such great food so close.The interior is clean and everytime we've gone in to pick up there has been families eating.

Best addition to the neighborhood!I used to go to their location in Rodeo so when I moved to Benicia was disappointed no real good Mexican restaurants and then bamMazatlan opens three minutes away I love everything especially the prawn burritos . Yumo!! Only bad thing is the poor girl at the counter needs some backup!

Solid choice if you live nearby.I came here recently because I needed to get a Flu/Covid shot at CVS nearby. Before I parked at CVS, I saw this Taqueria for the first time. Because I had a craving for Burrito, I walked over after I got my shots. Definitely was impressed with how big the menu was. However I wasn't as impressed when I saw the price for a Super Carne Asada burrito.This taqueria definitely has good food. I thought my Super Carne Asada burrito was pretty good. But it also was something I already tasted before. Heres the other issue. There's a very popular Taqueria that has the same burrito but at a much lower price. On top of that, Mazatlán's burrito is also smaller than other taquerias in town. Again the food is good, but it just rubs me a little bit when there are other Taquerias that give you more bang for your buck. I even get chips with my burrito at other places. I feel like if I lived close by, theres a chance I would eat here. However because I don't, I'm not sure if I would try them again.

Way overpriced and lacking flavor. Glad to have something nearby and I really wanted to like this place but I'm disappointed with the lack of flavor and the price. We ordered 2 carnitas super burritos, one carne asada super burrito and one Birria super burrito it was $73.10 total and they wanted to charge us for chips and salsa. The carnitas lacked flavor it had almost none. I chose carnitas thinking it would be an easy way to compare it against some of my local favorites and it did not meet the standard of flavor. It wasn't even close. It was mid and saying that may be generous. It was a good portion but in comparison to other places nearby, I'd say it was I'd rather go to the truck on East 5th st.The carne asada was better but it still didn't match the level of other places in the area (Vallejo, Tacos Jalisco, el Tesoro Mazatlan or La Piñata truck on Broadway)The Birria was the best of the three flavors we ordered, it was worth coming back for but not for the price. I'm really hoping that this place can thrive since it's close by but they need to figure out their prices and their recipes. My sons picked up our order and said they charge for chips and salsa, that's also a big negative for me. We paid $73.10 for 4 super burritos with no chips and salsa. When my kid told me he spent his first paycheck to buy us dinner tonight I was super upset. I hope they can figure it out because If not, I think most will agree that it's worth it to just drive a couple minute further to get a way more flavorful burrito with chips and salsa for much less.

I've tried the Mazatlán in Hercules and thought it was pretty good, so I'm glad they opened another branch in Benicia. They had a 3 for $10 street tacos deal, so I went with birria tacos. They were absolutely delicious and hit the spot, especially at that price point! Service was quick and easy, and the ambience was nice and chill. Would come back, especially since it's so local!

The tamales are great. Beans are good and the shrimp taco was good. We've been there a few times. Place is clean and service is good. We ate inside but there's a lot of takeout.

Been here a few times since it had opened and it has not disappointed! Great food and so many choices! I like the flautas the best so far. The fajitas were ok, but I think taking it home allowed it to cool down. Excited to try some ceviche and a few more items in the list!

Driving by and stopped in for lunch. Friendly staff. Ordered the Tostada with ceviche and octopus. Generous serving. Everything was very fresh tasting. I will be back to try other items.

New Spot I got to check out yesterday, Nice staff with GREAT food. Birria de res 10/10 Super burrito 8/10 needed more crema even after paying for extra but asada was very flavorful quesadilla 8/10 as well, the meat to cheese ratio was a little off but all in all flavors were on point definitely will be back

Love the burritos. The flavors combine so well. With prices of everything going up it's hard to find good quality food. You get that here. Gracias!
