My first time going to a piano bar and Martuni's was a wonderful place to visit during a night out. I came on a friday night and it was packed with groups of people throughout. Dim interior with plenty of seating + booths in the first room; the bar had plenty of space to order as well. Service was quick considering the number of orders they had. Their martinis are fantastic: we got the watermelon martini which came with a huge slice of watermelon and the lemon drop martini which had a really nice citrus flavor. There was a live piano player who played + sang lots of classics. Seemed like a lot of the audience were regulars too -- some of them seemed to know the player well and even went up to sing with him as well. Overall, the vibes were fantastic: everyone was singing along and enjoying the show. definitely seems like a local favorite!

If you're looking for a great piano bar with theater-leaning music, the back room of Martuni's is a must-go. Many of the people who come can really sing!It can get pretty full sometimes, so come a bit earlier if you want to guarantee a seat. But vibes are good, martinis are strong, and it is overall just a fun time.

Really nice atmosphere and fun piano bar in the city. We came on a Saturday night and arrived around 9pm which was early enough to get a table in the back room where the performance started a bit later. We were lucky to have come early as it got pretty crowded once the night went on. The crowd is a bit older but we really loved the the old-school feel. We got the espresso martini and watermelon martini. Espresso was good but the watermelon tasted a bit like cough syrup. It wasn't my favorite. The staff were kept busy but they were very friendly and responded as quickly as they could.

Fantastic experience at Martuni's! The energy is so high here; it's really nice seeing a thriving business in the midst of the city slow-down. I can definitely see why it's doing so well too--the drinks are fantastic here and the decor is super cute. It has a vibe to it that's hard to explain, like old-school cool. We got lucky and found two seats at the bar, but large groups may have issues.I got the French 75 and it was well-balanced and easy to drink. I was surprised how strong it actually was though. I definitely noticed it when I got up! Haha. They gave us popcorn to snack on and never rushed us out. Everyone was friendly even though it was busy, and I felt comfortable in the space. I'm planning to come back on a performance night to really experience martuni's!

Love martuni's. Come for the dirty martinis and live piano and singing in the back. If you come early you can hopefully snag a seat in the back to see the live music!

I went to Martuni's for the first time the other night to attend a show in the back room and I had a wonderful time! The performer, Joan, was spectacular. Our waitress was on her game and wonderful. I enjoyed the energy and the embrace it felt like it gave me.

That's that me Espresso! Im working late.... cuz im a Singer!or whatever Sabrina Carpenter said in her recent banger.I've heard such good things about this spot from my coworkers, I finally made it a priority to check out. Their martinis are great! Tons of variety. Of course they make such a reliable, good espresso martini. I also ordered the Creamsicle drink that tasted EXACTLY what it sounds like. I also was a fan of their Lemon Drop Martini! I do think that most drinks are on the sweeter end so just be mindful of that if that's generally not your palette.I came on a Sunday night and it was PACKED. People were singing, there was a live piano, and seats were filled. The people of SF know a good bar when it is one!

I've been meaning to come here, like, forever. A classic piano bar is frankly hard to come by in this city. Long gone are the days when Doris Day and Rock Hudson could drop by after fantasizing about each other in an open convertible on Riverside Drive. They would come to a place like this after midnight and sing along with the piano chanteuse on "Ya Ya Roly Poly".The interior here consists first of the darkened bar illuminated by lavender lighting under the ice-filled martini glasses. The bigger back room is the nightclub with the pianist playing mellifluously on one side. One by one, people came up the mic and started singing their selections. These were not tone-deaf karaoke drunks. Not by a long shot. They sounded like professional singers auditioning for the next Sondheim revival at the Curran. My hopes of singing all the parts to "Sweeney Todd" to a live audience were dashed. I drowned my sorrows in a luscious $15.50 Espresso Martini well chilled (photo: https://yelp.to/uJOI3fuCV3). I couldn't get a seat in the nightclub, so I stayed in the darkness of the bar with dreams of Broadway stardom up in smoke.COCKTAILS - 4 stars...a smooth espresso martini good enough for Doris and RockAMBIANCE - 4.5 stars...very cosmopolitan space with an appropriately urbane nightclub SERVICE - 4 stars...adroit barmenTOTAL - 4 stars...a classic piano bar is always worth a visit RELATED - Exploring Hayes Valley? Great martini bar, we were there before dinner so not too much happening, but they have live music on Saturdays. My French team love it. And they really wanted to try a martini in the city that was invented.

Such a cute place to grab drinks with friends. We thought this place would be bigger with a piano bar and better music but when we walked in the music was terrible :(. However the drinks were pretty good and the staff was friendly and offered recommendations. I got the creamsicle martini and my sister got the watermelon martini Creamsicle martini was so good, not too sweeat, very creamy and didnt taste artificial. Watermelon martini was a little sour but watermelon slice was huge and sooo good. Drinks were $14 each = $28 total
