lovely people, huge selection, but with poor butchery, extreme fat caps, poor texture and poor flavor. been trying their various meats for years and years but was forced to write this review *specifically* about the sausages I bought, which sounded delicious: Korean Duck. I mean what's not to like about the concept of Korean flavors, duck, and sausages?my expensive mistake! extremely poorly-made exploding sausages; all sausages badly-stuffed and tied, and all irregularly sized, full of crunchy gristle, irregularly ground meat, and loaded with fat, with so much salt you could have de-iced roads with them. great idea, absolutely atrocious execution. disappointing and inedible!side note: I actually measured the amount of fat that came out of one giant sausage after it shrunk to half its size in the pan: 2/3 cup fat!!!! learn to make a tasty sausage people!

These guys are the real deal. Local, sustainable, and DELICIOUS. I buy chicken bones for stock, their meats and sausages are amazing, and their high-end cuts of beef and pork are the best there are. And don't sleep on their pastured eggs. Pricey, but worth it.

I asked a question here: Is all the beef grass-finished? I see a review says so but would like to hear it from the company. I noticed that nothing on their website indicates that it isn't corn/grain-finished. How do you define grass-fed? 100% grass foraged? Hay? Silage? I can see it at https://www.yelp.com/questions/marin-sun-farms-is-all-the-beef-grass-finished-i-see-a-review-says-so-but-would-like-to-hear-it/yfDu_PgoSlYBTD8_thBvug ....The USDA abandoned the "grass-fed" logo/certification entirely in 2016.No answer, so I'm disappointed. I'm having an affordable steak, instead of gambling on an expensive one that could well be no better. Will re-rate if/when my question is answered.

Have been coming here for years. Love the consistent quality of the meat & the humane treatment of the animals. In the last few months, I have noticed a drop in the quality of the butchery & meat offerings in the case. There's also been quite a bit of turnover. At one point the case was crowded with 3x the normal amount of meat of unpopular cuts like oxtail. Hesitated to write a review, but the condition of the meat today was just too much. The pork had a grey/green tinge, and some cuts of meat in the case was sitting in pooled blood. The meat clearly looked like it was old. Hoping management will fix this as its a wonderful local option for residents.

What happened? I used to love the meats here, but quality has gone way, way, way down. And the butchery is a complete joke. I should have asked to see my NY STRIP before purchase. One side was only about half the height of the other. I can't support this place anymore. I'm happy to pay up for quality but it justisnt here anymore. Maybe they have adopted the Belcampo model of inferior meat at exhorbitant prices.

If you like to prepare & eat clean, organic, sustainably raised meat, and want to give consideration to the animals providing your sustanance, Marin Sun Farms is the best place possible, at least by my lights, and ive been eating their goods for a decade. It's a friendly, full-service butcher with the most beautiful selection of fresh and high-quality meats. There's a hand-painted sign that informs us that they're the last private abbatoir in the bay area. You can read more on their website because they really do have a mission. But I just want to encourage people to support them and enjoy their wonderful fare. Seniors get a five percent discount. You'll be gratified if you give them a try

This isn't a butcher shop. Just a regular boutique market with a tiny meat counter. Waste of time!

I notice a mixed melange of reviews here....some good and some very bad and that surely should not be the case at this 'boutique' meat market which has prices beyond the beyond. Some weeks ago I tried some ground chuck and found it to be ropy, dry and without any noteworthy taste at all. This chuck was priced at over $12 per pound---outrageous. Once i bought 4 pork chops and found myself with a bill of over $50 for four chops!!!!! Oh and has anyone in these reviews mentioned the fact that no one there ever answers the phone???? You can call until you're blue in the face and no one will pick up. In contrast i just want to mention ver brugge just down the street and in business for eons. Wonderful and very friendly service there and ground chuck at $5.95 per lb! Also wonderful fresh fish etc and much more reasonable pricing policy.
